Absolutely Anything Else
It seems true,between the two of them their monthly income is $11,500!!
I think we live on less then that here for a full year!
Money can not buy love, it is true!
At least he wrote our cousin and included some phone numbers of people he can trust in Ca;
Well, IDK, one is his own son, one who suppose to have given him a hot shot in the ICU!
What a story, should be made into a horror film.
I told my cousin to request a new lawyer and maybe get a restraining order out against his wife, fair play after all.
I never knew such a evil greedy person before in all my 70 years.
Too bad he married a witch; I now understand the old customs of family picking out spouses and getting approval from parents first.
I honestly think she is trying to off him so he can not get his share of things.
He fell into the spiders web.
Man, I swear this never could of happened if our family was alive and we knew his situation; She would find herself at the bottom of the sea by now!
My mother would be happy to do time to save him.
Hate to say it but she is not going to get anything from him if he does serious time; The gov will cut off his funds until he is out. Better that way then for her to get her greedy hands on it.
It is really cold here now, the wind is too much.

$11,500 is just buckets of money. They could have a fantastic life on that without the BS. They need to focus their attention on other matters, not trying to score points off each other.
Do they stop his payments if he's in jail? I could sort of see that but surely his money is paid federally and he's in a state jail. Does it matter to the Feds as it's his entitlement? Or would he have to pay the state back for his incarceration? And what happens if he's found not guilty? Simply banged up for no reason at all. Seems a distinctly ropey kind of set up.
That son needs to have his head examined. What the hell was he thinking injecting drugs into his Dad in hospital? I cannot believe anyone can be so irresponsible. Must have a drug addled brain. Out of all things, I feared any of my kids getting involved with drugs. So far so good. I smoked a bit of weed, didn't like it much. Thought it was rubbish. A friend of mine liked snorting coke but I don't think he does that now. It's not an older persons game being on that kind of thing.
BTW, my son took a video on a HU bus where the driver, jumped out and started fighting with a gypsy after the driver shut the doors and the gypsy called the driver a motherf***er. They were fighting at the bus stop.
There's another video on Index.hu showing a paramedic kicking a patient in the head as he was laying on a gurney. He got fired instantly.

I'm not sure what Trump is doing now. 100% tariffs on China... the markets are going to be in a mess on Monday. Cost of living could double over night or more.

Gosh, hope not!
Look at some information on hos the Hungarian Pengo went.
A real nightmare.
The cost of things more then doubled within 15 hours a day.
Trump is doing all sorts of tricky things right now, really is a mess.

I found peace for a week or so but this letter from my bro got me going again.
My husband says there are two sides to every story; He is such a Libra at times, always seeking the truth and fairness;
Well, sorry for me the way I was raised it is family first, right or wrong; loyalty till death.
Our mother would use the strap on us if we ever ran and did not defend a sibling or friend.
Maybe it is a native American trait? Never run and never back down?
I can walk away from a argument anytime without saying a word but once it gets physical, something takes me over and I see red.
Saw that article about the guy getting kicked in the head, saw the video too.
Old commie medical care!! My husband was 19 or so and a machinist; The youngest guy at the job; Some older dude had a BD and everyone was swigging on homemade palika after work. Cheers!
My skinny husband showed off and gulped way too much really fast.
Went in the work shower reached for the soap and passed out. The guys found him and one ran out to get milk to make him sick and get rid of the brandy. They then laid him in a storage room to recover and left the light on, just tossed some work outfits on top of him to cover him up.
The night guard saw the light on and looked; Called the cops on my passed out hubby.
One cop kicked him in the head to se if he would wake up!! The kick deformed the top of his ear a tiny bit;
Woke up in the drunk tank; the one that is right across from our flat!!
I mean who the heck kicks a person in the head who is no threat??
IDK, there are some bus drivers who are great, wait for people open the doors and put the brakes on slowly. Others I also want to kick in the head, slamming brakes on and going fast on huge pits in the roadway.
Beautiful day.
Had the idea of going to the antique market and looking around.
Just had a bad head ache in the morning;
Need to distance myself from family dramas.
I get too intense at times for my own good.
Although, my mind went to a dark place and thought oh ya, it was not my brothers son or ex wife that gave him a hot shot of meth while he was in a coma in the ICU.
His evil wife probably was behind it and put the blame on his son and ex!
Scary but once you see a persons true colors, anything is possible.
His son will get his life insurance and his wife is so greedy she probably was hoping he would change his policy.
Dang he met a real life Jezebel.
Bought a lotto today, fingers crossed, first thing I will spend on is a good defense lawyer for my bro.
Wish I could say a hit man too but not going there!
Everyone does pay for their crimes at some point in time, in this world or the next. She will come back as a roach if reincarnation is real, if not the flames of hades will get her, or who really knows where an evil soul goes.
My brothers good friend is named, Jim Jones, I am calling him, Jim, do not drink the kool-aid Jones.
I am sure the guy as heard it all over the years;

