Absolutely Anything Else

Cynic

I know about Lyrica except we know it more here as Pregabalin. Lyrica is the commercial name. The release form is needed because it's got serious side effects and there's a possibility of abuse. I think my brother was given it for his spinal pain - his condition cannot be fixed by surgery. Not something anyone wants to accept. Even I could end up having that or a similar drug for my legs, spine and pelvis. I don't know if the side effects are worth it but I can see people getting desperate.
We should all be afraid of Herr Drumpf. Especially us here, right next door, never mind 70 year old disabled women in the USA. Trump is about to carve up Ukraine with Putin. It's his Yalta moment in the snow. Maybe Trump is reporting in, this time in person to his boss. Even in the best will in the world, all this is on the basis of Dumkopf Witkoff's reporting back to Donny. Like two morons talking to each other while a manipulating evil dictator chairs the meeting and has the casting vote. I keep thinking, just 4 years, then Mr Mango will be gone. It seems an awful long time to wait and the damage he'll cause everywhere. And it'll take a generation to overcome it all. One can only hope older age catches up with the current loons.

BTW, I read some article which said Washington DC is under federal control because Trump passes the homeless tents on the way to his golf course. That's why he wants them gone. I cannot see they can move people on from homelessness in DC. On what basis can the government restrict their rights? Maybe they're taking a leaf out of other dictator style whims.

Meanwhile, over here, Orban apparently said "I cannot afford to let the opposition win". And clearly, Hungarians cannot afford to let him or his cronies continue.

That Fiat Monza looks a fun car. Bit like a mini-Porsche shape. I've never been a fan of sports cars but I do like the classic look of that particular motor. I looked at the Lark versions but I couldn't see a really rounded one. Unless it was a really old model.

We're staying in today. It could be up to 40C. Water sounds good. We've got our pop up pool but even that might be too much as there's no shade. - @fluffy2560

Pregabalin - that's what they gave me for my lumbar stenosis; I had to stop taking it because of the side-effects; now getting nothing, the consultant told me that I'd learn to live with the pain.  The waiting list for surgery is miles long.

I think I'll be offered that kind of thing in the end.  I sympathise with back issues.

I could possibly have diabetic neuropathy (as they think) but really I'm pretty damn sure I've actually got the misnamed "slipped disc".  Mrs F can push here and there and the pain goes away somewhat and matches with my reading on the subject.   Needs an MRI - I'll probably have to pay for it.  At least I'd have an answer.  What could be done afterwards is another matter.

One of my relatives has inoperable Tarlov Cysts in the spine. It's not uncommon but severe symptoms are a bit rare. Gabapentin is a treatment which is nearly the same as Pregabalin.  That or Amitriptyline.  One should only take it if there's a severe flare up and it's unmanageable.   It's what I was told.

Reports of being on these drugs means being out of it and less capable of living properly day to day.

Other medical news at Casa Fluffy is our daughters tonsils have to come out.

Marilyn Tassy

I am sorry for anyone who,s spine acts up.  My older sisters wore orthopedic shoes for years growing up. Myra had pretty bad scoliosis.

Our German grandfather bought their shoes ; They were always outgrowing them but he was generous and kept buying them for years.

They were very expensive in the 1950,s more then our father could of cared to cover;

I never had those growing up, might be one reason my knee kept dislocating?

One would never guess either of my sisters had issues with their feet and spines.

The eldest had 3 different black belts in Karate and was is still active, my deceased sister drank allot of Vodka and was always at the chiropractors office. Still she would ski, dance act the fool but pay for it later.

I am addicted to exercise, I find that helps with almost any issue in life.

I can tell when I might skip a day here and there, not good.

If you go to the ortho hospital and make an appointment with a doctor they should do X rays the same day of the appointment and possibly make an order for an MRI. Should not be too bad of a wait time.

I also do not think paying out of pocket in Hungary for an MRI is too expensive but with a Taj card it should be covered.

I get CT tests every 6 months and it is easy to get in. Had a couple MRI,s and it was done within weeks.

Used to travel across town to get them but realized they hospital just down the st; from us has a brand new scanning center. go there now, modern and fast.

Used to go to an old scanning center at St; Stephens, it was horrible, they would bring in half dead people in ambulances over there and mess up everyone,s appointment times. The WC had no light, no paper and the door would not lock! Once they did not even have a seat cover!

The new center is up to standard.

Way too hot outside to go anywhere, if we had a pop up pool, I would jump in sun or no sun. Take advantage of having one . I asked my husband in the past if our floor was strong enough to put one up in the living room! Yes, I am that crazy at times! Maybe a baby pool at least??

Reminds me of those old water beds that sometimes came crashing down on the flat downstairs!

I am not against buying a weekend home but just for the short 3 months per year here is not a good investment. If we had a large family it would be worth it.

Too lazy to take the tram to the spa somedays.

I often see adds for new modern buildings in Budapest just outside the city limits. Nice complex with young people riding bikes on trails, exercise classes outdoors etc; When it came to the view of the common pool, I said to myself, no way; Hundreds of flats and one tiny pool? Yes, like that is any fun.

In Vegas we had 3 large pools. One apt. complex had a large pool where I was always alone in there; We had a pass to use a man made lake too. We were just a half block away from the lake and could take our kayak there too. Nice clean private lake, mostly very high end homes were located there and for some reason our apt; complex also could use the lake. Was well worth the higher rent to us. They had lifeguards and free for an hour paddle boats. Full showers and even BBQ pits and benches.

