Its the whole arm and leg tattoos, might look ok now, but not when they are older. - @SimCityAT

I'd be concerned if the wrinkly bits some how unintentionally changed the nature of the picture.

I remember a time when the old non-plastic £5 note could be folded in such a way that our beloved Queen Liz II would appear to be in a compromising position.

I could never see it myself despite trying it but I am sure someone will know how to do it properly.

When I was dealing games in Vegas, you were an automatic no hire if you had tats that could not be covered up.

The Gold Coast Casino where I landed my first dealing job used to hold allot of events; We held the National Rodeo Finals and a National body modification event;

It did make work fun to have these events going on;

We were encouraged to dress in western wear during the rodeo week but not encouraged to get a tat or piercing for the other event.

We also held the Rockabilly week. That was fun.

I can not remember all the events we held at our casino but it made work fun.

Those cowboys were something else; All very polite but crazy as heck; I worked day shift but heard they really went wild after dark.

They would hoop and holler if they got a blackjack. In the evenings some would literally jump up on their chair and scream across the casino to one of their buddies half way across the room, Hoss, I got me a blackjack!!

One day on a full blackjack table a young cowboy in his 20s kept saying things to me like , Your my little Hula dancer, hows about a Hula dance! I tried not to laugh hard but I did laugh, told him he should not talk to me like that because I was old enough to be his mother. He replied back, Hon, we ain,t related!

They were crazy for sure but harmless and nice.

Speaking of Gaydar, in the 70s my older friend knew tons of gay people, men mostly. In fact I got my first ear piercing in Big Sur, Ca; when we hitched up to SF area and stayed in a beautiful home for a few days that was owned by a gay couple she knew; One of the guys did my piecing for me.

Then we stayed a few days in SF in a beautiful Victorian home owned by another gay couple.

They all were loaded, wealthy. They help their own with good jobs and with getting hired.

In S Ca. half the social services dept in the LA office was gay. Our friend worked there and his boos was a friend of my friend; He had us over to dinner once in his Hollywood Hills home. I was 17 and he seemed so old, probably in his 30s;  His room mate was a gay women who worked as a nurse.

We were sitting down to dinner when she came home from work; Said our hellos but she had to run, came downstairs dressed very butch, out of her uniform; She was off to the Lesbian communist party meeting!!

OK, that was different.

He picked us up from our dumpy hotel in his Jag and drove us home after dinner, all nice and formal.

Some of the silly things I used to open myself up for, I suppose we all still do silly things but hopefully I have learned some lessons over time.

Talking of Gaydar, I noticed Donald Trump found the President of Syria attractive.  It was on the news.  That was unexpected for sure.  It's not the kind of hookup I'd have expected as the former terrorist is not a blonde haired Ivanka or Melamine look-a-like and he's a man.   I suppose it could be a kind of leather bear club in the back of the new Air Force One cum Qatar presidential free jet. Who knows what goes on at 38000 ft.   Each to their own I suppose.  Might be dementia.  Donny's forgotten what he likes.

I used to get dressed up for work.  And too old school to have tats.  Over the years, I started off with suits, then ties and jackets, the trousers became jeans and eventually I dropped all pretences and swapped to no tie and polo shirts merging into Hawaiian shirts usually with palm trees on.  I might slip into shorts in the next phase. I could even comb my hair - retirement has it's benefits.   But it's all just another type of uniform anyway.

Good grief, I just learnt my birth town, no longer has custody cells or a court anymore, that along with no maternity unit, an A & E Department, and an Ambulance station, which I knew about. It has a population of 117,000. More and more houses are being built, something like 5000. This is absolutely crazy.

How far away are the nearest public services?

If it's more than about 5 minutes, people are going to die.

Whenever I drive around the UK, I never see any cop cars in towns.  They are usually on the motorways.

  All good, just do not let yourself slip into wearing white socks or black with sandals!!

My mom probably had it right, at age 55 but being the mother of 6 she came to our pool for the day wearing a nice new modest swimsuit; She announced it was going to be her, last season to be wearing a swimsuit, just did not want other people to suffer! No she looked fine for a mother of 6 who had been ill.

Her generation was too hard on themselves.

I know she told me when my then 15 year old uncle first saw her when she was 22, he thought she was a movie star, fur trimmed coats, perfectly put together etc; Even in his late 60s when he used to chat with me on the phone he always mentioned he had a crush on my mom from when he was a teen. She was the prettiest thing he had ever seen at that point. Sweet of him to say.

Darn, I am 70 and if no one wants to see me swim then just do not look!

I have seen some real; Beauties here , no room to talk, there should be a ban on people at a certain size or age wearing a string bikini or any bikini!

Just got home from giving blood at oncology.

Every 6 months I freak out and get through it;

Another test in 10 or so days..