Mrs Fluffy sent me pictures of the doggy while on a walk. It did look very sunny but with a tinge of October in it. Here, it's 30C every day.
Maybe it was the Jezebel who tried to do him in. But that sounds a bit paranoid. Ok, things are not good now, but were they any good back then? You said she was never there at the ICU etc.
If my name was Jim Jones, I think I'd change it. Luckily I'm not Jim or Jones. I'd hate to be associated with the Kool-Aid. I remember that incident and the video. Horrible. What a bunch of lunatics! There was another one where they all thought they'd go to an alien space ship which would take them to heaven. But to do that, they had to die. That's it with cults. Who in hell would die for a cult? Would MAGA people die for Don "No Nobel Prize" Trumpatino? Don Donny? You first with the Kool-Aid MAGA-people. Meh, cheap jibes.
Anyhoo, I'd consider changing my name to Toby Jones. This Toby name has occurred several times recently.
My friend has a cat called Toby.
And my eldest says her son will be called Toby - when he arrives, if ever. I'm ready for grandkids. It's time.
Some good news, my bro,s son has his van for safe keeping!
One less thing for the witch to summon up.
He see the judge today.
Hope so at least,not sure about anything.
Selling American style cheesecake today at Lidl.
Think I can polish that off quickly since it is total comfort junk food.
I could use some comfort, not Southern Comfort though! Yikes, had a 3 day hang over at 18 from that stuff; Can not even look at a bottle of it now.
My husband wants grandkids now,he is actually mad with our son about not getting to work on it; IDK, My DIL is in her early 40s and not sure what is going on.
We have Jones in the family list of surnames, think it is Welch??
Also so many odd Slavic names no one can pronounce.
Toby, sorry it does seem like a cats name.
Names are important though. People make judgements right away by just hearing a name.

People do make judgements on names. And they get names mixed up with people. My name is not a name associated with serial killers. That's not 100% true. You know my name but others don't know it and I'm not sharing it here!
Yes, Jones is Welsh. Whole villages are called Jones. To distinguish, it's Jones the Baker, Jones the Post, Jones the street sweeper. It's a stereotypical thing for the Welsh.
My friend adores his Toby cat since his Mrs passed. Our cat has numerous names. Some rude depending on the moment and how angry she is. She's abusing us, not us her. We're nice to her but she's a paranoid schizophrenic. Flips in a second.
I'm with your hubby. Get on with those grandkids. 40 is a bit old but could be done if the machinery works! Just do it. There's never a right time but some times are better than others. I am not sure about how childless couples feel. My bro and his wife do not have children. I've asked them several times about it and they don't seem to care. They have a dog instead. Their cat died. I did ask them about adoption and they rejected the entire concept. I find it hard to understand. I guess you don't miss what you never had. But there's a different story sometimes. My parents neighbour was childless but it wasn't through choice. She had a daughter but she died young, like 8 years old. That was really a trauma. Sometimes there's more to childless than we might recognise.
I also got smashed on Southern Comfort. Absolute worst hangover I ever had. I thought I was going to die! Bit of Lidl cheesecake might have been the cure.
Good the van is saved! He'll need it when he comes out. Maybe the son could tidy it up ready for him. Give it a good wash, polish and vacuum.
Looks like yesterday was some sort of holiday in the US so maybe they messed up and he did not get his day in court?
My cousin sent me a file and looks like it has been moved up to Nov.
Darn, he will be spending his BD being bars!
No cake I suppose, defo no candles.
I wonder if part of the punishment is going through all the ups and downs of going through the system.
Diddy got away with just a few years, money does talk.
Names, I wish we had chosen a different name sometimes for our son.
It is old Persian and Indian. Means noble, educated or golden.
Actually our old room mate on Maui suggested the name. Said it was a good name for his zodiac sign;
I no longer give much credence to zodiacs .
I actually do not think our DIL wants children. Sort of an issue between our boy and her now.
My brother and his wife never had children, she had 3 boys of her own.
My crazy sister did the world a favor and had none!
My eldest sister had none either, 4 husbands and no children, not sure what was going on there.
Our son was not planned but it was also welcome.
I was 20 and physically it was nothing to me. Worked in a physical job, running around carrying heavy trays all day long on my feet till over 6 months along;
Might of worked longer but back then they sort of frowned on a server with a big tummy running around; I got to the largest uniform they had, a size 14 and that was it. I packed up and went to Maui.
I would never do such a thing if I was 40. I did not think twice about it really, thought OK that is my life path, do not fight it. Talk about going with the flow, Hippie brained!
My deceased sister was also 20 when she was going to be a mom; 8 months along and still riding horses.
Doubt an older women would be doing that.
Cheesecake was very small, 475 grams. We finished only 1/4th of it between us; I thought I could eat the whole cake myself, it is small.
Tasted OK but not a nice NY style one for sure.
Was cheap, only 1,500 forints so can not say anything bad about it.