The Lakes, in Las Vegas.

Felt like you were far away from the desert being there.

It is painful from what I have heard to get your tonsils out as an adult.

I wonder if iodine glycerin gargle would help?

Poor thing, I hope she likes ice cream.

Well stay cool everyone!

Part 2/

I was looking at my old supply of anti inflammatory pills.

Have a huge stock pile of them from the family doctor. Apranax,it is a naproxen type 550mg.

Have not taken them in years but they did help a bit with my swelling in my knee when it was acting up.

Not expensive and no need to sign a release form.

Speaking of the orange man, when my cousin wrote me he also mentioned his daughter who is a Hollywood script writer is doing some part time work for a Billionaire.

She has her own studio but it is slow so she is doing IT consultant work for this guy.

The guy is setting up things to run for the gov.of Ca. in a year!

Do not know his name or what party is is running for.

Well, my cousin thinks the guy might back him to remodeling that Monza car. It is a barn find, meaning it is pretty much gutted ATM.

Do not know how she made such a connection but very interesting.

His daughter and a partner own Global Genesis Group, sounds  like big time stuff to me, or it could just be a great web page?

Doing my yoga always clears out my head.

Either the chemtrails have gotten me or I am in the beginning of dementia!!

Need to get a 1,000 piece puzzle for my memory!!!

Sorry to have taken you on a wild goose chase,

Just hit me my car was not a Studebaker but a Rambler!!!

WTH?? Is this the start of the end; mentally???

I think the resale value on a prime Rambler is more then a Studebaker although they are somewhat in the same class of car. Note to self, start my yoga early in the day!!

Here's a picture of a late 1950s Rambler.   There are similarities with the Studebaker, like the large front grille.  Reviews of the Studebaker say that it many thought it had European styling and I can see that.  Bit like a Mercedes or even a Rolls-Royce.  High company for a modest car.

Body is nicely rounded but some of the even earlier models are even more bubble like with overhanging wings. Must have been a nightmare cornering hard.  The tyres could get shredded on the body.  But I suppose getting it up to any speed to have such a risk is unlikely.

I've got a large collection of drugs I've acquired for myself and inherited from relatives.  It seems a bit dangerous to even keep them.  We did have a clear out a while back and we took all the old and dodgy ones to the pharmacy for disposal.   It's free to get rid of them anyway.  I have a bee in my bonnet about movies where the character throws their meds down the toilet.  Don't do it!  Take them to the pharmacy and dispose of them responsibly!

Looks to me like Newsum is going to run against the next Republican candidate for President.  Trump called him NewSCUM.  How rude! He did well countering Mr Mango during the recent National Guard nonsense in LA.  I watched several of his interviews and he was entirely level headed and in control of his brief.   He could go off the rails like they all seem to but he seemed reasonable.  Didn't see anything from the opposition.

I cannot see any of the current Trumpist loons getting any traction as governors or candidates for anything. I wouldn't trust any of them to run a bath, never mind the USA.

I am extremely unhappy to hear what Trump has been saying over Ukraine.  He's once again bowed to Putin and put it all on Zelensky.  It's just disgusting behaviour.  Turns my stomach over.  Europe and NATO needs to get its act together and to assume the USA is actually in the worse case, an enemy, in the best case, no use whatsoever.

If I wasn't doing what I'm doing, I would have quite liked to work in the movie industry but it would have been likely  incredibly unstable. It's just nuts people can make massive businesses out of fantasy about far away space rebellions, superhero ninja turtles and endless zombies.

I've got a non-urgent appointment coming for an MRI on my bottom half but I reckon I should do it privately and do a full body scan.  It's something I'm wondering about - if I should do it that.  Fully body MRI is about 120K-150K HUF plus English interpretation is another 30K HUF.  So a tad under 200K HUF.  It's the English language interpretation which is important.  No way around needing that. I could pretty much just do it in the UK on demand and then I don't need to pay for the interpretation into English but I will need interpretation into Hungarian.  Not sure which way works the best.

My problem right now is that I'm off to Africa for a bit and short on time.  It's a bit of a dilemma to get the MRI done earlier.  I'm having to ask for special considerations like ground floor room in the hotel, a car and walking shorter distances.  It's becoming a different life and not one I expected. Reduced mobility was not on my horizon. I thought other problems would slow me down.  I can do a couple of miles while walking the dog but I pay for it big time the next day.  The MRI should tell me lots about my back etc.  But like I said, what's the actual answer even if I know?  It could be they drill a hole in my spine and remove the bit of disc poking out.  It's not without risks.  Fiddling around with the spinal column makes me really nervous.  The conservative treatment is physiotherapy. I've been doing that for some years but it's been ineffective.

Our daughter has had recurrent tonsilitis for years and years. It's just become a real problem again.  We had a specialist and he said she'd grow out of it.  And it seemed she had but this past week, it's back with a vengeance.  Antibiotics work but even they aren't really working long term.

The doc said, this needs further investigation at the hospital. It seems inevitable they'll have to come out.  It's not so important to have tonsils, especially when an adult.  It wasn't good this morning. She couldn't speak, only squeak.

It'll be full anaesthesia/sedation and take ~30m. I think she'll be living on ice-cream for a week.   That's the upside.