I feel great in fact today on the way home the ticket agent on the subway came up to me, was about to ask for my ID but by getting in my face, all he said was I wish you good health!

Darn I was about ready to grab for my ID.

I heard from my deportee friend;

Still in a shelter run by mean trannies.

She was a victim of a food stamp scam;like I mentioned I read about in the US;

Went to a small shop to buy a roll hat was run by some people from Palistine; She had to scan her card, put in her code and they were watching her closely the entire time; $260. missing from her account after that!

She reported it to the police and the welfare dept;

Not sure what the cops will do but the social services said next month  they will just add it on to her monthly  allowance. WTH?? The US gov is still being taken no matter what Trump says. I am mad, people getting help to come to the US then after opening a small business they turn coat on everyone and steal?  Guess there is more profit in scamming then selling rolls.

I leave my flat everyday with the thought I will spread joy and good feeling to all but I always come home mad and pissed about something!

I'm afraid I've already had socks and sandals.  Not all the time but  guilty as charged!  I'm usually barefoot in my sandals or I wear trainers (with sport socks or those kind of slip on sockette things whatever they are called).  Just another old wrinkly slumming around the place.   You cannot run away from older age.  It's going to catch up with you one day!

Hope your bloods are good.

My grandmother used to wear REAL fur coats.  We actually have those coats here.  We've stored them as  no-one can wear them without being accused of murdering animals.  One of them has a mink stole, complete with head and feet!  Really bad taste but the coats would have looked fabulous on a 1940s night out.  I suppose we can say they are fake.

I wonder if the US deportee in the trans shelter was scammed by Elon Musk?  Perhaps they know things are wrong with his interference and just give in if people complain.  Amazon give in straight away and don't argue.  It's remarkable.  They accept whatever you say, send the item back and they just credit you.  Couple of times they've said just keep it which means I have to recycle it.  Bezos should be running the SSA like Amazon.  Free stuff for all!

Mrs F was really unhappy with the news today - more Orban nonsense.   I wonder how we can leave at the right time.  I'm not supposed to do any improvements to the house in case the Russians come and take over our house and my work.   More years of Orban and more years of Trump, it's enough to make you cry.

Oh, BTW, Orban was supposed to turn up for his weekly radio interview and he just did not arrive.  And no explanation. Let's hope it's nothing trivial.

There are serious issues elsewhere to take our minds off it all.  And that's tomorrow's Eurovision.   Mrs F will be away so I'll be partaking alone.   Kids will be doing their own things.   Another night in paradise.

During the day, I'll be working on my hi-tech birdbath if my back recovers from today's efforts.  We had to dash to Praktiker to get 2 x 25kg additional bags of lime cement.   I really should learn my lesson and not do these things on my own. And heavy lifting will kill me off.   I reckon I'll be unable to even get out of bed.

I need a Gofer to help me.  Someone to Gofer this and Gofer that.

The CZ entry was actually a Slovakian guy hoping bring Slovakia back into Eurovision.  Slovakia has gone the same way as Hungary.  Both are not in Eurovision as they think it's too silly or more probably too gay.  As usual, the right is far too serious for their own good.

We have a bit of a problem here as it probably won't be on the main channels.  And besides, I want the English commentary, not the Hungarian one (if there was ever likely to be one anyway).

However, it looks like we can all watch online via live streaming on YouTube from Eurovision itself.

Demo alert (my highlight and reformat):

16 May 25

There's a demonstration alert regarding several planned protests, which are expected to take place in the city through 20 May 2025.

The alert notes that multiple demonstrations regarding LGBTQ policy in country are expected to take place across District I and District V throughout the afternoon and evening on 17 May.

On 18 May a demonstration in opposition to a government transparency law proposal in parliament is planned for 17:30-00:00 local time (14:30-21:00 GMT) near Kossuth Lajos Square.

Additionally, on 20 May, a protest in opposition to a public assembly law.

Oh go away will you, you are like a bad smell. For your information, this perfectly acceptable and has caused no problems in the passed because Fluffy has posted such information about demonstrations and to avoid the area for as long as I have known him, so over last 10 years. The admin are well aware of such posts.

Nothing political about it. Its to inform members to avoid the area.

It was an alert I received from an alert service I subscribed to previously.  It was work related and they never cancelled it so they keep coming.  It's OK for me.

The attribution was one of the Embassies here in Hungary. I receive the alerts through the service, not directly from an(y) Embassy.

As SimCityAT pointed out, usually they wrap it up with advice to avoid the area. However, I edited out much of the waffle as it's just superfluous. Everyone knows what to do.

It's a bit like coffee cups marked with "contents may be hot" or car mirrors "objects may be closer than they appear". Really?