Yup. I get it with kids. Having older parents, I am not to sure about. Mrs F and I were older. Perhaps it helps as we were more established, had better finances and were stable and not battling careers. But it does get you back. I am not able to do as much as I would if I was 20 years younger. Mrs F and I considered another one but she said she was too old. It was very understandable. No good mourning kids that didn't exist. Or perhaps we (I really) were some how grieving for our own youth. Heavy stuff.
Maybe your bro will get a cake from the other inmates. OK, bit optimistic, it's not a boy scout camp with everyone singing Kumbaya around the camp fire. Diddy is an idiot and won't be missed. Not by me anyway - was never on my radar.
Today is work work work. I'm getting to old for this nonsense. I need cheesecake (sugar free).
My mother had her first baby at 23, her last my bro in jail at 46. I mean he is in jail, not mom!
Huge age difference between the eldest and youngest.
The last 2 are half sibs and mom sort of spoiled them more then us other 4.
They are now the 2 problem children.
Mom used to say when they were teens and she was an older cancer patient that she just did not have the strength to beat the crap out of them like she did with her other children.
What?, They did get away with some murder though.
It was common when I was a kid for all of my friends to get a butt kickin at times.
My Vegas friend, had it pretty bad actually, at the time only a few of us knew about it, I did not know until a couple years ago.
Her mom used to forced them to do deep knee squats and hold them.
No wonder she got a knee replacement!
We just never considered not listening to our parents.
No meant no.
Yesterday inside Lidl as we were checking out the clerk, a really nice red headed lady who always is helpful was helping an old man, I mean he must of been 99 if not a day older.
Sort of sad, I think his confusion was about the bottle deposit charge.
The clerk wrote it all down on paper for him and I was about to ask my husband if perhaps the guy was short on money and we should just do a good deed and help out. Also have to be careful not to insult someone so not an easy call.
My husband later said he was silly buying 2 bottles of Coke, I told him do not judge, he may of bought it for some great grandchildren who are going to visit him. Never know.Maybe he believe Coke adds life like the old add used to say.