As all knows, I had all that trouble with mine, you do have to look after one's back. I was lucky in being able to have X-rays and MRIs quickly. Someone in the UK I know had to wait over a month to have an MRI and CT scan, then wait weeks for the results. H lives in London, but it's like that across the UK. UK Jeez, I got my results the same day, just had to wait a while for it to be put on a CD,

Yes,  extra for results on a USB stick.  I'm still thinking about it all.

I think you had different problems to just a slipped disc though.  I don't recall.

Whatever you had, did it make a difference (i.e. relief) having the surgery?

I reckon up to 4 weeks of downtime post-surgery.

That is it! Mine was more like the top photo;

Looked at classic cars.com

Average price is $24,509 highest was $84,700!!

It was super solid and heavy but had no seat belts.

I really only drove it around Burbank, Ca; Very middle class and quiet city back then.

Never got to go over 50 on the streets.Took it on the freeway once, did fine but was in the slow lane.

Of course I wanted to lay low since I had no driving license at the time.

I mentioned a long while ago an old childhood friend had major back surgery;First they rebuilt her neck then a few months later her spine; Made a cage around the spine; She was in rehab for a couple months and reported it hurt so bad she wish she had kicked it.

Last photos of her she was using a cane.

No idea how much a huge operation like that would cost in the US.

Have pretty much gone no contact with her in recent years; She is super wealthy and it has gone to her head; My Vegas friend has also gone no contact with her. Long story on that one.

Too bad really, her husband influenced her in a dark way;

One story as one of his employees at his slate mine used his desk as a WC! Shows what sort of boss and person he is.

Too bad exercise does not help. I got my husband some powdered collagen;

We all get sarcopenia as we age.

I noticed muscle loss as well as fast weight loss when I was in treatments; Not a huge amount of weight for many people but for me it was allot; Dropped from 123lbs to 108lbs; in a matter of a couple weeks.

Lost muscles strength too. Took me several months of doing PT on my own to get some flexibility back in my hips. I still see my face got thinner after treatments and afraid it will never be back to the way it was.

If we could bring back time!!

Most movies are a waste of brain power but yes, people love to be in a fantasy world;

My cousin was in a few films , no staring role but he made some money as a child actor.

MY auntie had connections which it seems have crossed over to her grand daughter.

The reluctant Astronaut with Don Knots was one film my cousin had a very short part in.

Could miss him if you did not look.

When we moved to Ca; from Conn; we stayed with my aunt and her family for a few weeks;

I remember my cuz was a year or  two older then me and it was his house; He bossed me all around, like a star.

He had a custom made sort of chair made for him, child size.

He asked me if I wanted to try it, of course I did.He let me get all comfy for a few mins; then said out of my chair;Sort of a brat. My aunties built him all up;

It is his eldest brother who lives in Vegas the hobby car guy.

My friend Teri who passed a few years ago from brain cancer, has brothers who work on film sets. her father got them in they make really good money building sets.

Her father is still alive at 97 and his GF is in her 60s!

I never liked attention that much, one has to love it to be an actor. I was in a few shows over the years, always put up front and center or first out on the runway; Always felt so odd. Nothing really, dance ballet at 7, fashion show in Jr; high, had to do the catwalk with outfits we made in class; I was on the front page of the local newspaper, must of been a slow news day! My mom bought a dozen papers to cut out the photo and mail to her relatives.

Hair shows and once at agfe 17 a movie producer had me come in and do a reading; Thought it was a joke so did not take it seriously at all; In fact my friend who came with me and I believed it was going to be some perv chasing me around a desk; No it was a nice old man with a real script.

I hadn't heard of Sarcopenia before but I have heard of Cachexia which is related but has different causes.   Not something people want to become familiar with.  It seems the only way to deal with Sarcopenia is resistance exercise.  That's a bit of a vicious circle if you're somehow immobile.   Maybe all these things will be solved eventually.

I have no idea if collagen works.   It sounds to me if people eat it, it'll just go through the digestive system and won't make it back into the body itself. But what do I know?

I think today is a dog walking day.   That could be the exercise I need for my legs and back.  I'm going to pay for it though, big time.  Tomorrow will be either uncomfortable or a write off  with me being in a coma on the sofa.  If I'm lucky Mrs F will come with me.

I watch medical programmes on YT and elsewhere and I've seen them putting surgical cages around people's spines, including around the neck.  It was quite something to see but from what I can ascertain, it's not that bad but I guess everyone is difficult. I guess the pain depends on the individual.  I can see how people get keen on gummies and opioids.  That latter one is scary.  Very scary.

BTW, there's a news article about drug problems in LV.  Click here.  The article talks about  LV drug issues and how they are appearing in London, UK.  There's other stuff, about the casinos and the loss of tourists due to ICE crackdowns.

Glad we nailed that down!   It's quite an attractive car.  Kind of reminds me of some older UK cars like the Ford Prefect or Hillman Minx.  I remember being in the Ford.  My mother's friend had one.  No seat belts either!  Probably 0-60 mph in 30s.  Bonkers slow considering electric cars can get to 60mph in 3s.

I am surprised you could drive around without a driving license.  People do that but in the UK, they'd throw the book at you.   One of my relatives always seems to be stopped by the police and HMRC (Tax/Customs).  He said he was stopped a couple of times recently where they were checking fuel in tanks.  Fuel for agriculture is called Red Diesel due to the dye in it.   It's got a very much lower tax on it.  Some people use it in their cars but if they get caught, that's it, car taken, crushed and massive fines.  There are mechanisms for removing the dye but it's hard work and probably very polluting.  Bit of a risk.