Bit of scandle from the UK ; apparently the UK delegate (the guy/gal who reads out the points awarded by the UK  after the singing ends, was going to be Ncuti Gatwa - he's the current Doctor Who) has quit; there is speculation as to the reason why, but some of the Press are drawing attention to he quit when he learnt that Israel were through to the final round.  He's being replaced by Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Looking forward to it, it used to be a big thing in our house, we used to always travel back to Holland for the family get together around now.

I did read that too.  Never mind, I like the local presenters.  The kookie one and the dark haired one. The slicked hair slinky one I'm less keen on.

Weirdly, here in Hungary, the entire performance of Israel was lost. Just stopped and buffering on YT. Oddly it came back when it was over. No problems since.

Basel is a tiny place. I was there once in youth. It was really quiet. I see they had to have an overflow venue as the Halle was too small. Imagine if San Marino won. They probably don't have anywhere bigger than a cinema.

We'll see by 1am. I reckon Iceland, Lithuania or Uktaine have a good chance.

Stick to highlights for 2025, there are other things to do!

Besides, everyone needs to be planning for Eurovision 2026.

Obviously Vienna is not so far from Hungary.  It's a chance to participate more directly!

Marilyn Tassy

I forgot all about Eurovision.

To tell the truth, not all that super interested in watching people perform try to get famous and the write a tell all book on how hard it all was once they reached their goal.

I did catch a short video on the  Feminization of men;

Reported that in 1950 the average western man was 5 foot 10 and weighed in at 165 lbs;

In 1990 the average man was 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighed in at 220!

Hormones are wacked out.

Too much sitting around playing games and not using their bodies; Too mush office work behind a desk all day long;

Chemicals in the food and water.

In fact the testosterone levels are down an average of 17%! That is a huge amount!

I wonder if I search if there is a study on the masculinization of women.

Well, that is one way to stop over population.What a rabbit hole that was, at least bunnies will be safe, no more bunny tests!

Yesterday, I could not help myself, some large guy with skin tight beige slacks on zoomed past our parked car on a scooter; I just looked at my husband and said, he is a 17%er!

You're not missing much on Eurovision.   Don't waste your time now we know the result.  It's a terrible song.  People lost their marbles voting for that.

I do agree, it's probably chemicals which is causing fertility issues.

Between us, Mrs F and I have 4 kids.  I think we've done our bit.  We would have had another one to make 5 in total but Mrs F said she was too tired and to be realistic, it wouldn't have been fair that we'd had a third one when we're getting older.  The risks were a bit higher as we were into our 40s when the last one arrived.  I do in some ways regret we don't have a 12 year old jumping about the place.  But now's the time for grandkids. I'm ready for that now and I've let the older kids know I'm ready so they should get on with it.   I don't think they pay any attention to me any more.

Everyone is saying Wegovy is drug which might fix all sorts of problems.  But we're all eating the wrong food and laying around.  I blame the food manufacturers for the food and ourselves for not living outside enough.  Too much sugar, too much salt, too many "wrong" ingredients that are unhealthy.  And I love being outside in the countryside.   Much are just bad habits we learn as kids.  We have a fussy eater and I've told him that he needs to select better food as if he doesn't, he'll be sick or even die.   It's shock tactics.  But it's not worked so far unfortunately. It's become a bit of a contentious issue with Mrs F and I.  I said, stop pandering to him.  If he gets hungry enough he'll fit in but so far, she's delivering him whatever he wants which is often the same thing each day.   Drives me mad.

I'm afraid your 17% scooter rider is probably one of those people who OD on Lycra and thinks just wearing it makes them healthier.  Like fitness by clothing association.   Problem with Lycra is that it just exposes all the rolls of flab!  Like paint and filler on rusty cars, loose fitting "skater" clothes covers a multitude of sins.

Marilyn Tassy

Our son was the worst eater alive.

He would only take breast milk for his first 13 months of life;

Hated to have any water and forget solid food;

I found the only solid food he would try was sweet potato and sometimes mashed banana. Found some organic baby cereal he ate after being a year old, made in Switzerland.

At his one year old BD I ordered a nice cake, husband gave him a tiny bit, he cried hard and spit it out.

Never ate much or everything growing up, only good cuts of fresh fish, nothing on the reasonable side like tuna, only swordfish or salmon and then only without any bones.

My husband was also a fussy eater even in commie Hungary; His mom spoiled the heck out of her 3 children; After a long day on her feet working, she would go to small shops, stand in line and carry home baskets full of fresh food, Come home and ask what each child wanted and sometimes she made 3 different meals!

What??

My mom was a eat it or go without cook; If we refused our dinner, she would put it in the fridge and serve it for our breakfast! If that did not work, she might break down and give it to the dog!