I really do not like this idea of physically punishing kids. I've always found kids fear most of all the withdrawal of love and exclusion. Taking that away from kids can reduce even the most naughty kid to tears in minutes. To feel OK, even better than good, kids needs food, warmth, sleep, certainty, safety, affection and room to grow their brains (all kinds of stimulation). I think it's a failure of parenting to do otherwise. Ok, people might ask what do I know? 4 kids is what I know. They are all generally OK - 3 are adults and 1 close behind. Never resorted to violence. We tried to give them room to grow and be themselves in a safe environment. Now they've all got opinions and don't mind telling us! That's great! It could easily have gone so wrong, even we know that. I do know they have never had to struggle. It's an extremely middle class safe life. We are so centered on them, I wonder what we will be like when they've all flown the nest. We could be sitting there in the dark waiting for them to call. We will have to find something for us to do!
When I think of my Dad at 99, he could work a touch payment terminal, tapping his debit card but the mobile phone really was a step too far. I think partially it was because he was quite deaf. And he didn't really care. At 99, why does anyone care about anything much? Every day is a bonus. I was with my Dad when bought a used car on a trade in at about age 85. The salesman was asked if he wanted an extended warranty. He burst out laughing. He soon put him straight. He felt he could pop off at any minute! The 3 year warranty it came with was just fine! As it happened, he went on to 99, another 14 years. He stopped driving at about 95 or 96.
I remember that Coke thing - brings you alive or something. The Chinese version was it brings your ancestor back from the dead. There are a few of those things - Opel Nova - didn't go well in Spain, as No-va apparently means doesn't go. And then there's Pajero 4WD car. It actually means a**hole somewhere like Venezuela. My parents had an amusing tin of something called Sod - from Norway. As far as I know they never opened it but brought it out to show people. Not sure it's quite so funny now.
I also do not really believe in spanking . My husband would not allow me to spank our son, he said to let him know what was up when he got home from work and he would deal with it.
Well, by then I had forgotten what he did wrong!
He got away with murder most times.
My mom was raised by Victorian era women, they used that tree branch as a whip for correction.
Mom had to help clean house, her aunt would literally put on a white glove and run her hand over things!
My friend Lisa told a funny story, her mom was cool, had been in the US Navy during WW2 and was from Alabama, had a cute accent. Raised 5 children and always worked full time .
We had one of Lisa and her bros famous house parties one weekend when her parents were gone; For some reason her mom got mad about all the beer bottles in the trash can. We always helped Lisa clean house every Sunday morning before her parents came home.
Lisa and her mom got into a verbal fight.
Her mom picked up a broom and started to chase Lisa; She ran out the door as the screen door shut, her mom punched a hole in the door.
Not so funny but it was.
My friend Holly had a step dad come into her life in HS.
One night he and her mom had a verbal fight and he took his gun and shot a hole in the ceiling!
They soon divorced.
I looked it up, seems Sod or Sodd in Norway is a fish soup.
I remember in Vegas when 2 Hungarian guys came in and asked the cocktail waitress to give them a Puszi.
Not sure how to spell it in Hungarian but she slapped their faces!
Half crazed sister went off once again on the older sister.
I want to kick her in the pants, talk about violence.
She put some ill fitting clothing in a bag and asked the eldest to toss it out.
Like she is her servant.
Well by mistake the elder one took out the wrong bag. Not sure why there are bags laying around the place but that does not matter.
The youngest flipped out and said the eldest was stealing from her!
Finally adult services was called by the older sister.
Useless, they said they would file a report and get back in 2 to 3 weeks!!
They told her to call the cops and they would remove her but she would have to pick her up later?
What is going on???
Once she is out, I would change the locks!!!

It sounds like meltdown in Sister-Land. What do you think is going to happen there? Is halfie that crazy she needs to be in an institution or is she just exercising her rights to be "eccentric"?
It's happened to me taking the wrong bag. Our daughter put something in a bag and shoved in the door pockets of the car. I just took everything and dumped it as it was all mixed with similar bags. I thought it was all trash. How did I know what was in there? I got it in the neck but honestly, people should be more careful. I was quite upset because the daughter was upset.
Yes, I think Sod or Sodd is indeed fish soup. That rang a bell. I don't know if it's soup with like rotten fish buried in the ground type approach.
Your HU spelling of "puszi" was 100% correct. We use puszi-puszi all the time! Or just pusz.

Accessible guns and family disputes do not mix. There's a TV show called "Murdaugh: Death in the Family" coming out soon. About some looney guy who goes off the rails and murders his wife and son. Murder and mayhem seem to be everywhere in that particular guy's life. Litany of fraud, drugs, murder and just death.
Spanking. Absolute no-no. Kids are at the mercy of their parents who they depend on for everything. It's a disaster for children not to feel safe. I feel that from own early life and I am determined not to be the same. I wouldn't say I was abused but I would say I was just "alone".
Tree branches for punishment needs prison time. That's assault.
Good on you as the Brits say!
Yes, my friends and family were schooled hard;
My HU husband never had a spanking in his life; sort of spoiled, some of the things he did should of been, nipped in the bud as the saying goes.
He grew up dirt poor in the 5th district, back then it was not posh just another district.He had no t allot much but allot of love from his mother and granny and uncles. My MIL had 7 brothers, only girl.She was the baby too, her twin bro passed shortly after birth. She was sort of raised as a boy. God help anyone trying to date her with so many older brothers.
Hubby was so shocked when he learned about how I was schooled.
It is all good, someone has to break the cycle and it was me ; my sister and Lon, my bro.
Was nothing for mom to pull our hair out by the roots for making a minor mistake.
All is forgiven.
She had her own issues to deal with; most people would of cracked if they were experiencing what she had lived through.
Got a funny message from my cousin, screen shot of a text from halfie.
She wants to be our bros rep; his power of attorney!!
Like he dies not have enough problems!
People really are delulu.
Her getting her sticky fingers on his account!
Someone who could not even keep their own home with a $200; a month payment!
I am mad, like she has given up on him getting bail at his next court date.
My Vegas friend said property in Vegas is going down.