BTW, I looked on classiccars.com for a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.   Some on there including what looks like a fake one.  If I had the cash and the space like Jay Leno (a very rich and noted car collector), I'd definitely buy one if it had a smaller engine.

UK Ford Prefect below. Altogether a smaller and different type of motoring.

In Vegas my husband was often given Crown Victoria,s to drive.

He really liked the car, smooth and solid.

I always liked off beat smaller cars but my husband likes larger cars.

He had a few over the years.

I would suggest jumping into the pop up pool after the dog walk and doing some moves. Kicking your legs and them standing in place and making arm moves.

Actually, I would get some sort of device or make one to be able to stay in place and make swimming moves; A tie down belt of some sort.

They say getting old is a privilege, not so sure about that!

I feel young, that is what is important.

Have to talk to yourself and say, Old person go away!

I am a huge fan of Dr. Berg a U tubber.

He gave me some great ideas during my cancer treatments on what to take other then the poison doctors learn to hand out.

I have weak knees and at my first dealing job in Vegas it required standing all day long;My hairdressing job was the same, standing all the time; They did not like us to rest in the salon chairs if we were not busy with a client. We could sit for hours if no clients were in the shop but if anyone walked in, we all got busy.

Not a good look to see stylists sitting around shooting the breeze.

I wish the hairdressers here would pick up some old school class!

Anyways, I had some issues with my knees at the casino. Was taking Aleve everyday but going off it on my days off; Murder for your liver!

After a full year of full time work, I had company health care;

A full year!!!

I was given script after script for pain meds. Dang  ATM forgot the name but a common one given for pain.

I later found out a good number of dealers lived off of this drug.

Sort of made me angry to think they would rather cover up the pain for employees then to actually give real treatment.

One reason I quit to rest and clean out my system from their so called solution.

I'm thinking the newer Crown Victorias, not the old ones.  I'm no expert but I like the look of the new ones.  Picture at the end.   I was also thinking it looked smooth and solid and could last for ages.  The thing about ex-cop cars is that they are well maintained but they idle them a lot during winter keeping warm while on patrol.   Anything over 100K miles is pushing it a bit.  I'm not a specific fan of Fords but I've had a few.  Of course, here in Europe, we like diesels and smaller engines.  There are many thousands of Crown Vics still around so parts must be available.   They didn't really sell them here - too big bodies for tiny European roads, large engines etc.  But they were popular in the Middle East.   It's got a Trump connection - he wants to sell US cars in Europe.  But he forgets firstly the gas price and also  the size of the roads and the compact nature of European cities 100s if not 1000s of years old.  Giant cars do not fit!

Mrs F and kids were in the pop up pool and reported it feeling rather cold.  It was rained on yesterday so I guess got a dump of cold water in it.   We don't have a pool heater.  I have thought about getting a solar system for it.  It just pumps the pool water through a panel pointed at the sun.  I guess it'll heat the water a bit.  I saw them in Lidl or Aldi. I forget which.  I've not been in it this year.  We've got a 30C day coming this week so perhaps that's the day I should get in there.  As I reported previously, I was going to pay for walking the dog and yup, I'm paying for it now with back and leg pain.  It was a problem all night. I might as well have got up at 4am and got a head start on the day.

Occupational health is something which isn't given a lot of attention by many employers.  We here in Europe are rather lucky.  Employers have to provide cover as part of their Duty of Care to their employees.  It means for example, that they have to provide travel insurance if traveling for work.  And they cannot send you into a working zone or situation if there was a foreseeable chance you'd be injured or harmed.   This isn't the same as the US or Canada. I've worked for both US and Canadian employers on jobs in third countries and it's very variable.  The Canadians don't really use this term, Duty of Care and it's kind of fragmented and inconsistent across the provinces.   And in the USA, it doesn't seem to exist as a concept.  It was one upside of the the EU, it's a universal term, well understood by all EU employers.  What's more, it applies to everywhere in the world they would send you.

They should have made allowances in casinos and hair salons.  Giving you a proper chair.   In the EU, proper chairs are a necessity.  I was sitting in an office chair in a phone company where I worked when we suddenly all got new chairs en masse.   The perfectly normal office chairs suddenly had to be replaced.  They didn't meet the standard for occupational health laws.  Looked the same to me but I did find out later they had things like lumbar and height adjustments.  If someone developed back issues from bad chairs, they'd have had their butts kicked in court. Duty of Care again!

Crown Vic, cop car version of yore.

I have a hydraulic salon chair in storage, comfy for even watching tv.

In the US acting professional at work is part of the job;

If a client comes in and it is not busy they do not like the impression of workers just sitting around gossiping. Best to get up and clean up the salon , always something to do as it is.

I once in the US had my hair cut by a women who was sitting, had to have it fixed the same day, it was crooked;

Here in Hungary I can not believe how many hairdressers sit while cutting! It is about body  mechanics and balance, how high you raise your elbows etc, how straight your fingers are. Sitting just screams lazy and sloppy.

Only exception is if a client has super long hair, then you can sit low and have them stand to make a nice trim.

The Crown Victoria,s my husband drove were new cars, he liked driving them, smooth and powerful and comfortable.

So many wide bodied cars here now with people who can not handle them right; So often we have to pull to the right as a road hog in a wide car passes in the other lane. hate to say it, mostly young women who have too much car for them to handle.