Our son still is not an over eater but he eats healthy and has a balanced diet, lots of seaweed. For ages he would go to special Asian shops in Vegas and buy one piece of fresh ginseng for like $15., he said it was good to make T, testosterone. IDK, he is not a father, yet.

My grandfather was going on 50 when mom was born so I guess there is still hope.

I have noticed that Hungarian moms tend to spoil their children, might be a Eastern European thing as my granny used to do the same with my father.

I about lost it on our first visit to Hungary; My husband was served breakfast in bed by his mother!!

I thought , no way had he get used to this!

13 months on breast milk only is a bit too long BUT they do say breast is best.

On the other hand, my son is 15 years old. About time he ate something sensible like curry (now a UK national dish), chile con carne,  goulash, paprikas chicken and fish and chips. Without trying them, I don't know how he'll survive between the two cultures of Hungary and the UK.

Chicken nuggets from McDs is not food and calling McD's restaurants is pushing the meaning of the word to an extreme.

I don't think I could cope with breakfast in bed now. It'll be eating in an unnatural position slouching.  I mean, good posture will help later in life.  I know! I'm a serial sloucher!  No wonder my back hurts.  I've been doing some exercises to try and get my disk nerve impingement to go back in.   I was working on a car yesterday and I could hardly manage bending over to get to the engine.  Not for very long anyway.

Our daughter will eat anything really.  She's up for Korean food all the time but will eat normal food.  Personally I don't like kimchi. It's far too stinky for my liking.  Overdoing the ingredients is not creative.  It's numbing the senses!

Anyhoo, look at de Niro and Pacino - both still firing on all cylinders and fathers of very young children.  Good for them!  However, their young kids will never really know their fathers.  Both likely to kick the bucket.  More chance of that happening than not knowing their ages.

I don't know about other men, but I still rather enjoy trying to get a little from time to time.

And what about the woman?  Does she like it?

I've tasted breast milk as an adult.  Security at airports used to - on occasion - tell you to take a sip when travelling with young children.  Personally I thought it was pretty horrible. It's watery and relatively tasteless.  It's not something you'd want to put in your tea.

From an adult's perspective,  it's surprising that babies like it.   Or that they get everything they need from it.

I wonder if they can make a tasty adult version for astronauts or explorers - like an emergency MRE version?

Now I come to think about it, I wonder what they are going to give the Gazans who are now starving.  I suppose a nutrition regime like they had to develop when the concentration camps were liberated.  I did read that those who had been starved there, if they ate normal food immediately, they'd suffer more  and die.   Cachexia is pretty horrible.

Only one woman?

However, if we say women in order to maintain accuracy, they love it as long as you are gentle.

The Israeli government, and anyone regardless of nationality or anything else who supports them, are very clearly utterly nasty.

Yes, of course the extremism Hamas displays is bad news, but that's no excuse for the Israeli GOVERNMENT and IDF to do what the Nazis did.

Babies don't have teeth. And they do nip when they do.

And besides, how is it possible for the sucker to use two suckees at the same time?  Surely that's  anatomically impossible?!

The theme of this has become not about baby nutrition but sexualisation of women's breasts.

Looks like it's got limited mileage.

My sons pediatrician on Maui had no problems with my son not wanting solid foods.

I tried all the time for him to eat something solid from age 6 months but he was not interested.

My sons doctor was super cool, he had braces on his legs from childhood polio and always went for the more natural ways; He had no problem when we did not circumcise him either.

In fact he said if it is not for religious purposes why do it.

Every mom I knew on Maui nursed their baby, no one used bottles. My next door neighbor had a son 2 weeks older then mine, her second baby. The few times she watched him for me she nursed my son herself; Hippies.

I guess milk would spoil if bottled and sitting out on the beach with it.

IDK, my mother mentioned that my Ryusn grandmother nursed my father till he was 3 or 4.

He never said anything about it to me.

He was healthy his entire life, never had a cold or flu and starting in his 30s never exercised much, always remember him laying about with a beer and cig. Went from figure skating to being a lay about.He was hit in his car by a bus and had internal bleeding, his heart gave out on him in hospital age 67.

My mother had an issue with me nursing my son when I came to Ca and stayed with her for a bit.

Otherwise,IDK how long it would of gone on;

Of course mom had 6 children and never nursed any of us. Almost did my brother in as an infant as he was allergic to all formulas.Finally he was able to digest soy milk formula.

IDK why mom did not nurse us, she stayed at home with us and had the time.

I remember before my son was born when I asked my Hungarian husband if I should use a bottle or nurse.

He gave me the weirdest look and said what are they for if not for a baby.

In the west people are so hung up on breasts, seems plastic ones are more popular then functioning natural ones are.

One thing I know nursing keeps you in great shape, no need to diet.