That is utterly bonkers. Like putting a crazy fox in charge of the hen house. Definitely avoid that!
I wonder if your halfie actually does have some mental issues that could be clinically diagnosed. I know some people lead chaotic lives and really shouldn't be allowed things like sharp knives or scissors.
I don't think I could cope with someone like that. I would not have the patience. I might try but day in and day out, it'd be really difficult.
My bro has a disabled son and he has to work with him to keep him on straight and narrow but he's actually able to live independently. As a disabled person he very little ambition and is very satisfied with the simplest things. Loves his gardening. He'll do the same things repetitively and be enormously satisfied. Ideal factory worker really. He'd put things in boxes 24x7. He is not allowed to drive at all. Far too much information to cope with.
Maybe halfie just has to be managed.
I reckon property will go down in the USA. There's going to be a materials shortage and prices will increase because of the tariffs. And with the shutdown, people won't have money to spend. The knock-on will be substantial everywhere. So much for government jobs being secure. It's a weird system. In other countries, not agreeing the budget would bring down the government and there would have to be an election. Obviously the Teflon Don isn't going to roll over and let that happen
I would be wanted by the FBI by now if halfie was anywhere near me.
IDK how Jane can stand it. Her new faith is Jesus is her strength.
Well, I believe but am no buddies fool!
It is strange the eldest had super high standards years ago, what is going on?
Yes, Lon lost his leg but not his mind!!
Sorry about the nephew, I did hair etc; on some clients with limited abilities, most were kind and sweet; total innocent types.
I still remember one evening doing hair when a older women in her retirement years came in with her daughter in a wheelchair.The daughter had to be in her 40s.
The salon was slow so I sat and chatted with the mom as another stylist did the girls hair.
Sweet mother, said she and her husband had the means and friends to enjoy travel and retirement but their lives were devoted to raising their handicapped daughter and seeing she could do things on her own.
The mom told us to let her girl pay, if she made a mistake she would correct it etc.
So tough to see; The mom said she was their only child and she had her late in life.
Said it was sometimes hard to hear how much fun their friends were having taking trips etc; while they stayed home trying to help their child.
Beautiful weather here today, got some sun and took a nice walk.
Vegas friend is so happy they sold their large house a year ago because ATM it would of done them in paying all those bills.

Jesus loves you! Apparently. Never seen the guy anywhere he was needed. Sorry, I know some people like it. But really? Come on!? I've been watching the very good TV show Resident Alien. I've got more faith in the fictional aliens in that show than any holy book.
I can imagine they are better off in a smaller place than the desert house. It'll be a lot easier to manage and if she's sick, she'll need all kinds of help.
My parents downsized over time, smaller places each time. My Dad was a selfish guy. He just did what he wanted without consulting my Mum. She'd be all set up somewhere and he'd just say, we're moving and she didn't have a choice but to go along with it. I asked her about it and she said she'd resisted in the early days but was usually worn down over time by my Dad. He was really stubborn and an awful nag. But he was still my Dad. I tried to tell him that it had a really bad effect on us kids but he didn't get it or didn't want to. That's one reason I said, we're not going anywhere until the kids are adults and independent. They should have absolutely long term solid friends. It looks like it's just about worked out.
Hmm, my dad took the cake on being selfish.
Everyone loved him and he got on with everyone, mostly the ladies!!
I think back and most of the huge fights between my parents were caused by him flirting with another women; married or not, he did not care!
I sort of remember the wedding fiasco in Conn.
I remember allot from my toddler years, must of made a huge impression on my mind.
Big ,huge beautiful German wedding with live band, huge dance floor food to die for and the largest wedding cake ever, The brides father was a baker.
In the car going home mom was screaming about how mortified she was.
My father, the dancer grabbed the new bride and swung around the dance floor; He spun her into all sorts of moves, was a bit drunk and stepped on her long wedding dress, RIP, yes, rest in peace for the dress!
Dad had mom agree to sell out sweet little house in a quiet town in Conn with it, s huge yard and her family close by to go to S.Ca.in 1959;
His two sister lived there with their husbands and children and they told him how great it was: Sunny, good jobs etc;
Sold the house moved there and within a short time, less then a year they were divorced. Mom could not bring herself to admit how horrible things went to her family so suffered in silence.
Dad got moms new friend, a married women living right across from us pregnant!!!
My bro was 3 at the time, I ,7 the older girls 12 and 14. What a mess!
Mom was tough as nails and found a rental house and moved us all away, left dad behind to clean up his own mess.
His way out was to dump that women let her sucker husband deal with it and he moved on the Bel Air to be the houseman to some super rich old women with no children!
Looks can get ya by, for a spell at least.
We used to always say, our father was a lousy dad but a great guy to have for an uncle.
- @Marilyn Tassy
I also do not believe in spanking/ similar by default.
Also in most cases not necessary at all, just many people do lack in other measures.
But it must be always in the background, not as a treat, but an unavoidable promise: if other measures have no effect, than a spank or slap also among the options: one way or another results will be provided, consequence will be present.
So the ones who are unable at least that bad like the ones who are eager.
In my experience the best practice is to explain a whole chain of events, what happens by which reasons, and lead to which possible results/ outcomes. Most kids over 6-7 are sensible enough to understand progresses before public school system makes them a dullard snowflake a few years later.