They should stick to narrow cars here. Trump is all talk so far, he has not done anything for the working class in the US as of yet. Most are having a hard time paying their bills. It looks nasty over there now.

People with jobs in food lines.

Last night my knee was hurting, I wonder if the humid weather has something to do with it?

Better today but it is something to be aware of. Maybe it is time for another shot?

My cousin in NM got me going yesterday; she sent over a couple of screen shots my SIL posted; IDK, I think my disabled bro has left her!

He is wild but something is not good.

Hairdressing sounds like the military.  Never look like you're lolling around doing nothing.  Someone will come along and give you a job.  And possibly one you don't like!

I know what you mean about cars being too big for some drivers.  They definitely need to go back to driving school and definitely increased work on parking and the idea of parking between the lines.

I fear what Mango Man is going to do this afternoon. My expectation is that the USA will walk away.  Not in so few words, but it's the end of the road.

This might be a massive moment in world history.  I see Zelensky has brought his friends with him.  If I was Zelensky, I wouldn't have another Oval Office moment.  That needs very strong control and no ambushes.   Apparently Zelensky will be wearing a suit. We'll see.  Personally I think that was outrageous of Drumpf and Shady to haul Zelensky up just because he was showing solidarity with his people by wearing his fatigues.   How pathetic of Drumpf and Shady.

I am wondering if this is when we see the first serious cracks of the NATO iceberg breaking up.  With that,  Drumpf cannot rely on NATO to help him out in China or Taiwan. US is on its own out in the Pacific.  Maybe he doesn't care and will go it alone without world support.   But Drumpf is TACO man. He's already chickened out over Putin.  If the Allies walk away over Ukraine, Drumpf will never see that Nobel prize he so covets and worse, prioritises.  And he'll chicken out if China invades Taiwan.

Maybe your knee was giving you signals about your brother leaving.  Maybe just a crisis.  I guess this is the amputee? Maybe he's just depressed and couldn't take it more.  Bit of time away might help.

Yes,I am too much of an empath;

Last night I had a hard time sleeping, not like me at all.

Well, opened up my e mail this morning and bad news.

My brother always picks insane women as GFs and wives.

This time his sweet looking Pamela Anderson faced wife did him in big time!

No one heard from him in many weeks, a month at least.

My cousin in NM thankfully got nervous and looked at his wives FB posts; Crying out saying she spent her BD alone, life is so hard , boo hoo BS!

Well Shirley my cuz contacted his wife even though they do not get on at all;

Shirley did not give me the details, asked if I want them, yes , please;

His wife has him in jail since July 15th!!!!

What?, How dangerous is a sick one legged man??

She is a selfish person and for years my bro put up with it but now he probably has reached his limit;

I tried to do an inmate search to get details and see if he needs bail but being overseas they blocked me.

No problem , my sis or cuz will find out what to do.

I am so afraid he will get sick again and they will not treat him properly. I am sure they took away his leg too!Might be used as a weapon??

She has no heart at all, pure ego and only thinks of herself. He should of walked away when he could of!

I think his wife who is 6 or 7 years younger then him, used to see him as dangerous, handsome and wild; Now that he is not that way any longer, she has no need of him.

My cuz said my bro sen't her photos of their condo when he got out of over a year in rehab; It was a mess, of course she was remodeling but the photo of a tray of 40 to 50 bottles of her pain meds is concerning! She seems to be the one out of her mind not him.

One min, she is praising God for saving her husband and the next she is his worst enemy??

IDK, even if he gets bail, where can he go since she seems to control even his money.

Yes, there are demons out there and sometimes they have baby faces and blonde hair.

I also am mad for my Vegas friend, of course now they told her her recent blood test showed THC so no pain script for her; Her husband who had throat cancer has not been given the results of his latest scans, over a month now; He just developed a sore in his mouth, saw the doctor but they did not even look in his throat!!!! Half assed exams and no real results. The medical system here in Hungary is better and we know how it is lacking.

They pay over $400. a month for their gov; health coverage plus pay out of pocket for every doctors visit! I think those crooked doctors just like charges for office visits and never give real answers or help at all.

I am so sick of corruption on every level with everyone!

Other then all this great news,the weather is nice, hope to enjoy it and might just have an extra glass of wine tonight; could use it!

Marilyn Tassy

I never give up.

Found a site that allowed me to access inmate info.

Looks like my bro will be released on the 21st;

Just 2 more days!

Man, wish his horrible wife would of informed me without going through back channels.

Someone is defo off my Xmas list!!

Now the real sage begins...

30 days in the Hole! Humble Pie, seems his wife wants him to eat some humble pie.

Hmm;that glass of wine should be a bottle!

Jeez, that's quite a story.   Why the hell is he in jail?  And really, taken away his leg?  Was it DV (Domestic Violence)?  Maybe he's better off in jail.  Like a bit of rehab and a day off from his wife. Possibly?  Is there any upside to it?

Must be something in the air because everyone around me is going bonkers.  Hungarians always blame a "front" coming in.   Surely not, it's blue skies and warm. It looks good out there unless something wicked this way comes.

My colleague e-mailed me overnight to tell me how depressed and burnt out he was.  Why? I have no idea. I thought everything was going swimmingly.  But some people take it all far too seriously. It's not life and death anyway.  No-one is going to be on life support if we screw it up.   It's not long enough of a job to get into trouble.  I'm probably going to have to play amateur psychologist this arvo.  Not a role I want.  Leave that to the professionals.  I e-mailed "our boss" (she was CC'd in anyway).  I told her, we're doing OK.  Even if we were on dodgy ground, I'd still say we were doing OK on the basis we can catch up.

