Absolutely Anything Else

Yes, Leo,s usually have a nice head of hair.
My mother felt ripped off   as a Leo with fine thin hair.
Not fair!
She had chemo before I finished beauty school and I refused to give her a perm, just your basic haircut.
Poor gal, resorted to wigs.
Broke my heart. - @Marilyn Tassy

I don't know about Leos and hair but now you say it,  I know several Leos and they do have quite a thatch although not always in the expected places.  I guess your Mom proved she was the exception to the rule.

I always thought if I was not endowed with hair, or lost it due to something medical,  I'd just go full Kojak.

BTW, Telly Savalas was a strange guy, he wasn't really bald at all, it was just his schtick.  His brother George was also in Kojak as well and he had a magnificent head of hair.  If you see pics of Telly Savalas with  hair, it's a bit of a shocker.

Same for Yul Brynner (that dude had one interesting and complex life - I always liked him).  He did a fantastic turn in The Magic Christian.  Amazing.  Now I've started talking about him, I will need to find some movies with him as the star!

Yul Brynner is a great actor.

He takes center stage. Russian/American. He had that slight accent which was cool.

He does look odd with hair.

Telly was Greek, I believe. Probably did have good hair.

Speaking of hair, getting my husband to chop my locks today!

There goes a good 2 to 3 hours of the day!

He is rather good at it though.

He applies his machinist skills to measuring and cutting my hair;

Hair is fine and thin, someone who knows how to cut could do it in less then 20 mins, maybe 15.

He dislikes doing it though. Always says to go to the salon but I can not stand walking into one.

Would bite the bullet and go if anyone knew what they were doing.

So many disappointing cuts here, once I was so upset at the stupid fringe the guy gave me that I laughed like a loon; That or break down and cry right then and there!

I plopped my hair on after the cut in a dramatic way so he and everyone in the shop knew I was pissed. Still tipped him, not much but still. Hoped he would feel embarrassed by taking it, no not here in Hungary!

I knew before he closed his shears he was messing it up but not fast enough to stop him.

He stood behind me, lifted up my bangs and cut, huge no, no unless he was going for a flat top length.

Needless to say I wonder how half these people got their license?

Always cut less when in doubt, tip of the day!

Yul  was indeed super talented.  He's got an interesting history and his language skills also included Hungarian!  Incredible variety of cultures in his life.  Fluent in French too.   He was from a rich family but the commies took their wealth and property.

One "negative" (or "positive") thing about Yul is with hair, he looks like Putin.  Today, looking like Putin is a big no-no.  But if he'd been alive still, he'd have been an idea actor to play him.

Yes, Telly was of Greek origin.  I don't know how. Of course, he's been dead for years, so off the radar.  Very flamboyant kind of guy - liked his bling and his cigars. I always thought he was excellent in Kojak and portrayed the psycho soldier in The Dirty Dozen very well.   One of my all time fave movies.  Fantastic cast.

Kind of interesting your hubby is a capable hair stylist.   I am completely ignorant of the skills needed.  My grandfather was a hairdresser and owned a salon with my grandmother.   I would call him more a barber which must not take time to learn.  I don't really think he needed to know how to do all the technical stuff.  He just always cut hair exactly the same.  He used to cut my hair but it always looked like a mini version of all the others that had their hair cut by him.  He had a briefcase with his gear in it.

I think people need advice on hair styles.   As I've got older, I don't know what to do with mine. Should I dye it?  Leave it as streaky grey? Cut it shorter? Or what?   I've asked my kids and they don't seem to know about other people but know about themselves.   My style advisor (No. 1 Fluffyette) is distracted a lot.  She said hombre style but natural but I don't know what that means.

Yul vs Vlad - one an actor, one a despot.

I would purchase a shampoo for grey hair.

Grey hair tends to look dull and these formulas give it shine and brighten it up.

My eldest sister went grey and it looks good on her.

White in many areas.

Me, was told my natural hair is not grey enough yet and that it would make me look old too soon.

Too soon? IDK, lately I do not like seeing my reflection in the mirror!

What the heck happened???

Looks like my medical treatments have caught up with me; My saving grace is my super high cheek bones, and being slim, no double chin but sadly I could go under the knife to smooth out some of those well, I can not even type it, dirty word, wrinkles!!!

That would be funny, my HU SIL could then talk all about my face lift!

My father had jet black hair, when it started to get grey, it only got grey in the front like a skunk!

Haircut only took about 2 hours, made him cut a bit shorter because he always is afraid to go too short.

I wish I could wear a different style but with fine thin hair a Bob is about it. At least I can color it.

My husband said, that,s it next cut I go to a salon. At least men have the option of shaving it all off!

Hair, my deceased  sisters stupid BF spent over $100. on just getting a hair cousltation in the 1980,s!

I told him I,d cut his hair right there in my kitchen for half price!

No taker though! He was beyond weird. Some people do believe the more they pay the better the service, not always true.

Had a mane of long curly hair, which I thought was still too heavy after his so called, expert cut!

I used to cut my DIL hair in Vegas. My gosh, what was left on the floor could of made a nice couple of wigs!

I had the thin her hair out for ages to make it lay smooth.

Some people I would tease in the salon I told them I would have to charge double because they had too much hair! No, but the look on their faces was priceless!

I am lucky my husband is patient and not afraid to cut my hair but I have to remind him to comb and cut from the scalp down. He sometimes does not comb all the way though. I have to remind him often.

Little professional tricks to speed it up and make the results good.

I spend another 30 mins going over my hair after he cuts the basic line.

It is a big job for someone with little hair.

I owned my own salon for a very short time; I hated it!

Had to be there all day long, I used to only take a salon job if it was not more then 4 days per week, 6 hours a day.

Otherwise it became a grind.

Miss part time, that,s me.

Interesting how much Yul does look like Putin when you see them together.

He and Jack Palance had a certain sort of exotic look.

Hairdresser told me not to dye hair a dark colour as it would make any thinning look worse as it'd highlight my scalp.    He said it was a mistake many people make.  My kids don't have this problem so are not very useful advisors.  Lack of experience.   I'm not a wannabe K-Pop star.   Not yet anyway.  Maybe I'm working up to it. Slowly.

I guess it's steel grey (haha, one way to sell it).  It's not white but streaky.  Definitely older look.  Maybe I should revel in it.

BTW, I was at a tourist attraction at the weekend and I managed to get a senior discount.  They asked to see my ID.  Presumably just to prove I was of "age".  So one way I felt like I was labelled and judged and the other way, I was happy to take the discount (I got 1/3 off).  I did appreciate they didn't automatically assume I was over 65 but obviously they didn't look too closely.  If I go to another tourist attraction, it says I'll get in free at that one.

When I look in the mirror, I think I'm verging on wrinkly raisin.  My days of being a smoothed out "plump grape" are over.   Only a surgeon could save me from growing old gracefully.

My husband is sweet, he says I look like a little girl.

Lies for sure!

I may act 6 but look 60 at least!

I noticed lately the ticket agents on the subway just let me walk through without showing ID.

That hurts!

I dislike coloring my hair every 3 weeks or so but not ready for the big reveal either.

My last salon cut I asked th guy if I should just let it go. He said it was not grey enough yet and would just be aging and dull.

Yes, lighter as one ages but no blonde for me;

Our HU old friend had very dark brown hair. She had it all blonde and highlighted last time we saw her.

Defo was not fitting and looked like she was trying too hard.

What cracks me up here is the old ladies walking around with bright red , purple or pink hair. OK, interesting but their outfits do not suit the wild hair at all; They look more like their grand daughter was playing hairdresser on them and they were used as a guinea pig. Not flatering at all.