I heard the judge sentencing him. Essentially life with a minimum a touch under 16 years. Horrible thing to happen to anyone.
Earthquake!
Early this morning (22 Oct 2025) about 1am, there was an earthquake near Kecskemet.
That's about 80km perhaps from my village. It was 4.1 magnitude and at a depth of 10km. A lot of people wouldn't have noticed although closer to the epicentre there could have been a bit of shaking.
I was just laying in bed and I heard a low rumble. I thought someone was trying to steal my car as my car has a low burble. I had to get up and check it was still there. Couldn't see a thing and car was still in place.
I just wonder if the rumble was actually the quake and I wonder if anyone else heard it or felt it?

Got 16 years, but as he was in detention since when it happened in February, it will be less, 15 years and 160 days.
And because his name is Mohammed Umar Khan, the usual suspects took to social media to air their views. I won't list what has been said, but you can imagine, and yet AGAIN, nothing is done or said to them.

Just had to be a guy with that name. Yup, they will be after that community.
It's a bit of a free for all now. Anyone can take a pop at a minority whoever they are
Not to make Harvey's murder any notable. A brutal and unnecessary act.

I had one spank one slap at age 7 on my bottom from my father. He had tears in his eyes while it happened.
I had slapped my 3 year old brother to protect him from hurting himself in my mind;
My father just did not like girls slapping boys so he tried to stop the practice before it became a habit.
I had the responsibility at that age of watching my brother so I felt I was doing him good but alas...
My mom on the other hand was very aggressive with us. She thought fear was best.
In fact her fire and anger forced me to run away from home at 17.
It had reached the boiling point.
My step father also practiced physically correcting us.
Leaves lasting mental scares.Sometimes physical ones too. My sisters jaw cracked all the time after a punch in the face in her teen years for a minor thing. Oh well, she never spanked her child thankfully and my niece is very sweet;
My sisters horrible BF once punched her in the face so hard she woke up in the morning on their kitchen floor, got dressed went to work and a few hours later she called me saying she had to leave work and see a dentist; Her jaw was broken in 3 places. He was on smack and IDK what she was on to not feel pain for hours.
Spanking children leads to them excepting hitting others as normal, which it is not.
I told my husband about my crazy parents and he just could not believe it. He never had a spanking in his life.
I take it back, my niece did have an evil step mom for awhile. I remember now she said she used to spank her.
The step mom later fell out of a boat and drown.
IDK, some kids I see could use the fear of a whacking, not all but some.
My mom loved correcting children so much that she even spanked the neighbors kids!!

