Hello everyone
I am Isah Cabildo an expat from the Philippines. Ive been working here in kuwait for almost seven years as a housemaid with the same sponsor and now i have decided to change an employer.my boss agreed to it but he said i have to pay an amount of 1000 kd the same amount needed for having a new housemaid but i dont have that amount of money and the family that offers me to work with them can only give half of the amount. My question is do i really need to pay my employer that amount of money when i already finished my contract with them? And for is the money that im paying for?
Im hoping to get some helpful advice to anyone who have knowledge about this as to whats the process of transferring to another employer under visa 20
Thank you and God bless us all

Hey Isah,
You need to contact the Philippine Embassy.
If you need any help with that, I'll be glad to do whatever I can.
What they are asking you is very wrong...

Also try contacting Operation Hope, what your employer is requesting is NOT ETHICAL and, for lack of a better term, is considered slavery.

I also suggest you check through 248am.com and contact the lawyer that writes there, her name is Fajer, she is very helpful, she will tell you also what you can do legally.

Best of luck and keep us posted please.

@ legacy thank you for your advise i appreciate it.. And i already send a message to miss Fajer through her email and ig account regarding the matter and as of now i am still waiting for her reply.. I also contacted the phil. embassy and they said what his doing is unreasonable and illegal and since ive finish my contract with him i have the right to decide wether to stay or leave under his sponsorship

NO. You finished your contract with them. I'm surprised why they are asking for this huge amount of money?

Did you contact the embassy? I'm so sorry this is happening to you :( any updates?