And another friend messaged me to say he hated foreigners and is a wannabe white supremacist.  This came about when we were discussing Ukraine.  The daft thing is that he is a foreigner.  Well half of one.  Yet he's become a British nationalist.  And he has two passports.   So, anti-EU but all the restrictions do not apply to him.  His wife died last year so there's no checks and balances on his mind.  He's probably going through a phase, perhaps even grief.  I still don't know what anti-foreigner political views has got to do with the war in Ukraine.  I asked and no reply.

I am surprised they refused the pain meds because of the gummies.  They'd never check that here.  If it's medicinal cannabis usage, then surely that's allowed in NV?  Or are they thinking she's going to abuse the pain meds?

Maybe that'll mean getting them off the street.  Exactly what they were trying to stop.  Really, they need to be careful, those new street drugs are going to be a massive problem, never mind Trump's Fentanyl bee in his bonnet.  The new ones are Nitazenes.  Really strong, deadly in fact, something like 100s times stronger than Fentanyl or Ketamine.  Scary stuff.

Meanwhile, it's public hols tomorrow.  I'd absolutely forgotten.  It means we'll have to go to the shops to stock up.  I promised I'd make the Shepherd's Pie but I'm a little pushed for time due to my Africa trip.  The recipe I have is great but it's a bit disorganised.  I re-wrote it to make it easier to deal with.  But sitting here, I'm thinking maybe I'd make it tomorrow.

Marilyn Tassy

My cousin should be filling me in on the details sometime later, today probably.

He had a DV with his Mexican/American 2nd wife years ago. Her family was in the mob and they made sure he spent 6 months in the hole!

They owned a nice house, new BMW and he had many nice guitars.

He came home early from work in his state job and even had flowers in hand for her.

Saw his BFFs car parked in front of his home; Went in, found them having fun in the bed and got crazed. he threw his so called friend through the plate glass door.

6 months months time, during which his wife sold the house, sold the BMW, sold his guitars and tossed his things in the trash, including photos of his deceased parents; She used all the money for plastic surgery!!!

Just lovely. Lived in a van for the next 6 months after that.

Then he had a Mexican GF who visited us for 2 night s in Vegas. i almost needed therapy for that. Fighting, It was during my nice Easter dinner. She walked off the dinner table and started back to Ca; without my bro; I calmed her down and they ate then left together;

He had been flirting with a sexy black lady on the dance floor the night before. My husband was there, saw it go down. I went home, I am a real light weight, we had opened up a new bottle of Palinka before going on, I lasted about 30 mins and asked to be driven home to sleep it off. I always miss the action!

My husband said it was funny, my bro handed him a huge Bowie knife before he hit the dance floor.

There was my reserved little HU hubby standing there holding a Bowie knife.

My bro sure knows how to pick them!

I am upset with my SIL, she tries to look the victim when in reality she is not innocent at all.

Guess divorce no; 3 will be happening now.

Good luck in Africa, everyone seems to be losing their minds recently.Not me, lost mine ages ago!!

Yes, off to the market to fight off the crowds, or could just make a loaf of bread and skip my wine for a few days? Na, not after all this great news, not sure, red or white?

Now that's a real mess.  Sounds like a kamikaze lifestyle anyone would run away from. Maybe someone in the mess needs to attend anger management courses.  And plastic surgery sounds like revenge.   Knives around and I assume the next stage is guns.  It could mean some one dies.  Scary stuff.  I await the next instalment!

Mrs F was at Aldi and said it was a disaster.  Very few staff there and queues and I guess low deliveries.  Apparently there were melons but all rotten.  So stuffed due to the holiday tomorrow and I suppose the impending weekend, it'll be a dead loss until Monday.   By then I'll be lolling around a hotel.  I don't plan on going into the office until Tuesday.  I have to get my Sim card for unlimited data, try and get a rental car sorted and blah-blah.  I've been in the same hotel many times and it's in an entertainment strip.  Everything you could want there - pools, mini-market, restaurants and so on.  Maybe COVID has screwed it all up.  We'll see!

Fireworks tomorrow evening.  But from where?  Maybe down town or Normafa.  I don't know which is best as I haven't been there for the fireworks for a few years.

fluffy2560

HU:

Update on Fireworks on the National Day.

What a waste of time!  We never got there. Against my advice, Mrs F insisted on driving and it was just utterly snarled up with road closures  unreported by the organisers.  In the end, we had to escape the place and we just saw them from near the MOM Park shopping mall where we had to park.  Moscow Square (aka Kalman Square aka Zelensky Slava Ukraini Square) was just a disaster zone.  No-one could get to the Mammut car park which was a deranged restriction.   We should have gone on the bus as I wanted.  According to our senior Fluffyette who made it down to the river, the voice commentary was all double meanings and Fidesz centric.  Unacceptable BS.

Marilyn Tassy

I heard them going off, hubby watched on the TV; I caught the last 5 mins of it. All that money wasted, in a puff of smoke!

Rather of done it like Cheech and Chong, had a real Up in Smoke!!

We went to the lake that morning; Did not stay long at all, just got in one dip, the wind started up and since the water level was so low, I was not into it that much.

Hope next season it is higher, we need a real winter to fill up the lakes.

I found a site to get info on inmates; Had my bro on there. Dang!!