Wow, they have stepped up their game since the days of card counting.
I am starting to feel like it is hard to trust anything,
Banks, the internet, even family.
Not my family but my hubbies.
Long story of over 50 some years but basically, the SIL, married to my husbands brother is greedy as heck;
Not as sophisticated as poor Lon,s wife is but in the same club.
The other day my husband went onto FB; he never checks there I have been banned for a couple more months from FB.
People might think we bit the dust, IDK;
He checks his site and notices a message from an old friend from the way past; Some HU guy we knew in Ca; and Hi; He retired back in S Hungary with a fe wother of the old gang.
We do not hang with them, they always held themselves as a small group of guys from Szeged, my husband is a city boy so not really part of their club.
Only the type of friends who are nice when they want something out of you.
Yes, after 50 some years, my eyes have been opened!
Anyways, our SIL contacted this guy asking him to contact my hubby.
She and my BIL live in Erd so why have a go between that she does not even know?
I told my husband she , the greedy person she is is fishing.Trying to see if we are still kickin it and what she may get out of our demise!
I warned our son the vultures are flying!
I hope I am just trippin, but she never wanted contact with us in the past for almost 20 years, why bug us now??
I do not care if the BIL is ill or anything, they never wanted to contact us so why the olive branch now?? No way, not answering the doorbell if it rings!
They always felt we were rich and owed them something, no they have a insane view on the matter; We are probably in the same boat they are in at this time in history.
No longer business owners with energy to spare.
IDK, but I am paranoid now.Close to 80 years old on their side, give up the ghost already!!

I think the scammers are everywhere now. One has to think twice on anything to do with money.
My view was LV was always a gangster paradise but that's formed through movies like Goodfellas and just the history of the place. As you know, I have been there and it's a mad Disneyland for adults.
But I did always think, why resort to crime when governments can be bought and suckers will lose money in a licensed and regulated to casino? It's zero risk to be legit. The house always wins.
It sounds a bit suspicious someone is trying to find out your status here. Why not simply ask you or send a text message? Maybe the BIL is sick. I mean, if he's older, perhaps he is and it's reconnecting. Paranoid is more interesting of course. It's good to think of different drivers to suddenly get in contact.
I mean, like the Russia saying, "Trust, but verify". Kind of an oxymoron of a saying. Really "Trust" but "not really". Russians have philosophy. Shame they cannot apply themselves to human improvement instead of trying to be the next Klingon Empire.
The BIL lives in Erd, he is an ex taxi driver, he could of visited us years ago if he was interested in us at all;
Yes, might be ill but he is not alone, everyone gets something over the years.I would rather stay no contact with him;
At least as long as his wife is alive.
She was mean to my MIL and just wanted money for helping her with small errands etc.
Greedy people put me off so much.
Some people have no limits.
When our son spent one I mean just one night at their house years ago, he was charged $100. to sleep in their tiny cluttered sewing room. Well to be honest, my husband suggested he give his uncle some money, they were more then happy to take it and not give him any change for one night stay.
Her son spent 2 months with us, gave us $300; towards his food etc; Went home with half a new wardrobe and about $500 cash. We let him work in our machine shop so he could go home with something.
He was an uninvited guest too. Even even robbed us of a few things we found out afterwards.
Fair is fair in my mind.
My BIL lived about a 5 min; walk away from my elderly MIL;
My husband asked his bro to check on their mother a couple times a day,make sure her meds were taken, she was eating etc; He asked my husband what was in it for him, His wife wanted to get paid for checking in on their mother!!
Neither was working at the time so not an issue of finding time to check on her. They were retired and had income.
Really bad behavior .
As usual with family matters, things get complicated at times.
The SIL and BIL built houses years ago on land that was suppose to also go to my husband;
He was left out; So my MIL made a will leaving half her property to him to make up for him getting pushed out of the land deal;
The BIL thought he should also get a chunk of his moms half of the property just for showing up once or twice a week to see if she was still alive! My generous husband told him to help their mother and when he figured out how much help he was, he would give him something for his time!
My MIL got wind of that and said no way, your bro should get nothing from you because he and his wife have gotten enough already; One reason she made her will to exclude the bro from her will.
My husband thinks the SIL is still after getting paid to have broken down a few times to see of the lady was still kickin or not!
Just so strange and greedy; I personally owe them squat and prefer to not even hear or see from them again.
I have even gone so far as to tell my husband if either of us kick it, do not even bother informing them. I do not need their prayers and fake blessings.

I should add the SIL also told my husband years ago to not ever call his own brother; She wants total control over him.
I should pull the same BS and say, you are not allowed to call your brother!
Can you imagine trying to control someone like that for over 55 some years?
How could they try to put a price tag on caring for their mother, MIL?
It is disgusting to me on so many levels. In fact at the MIL funeral, my husband dropped everything in th states to attend.
The BIL and SIL,s two adult children left the service angry and early because the priest did not mention their names when mentioning family members!
Ego city!!