He was released yesterday after 5 weeks in the hole;

His wife has filed for a divorce and has a 15 year restraining order against him.

WTH??

Why was she trying so hard to come off as a good person, fixing the condo for him, buying him a nice chair etc.?

I bet she got herself a new man while he was fighting for his life; What an evil person, she set him up and pushed him to snap so during the divorce she looks clean and innocent.

I am sure he is not saint but either is she.

A decent person would give him time to find a new situation. She has her own private condo in AZ; Why not go there for a month or so while he looks for a place that can cater to his needs?

They should sell their Ca; condo so he get his share and some much needed cash.

She runs up all their credit cards and for years he told me she will not save, if he saves she will spend it.She was afraid he would leave her and without any savings he was stuck with her.

Makes no logical sense to me.

She is a curse on him, from day one when he cut his toe in Hawaii it all went downhill.

He has to appear in court again in a couple of days; No one has heard from him yet.

Now is the time for his adult son to step in and help his father.

It will be interesting to see how loyal people really are when the chips are down.

I have found a couple of housing placements for handicapped people in Ca;

I will send their contact info to my bro but have no idea if he even has his phone now and can receive messages.

One situation is with the gov; housing and the other seems to be a private thing where they have handicapped people doing home sharing.

He has income but I doubt it is enough for those $3,000 to $4,000 per month Ca. rental prices.

If out half wit sister had half a brain I would send her to Ca to help him. They even have gov; programs to pay family members to help care for the disabled.

I do not think she is smart enough to even fill out the forms on her own.

These are the times I realize how far from home I am.

My husband and I wold go to Ca in person to help if it was not so far away.

Oh well, maybe my Vegas friend can save me a few gummies if we do decide to travel.

Would be nice to not care.

It does seem very hard to find a real mate in life that will stand by you in hard times; My bro has lost out 3 times so far.

Dang!!He was released yesterday after 5 weeks in the hole;His wife has filed for a divorce and has a 15 year restraining order against him.WTH??Why was she trying so hard to come off as a good person, fixing the condo for him, buying him a nice chair etc.?I bet she got herself a new man while he was fighting for his life; What an evil person, she set him up and pushed him to snap so during the divorce she looks clean and innocent.I am sure he is not saint but either is she.A decent person would give him time to find a new situation. She has her own private condo in AZ; Why not go there for a month or so while he looks for a place that can cater to his needs?They should sell their Ca; condo so he get his share and some much needed cash.She runs up all their credit cards and for years he told me she will not save, if he saves she will spend it.She was afraid he would leave her and without any savings he was stuck with her.Makes no logical sense to me.She is a curse on him, from day one when he cut his toe in Hawaii it all went downhill.He has to appear in court again in a couple of days; No one has heard from him yet.Now is the time for his adult son to step in and help his father.It will be interesting to see how loyal people really are when the chips are down.I have found a couple of housing placements for handicapped people in Ca;I will send their contact info to my bro but have no idea if he even has his phone now and can receive messages.One situation is with the gov; housing and the other seems to be a private thing where they have handicapped people doing home sharing.He has income but I doubt it is enough for those $3,000 to $4,000 per month Ca. rental prices.If out half wit sister had half a brain I would send her to Ca to help him. They even have gov; programs to pay family members to help care for the disabled.I do not think she is smart enough to even fill out the forms on her own.These are the times I realize how far from home I am.My husband and I wold go to Ca in person to help if it was not so far away.Oh well, maybe my Vegas friend can save me a few gummies if we do decide to travel.Would be nice to not care.It does seem very hard to find a real mate in life that will stand by you in hard times; My bro has lost out 3 times so far. - @Marilyn Tassy

Yup, the fireworks were just peppered with nonsensical Orban BS.  Just trash and indeed money up in smoke.  Not even a hit via Cheech and Chong bong.

Meanwhile, apparently a domestic appliance factory in the HU speaking area of Ukraine was bombed by the Russians and people injured there.  I heard the HU President wrote "the Russians bombed it" then change it quickly to "someone bombed it".  Who then?  Like Putin gives a damn about OV's support.     Makes me sick to hear these people. I am currently burying my head in the sand.

It cannot be just the wives taking advantage of your bro.   That's three fails which shows a pattern.  Maybe both are guilty or people just attract others which helps them make consistently bad choices.   Was he or her drinking or on drugs?   Seems a bit harsh to have been locked up for 5 weeks and why 15 years?  Was it DV (Domestic Violence)?  Seems like a really long time. Surely they'll go their separate ways and that'll be it, never see each other again.

Weather is a bit trashy today.   Worst news today is that looks like Africa is off the table.  Arguments about the flight costs.  It's the end of the road at COB (Close of Business).  They can find someone else.   It's incompetence and lack of skill but what can you do with people. I guess it doesn't matter as I have plenty to do and jobs for me are a bit like buses.  Miss one and another three suddenly come along at once.

Marilyn Tassy

Yes, it was DV; I can not say what happened, IDK.

No one told me anything.

They are always protecting me from stuff, not sure why, like I am a shrinking violet???

The only one who blurts it right out to me is the halfie but she has no filter at all and defo not a working brain cell. When my sister, Myra died, Cindy, we call her Sin, called me and without a warning like take it easy now, or are you sitting, is anyone there with you etc; just blurted out, Mrya is dead!

I almost passed out from shock, my brother, son and husband were in the room and ran to grab me as I crashed to the floor in a ball of pain crying.Even our Doberman came over to me and started crying, making a whining sound. Smart dog!