I am surprised relatives charged for a room. And what's in it for them? That's mad. How can it be so transactional? And checking on Mom? WTF? Mrs F disliked her mother but still looked after her as Mrs F has strong beliefs on social obligations. I don't think anyone cried at her mother's funeral. I never cried at my own parents funerals. It just happened and was all expected. We moved on.
It's interesting (in one way) how the parents keep the kids (ok, adults) in order until they pass and suddenly it's like open warfare, usually about property. Becomes a kind of money and land grab. I don't know if that's human nature or what. I've seen before any thoughts of social justice and fairness just go out the window.
I had a similar situation that could have been a property/asset grab. My Dad had a bit of cash plus his property which had to be dished out. I am one of five kids of which there are 4 of us left. My Dad's will was explicit. It was to split up the cash assets between the surviving offspring. It was purposefully designed like that.
One of my brothers took the view that my deceased sibling's children should inherit his share and told them they would get a share divided amongst them. This was not provided for in the will. So out of 100% of the money, it would have been split 20% each if we were all alive but as one of us had passed, it had to be split 25%. It was an uncomfortable decision to inform the nephews and nieces they would get nothing. However, it seems my bro had misunderstood the obligation. To do anything else would have been against the law and opened the executors to potential liabilities.
In the end, it was decided to follow the will - there was no other choice - and for the beneficiaries to decide if they wanted to make gifts. I know one sibling gave all his split equally amongst his children, same for another, one doesn't have children and in my case, I made cash gifts to my own kids but retained most of it. My view was my kids would inherit it anyway when I go and when Mrs F go. So I just deferred it and kept it for emergencies.
I discussed this during the morning because Mrs F has one uncle left with squabbling siblings. He's on borrowed time and has substantial property so it'll have to be divided up between the kids. They are really argumentative. One is a total narcissist cum manipulator and other one is OK but an alcoholic. We could easily imagine the alcoholic murdering the narcissist. And they all live together in a giant house. It's just a disaster waiting to happen.

It's all a bit slow. I travelled overnight Belgrade-Budapest and it was terribly weak. It's only about 400km by road (about the distance Budapest-Vienna and back). And it takes less than 4h as the road is good and has been update fairly recently.
I travelled many times on the Vienna to Dusseldorf overnight sleeper with Motorail where I took the car. That was OK but a bit weird and the "cabins" were pretty poorly equipped. No power, no USB etc. All stopped now.
It did save a lot of time to get to the ferries to the UK. Only 4h to the coast. Used to take a couple of days actual driving.
I have my sister and her husband visiting tomorrow for three days. It's only taken 17 years to come and visit me. Neither of them has been to Vienna, which has surprised me as both are teachers and classical music.
Wednesday is going to be low-key, just going out for lunch because they will have been up since 3 am and travelling from Cardiff, via Amsterdam. They have just over an hour at Schiphol, which is great, enough time to change gates. The other stopover is something like 6 hours.
As neither of them has been to Austria, we will treat them to some proper Austrian cuisine, which will set me back €100, not too bad, €25 a head meal and drinks and will be in Vienna.
They will be staying in Vienna, and they found a nice 3-day package at a 4-star hotel. They might as well stay in Vienna, and if they feel up to it, they can go and have a wander around in the evening. Not much they can do around my town, and they would never stay with me anyway. We have a love-hate relationship; we will do anything for each other, borrow, lend money... but to share the same house is a no no. Anyway, it saves them from unnecessary travel back and forth on the train (just over an hour both ways).
It will be interesting as they will be experiencing the EES, so let's see if there will be any delays. I've not seen any horror stories in the Austrian news, so it must be going alright. They are also well-travelled and intelligent, so with their part it should be plain sailing. On Facebook, people are commenting when the news reports this, and folk have still not heard anything about it. Just like the passport rule, not having enough months left on it etc.... Blaming the airline or holiday company for not telling them. Jeeez, where have these people been?
On Thursday, it will be our mum's anniversary of her passing, so I guess we will be going and lighting a candle for her. So might as well be Stephansdom as its on the list to see and do.
Got good weather while they are here, so that's a bonus, just need to fit as much in while they are here, but not to much that they won't enjoy it.