Maybe that is why everyone treats me with kit gloves??

I can actually handle bad news but it is best to see it coming and be ready.

I quickly looked up the division of property in Ca; with divorce. Dang, bro just got caught in a trap; It is suppose to be 50-50 but things like a prenup and a DV can sway things to the favor of one party against the other! He was set up by her, she is greedy.

I hope when it goes to court they have pity on a legless man and can see she set things up in her favor beforehand.

My husband warned me when my bro lost his leg. We will see if his wife is a strong loving person or sees him now as a burden. Did not take long to find out!

My bro is an overly emotional person and she really knows how to push all of his buttons.

3 times, yes he keeps marrying the same women every time. My sister married the same 4 men every time as well.

In my case, I should be so lucky to ever find a replacement for my husband. He is a rare bird and I will keep him till death do us part. No one is perfect but some are less so then others!

Too bad about that factory getting bombed. Going into a 9 to 5 job and getting blown up is just not right.

This war is getting very boring now, time for it to stop.

Hell has no furry as a women scorned... There has to be a reason behind the saying.

I have been thinking , a rare thing!

Years ago Sin told me a story about when she spent a week at her bros house with his wife.

After a week they drove to Vegas to have a family reunion with all of us.

My  other bro and his wife even flew in, he hated flying too.

On the drive back to Ca after the event Lon,s wife flipped out in the car.

I was not there of course but Cindy was there. She said it was not the first time she witnessed his wife going nuts.

His wife was driving, slammed the brakes on and got out of the car, she had slapped Lon in the face and was screaming and running around the car like a mad women. She was calling everyone losers, hardly but she was in a mood.

I asked if Cindy can write it all down, make an affidavit and have a notary sign off on it for divorce court.

It seems the laws are in favor of women more then men as it is.

It seems like this will be a messy divorce and all the ammo  we can dig up the better for Lon.

I have only met his wife a handful of times in Vegas; We took them to a buffet and we gave her several items , 2 used bicycles for her grandkids and other household brand new items. Little did I know she had money to buy new bikes many times over but like I said she is greedy and will take anything of value, even ones life it seems.

I wouldn't say boring.  The war is very upsetting and is almost falling off the news if it wasn't for Trump's fiasco cum clown show each day.  Excellent diversion from Epstein though even  if it's really obvious that's what it was about.  Hard to believe a convicted felon.  Putinites lose 1000 troops a week and possibly the Ukrainians lose a few 100.  Miserable death and destruction, right next door.  Not what anyone wants to see.  I reckon it's coming to the West soon enough.  Maybe 2028 or earlier.  I'm not a doom monger.  Just trying to read the tea leaves.

Yup, DV is usually lumped on the man and that's the person who gets carted off to the clink.   There's a idea that the man will raise fists and beat the woman even though there's plenty of examples of violence the other way.  Only if it's caught on camera do the authorities think there could be another reason.  Who knows what is going on in your bro's life?  Two of my relatives seem to be suffering the same way - one has told the partner it's over but they are still in the same house. The other one is the loon.   The other relative has decided to move back in with the mother.  And with kids too.   The mother has a large house and money, so it's no big problem.

I always say that if you have to work too hard to keep it together, better to just separate.  It should not be difficult to stay together.  But people do hang on don't they? Just in the hope of what?  It'll get better?  Best to just throw in the towel and leave before wasting any further time.

Sounds like your half-sister might be autistic or have Aspergers.  I always thought my MIL had Aspergers. She seemed to have this kind of featureless unsympathetic, possibly learnt demeanour and was very hard to read.  One didn't have to speak Hungarian to know.

People react to death very differently.  I was shocked when my brother went, even though it was expected.  When my Mum and my Dad went, it was just matter of fact really. My Mum was in bad shape. Wasn't unexpected but her timing was impeccable. I just reached her in time for her to pass then and there. My Dad just went suddenly but he was really very old and it was inevitable the grim reaper was nearby.  I haven't really cried for any of them which surprises me.  I expected to be much more upset.  But no wailing, just a lot of sadness about it.  I almost feel guilty about not being more upset.  But what is actually expected from people?  It's not like on TV where people lose it immediately. For me anyway,  I reckon it's more like shock and it only dawns on the person much later when it's all had time to sink in.

The solar panels are now installed; now looking forward to no more electric bills and 10 quid a day from the energy supplier; I'll believe all that when it actually happens; I'm not called Cynic for nothing.

My dad hasn't paid a penny for his electricity in 10 years, and never has had a power cut.

That's good news; I may have to change my Forum name to NotquitesoCynical.

Being in Wales with the weather as it there, he uses the tumble dryer a lot, dishwasher, washing machine etc... and still gets money back that goes towards his gas bill. Best thing he ever did with the house, he says.

Give it a few years, and we will do the same.

I'm becoming convinced with this solar chatter.

But really he just paid for his electricity up front until he passed the payback period.

Yep, but it has also put value on the property. When there were storms earlier in the year, power cables were brought down, and places had no electricity for a couple of days. Dad had people able to charge phones and boil the kettle for hot drinks.

Ah, that thing your Dad was able to do is called "Gateway" these days; I had the option to do that, but it needs some extra hardware, and it was over a thousand quid to do it; seeing as we'd had 1 power cut, for a couple of hours in the 30 years we've lived here, we decided not to do it.

SimCityAT

It could fit more, but it only allowed 16 at the time.
