Absolutely Anything Else
That is wild to say run them down.Yes, not allot of difference really between a cop or a criminal; Both have to be willing to step over the line of what is moral.That being said, my ex SIL the Army MP was a straight shooter sort of person and had a heart.My husbands grandfather was a Hungarian police officer, a high ranking one.He was the purchasing agent for all the police horses. Like the Queens, Kings guard horses in the UK would be.Well respected and was one of the boys; Used to train the horses himself as well. Got his hands and I suppose britches dirty, not too good to be thrown if needed. I almost forgot to put the letter R in britches!He traveled and bought horses and broke them in himself.This was in the 1930s before the war. He got TB and died leaving his wife with 7 or 8 children.They went from a good life to a hard one after he died.They had to move from the nice house the gov; gave them and the eldest son had to start working to help out.He never married,took care of their mother till her dying day.My MIL introduced him often to her friends but he was not interested in getting married but played a role raising his siblings and caring for their mother. I met him, he became a commie and was a master at herbal treatments and knowing what teas cured illnesses. He was also a huge fan of the spas. The Rudas in the day was his second home. He knew exactly how long to be in which water for what sickness etc.Strange guy who lived till about 90. Yes it is a huge relief to get another good result CT. I have learned over the years to take what doctors say with a few grains of salt, to not jump in and go along with them until you do some research.In my case my gastro doctor sent me to a surgeon and not straight to oncology. He was ready to start chopping away!! I said no, cried and ran out. Literally had to run away. My husband held back and made sure I was sent to oncology and thank God that was the right choice for me. I would of offed myself instead of get the radical surgery they suggested; It was major surgery and for what? No reason at all as it turns out. - @Marilyn Tassy
In the UK, there's a big difference with policing. Cops in the UK have to go to police college for something like 3 years before they are let loose on the public.  In the US, a cop can be on patrol with just a few months training. And of course, UK cops are not generally armed. People aren't going to get shot very often. But they do get tasered and the cops have been known to fit someone up with evidence (meaning they falsify the case against the alleged perp). Doesn't happen very often.  I have seen films where the differences between the cops and the crooks are hard to see. I can imagine DEA agents been very heavily leaned on to accept bribes. There's so much money involved in drugs and such violence and threats, it must take a toll on people's minds. Undercover, jeez, must need nerves of steel.
It was a good job your hubby was on the job - he saved you. Surgeons always want to cut stuff up. But that sounds very radical if there are other options. Sometimes I wonder if the docs are just making stuff up and experimenting on us all. I live in fear they say I need a replacement hip or I've got some other thing going on. I reckon that's the last resort. Physio would probably be the best idea, even if I have to pay for it. Not the same scale as oncology but still.Â
Yes, my husband was a true hero.
I think he was so afraid of losing me that he stepped up his game to overtime.
I have months of lost memories. I slightly recall laying flat out staring at the ceiling .
That and running to the loo to be sick, washing up and going back to bed.
I was not even as ill as some people get.
My biggest problem although I am still grateful to Hungary for caring for me is, they were the reason I got so ill.
I was a rare case of someone who is allergic to chemo. They have 2 different tests that are required to be done first in most countries which they did not do here.
I would of gladly paid out out pocket for the tests if needed. One cost $100; and the other cost$150.
My liver could not process the drugs, a genetic thing where the lack of or the low amount of enzymes in the liver can not process a chemo called, 5 FU. Love the FU add on!!
My brother had a chemo that had added 5FU but he did fine on it.
Called DPD deficiency.
Like how would your average person even know about such a reaction being possible.
One reason to do your research before signing away your life.
Chances of dying from DPD could happen with even one 5FU infusion for some people.
My sister had a hip replacement a few years ago; Sometimes it still hurts but she does allot of physical work still so if it needs to be done then research it.
Yoga stretches might help.
I was one of the most flexible people in my yoga class with my hips. Could sit up and put my feet behind my head etc. Stand on one leg and hold the other one by my ear . Post radiation I can no longer do those moves, only about half as stretchy as I used to be and I worked hard to get this far.
Radiation makes everything tight and stiff and somewhat painful in the joints.
Still, better then getting chopped up.
Your skin can get burnt raw too. Living hell for a few months but what can ya do?
Could be worst.
I wonder if my friend is silly enough to go to the protest today. i asked her again not to go for her own safety. Not sure why she needs to put herself in harms way. Different if you are 20 to 30 years old and can defend yourself and run. Not some 69 year old lady in a wheelchair with hands that do not work well.
Her husband seems a bit reckless to me to even think of taking her there.

5 FU! Now that's a kind of sticking your fingers up kind of name. How they came up with that name makes me wonder?! Perhaps it's a kind of bad joke by the researchers?Â
My bro (RIP) told me the chemo was unrelenting. It kills a lot of good cells too. He didn't look that good even then and he was hardly into the treatment plan. He also swelled up from steroid injections. Looked like he was going for an audition as the Michelin Man. Radiation gave him a rather fab looking Mohican. I cannot say it was an upside. Generally a dreadful thing. 10 years almost since he passed.
I've been looking at some hip exercises on You Tube. British guy called Joe Wicks. He's well known now on UK TV for his fitness clips. He did very well during COVID when everyone had to hide at home. He's got a good way about him.  I say I look at the exercises. I think if I started them, I might die. My daughter says start somewhere and start slowly. But I can feel my hip hurting just looking at him doing it.Â
Nice day today. It's a day for doing outside things but the heat and UV is going to be high.
There are a lot of parades and marches - Trump's Birthday, sorry Military parade in DC, Trooping the Colour in London and the No Kings all over.  No Kings hasn't reached Budapest. I'll catch the highlights another time on any of those. Always got stuff to do here at Fluffy Towers.Â
My Vegas buddy finally gave up on going to the protest.
I am glad she did.
She saw too many memes of people running over protesters and had a bad feeling .
Smart move on her part.
It is lovely outside.
We went to Tesco today to return a watermelon we bought yesterday. Got it home and realized it was rotten to the core.
Out of all the melons, he picked the worst one.
Busy today inside Arena Plaza; They had a stand set up for donations of dog supplies.
Bought a lotto ticket, yes right, big winner here!
My husband yesterday broke down and allowed me to show him a couple of yoga moves. he slept funny over a week ago and his shoulder is killing him. Hate to see that.
Rub it down, ice it, give teas for swelling and make sure he relaxes but still, not healing fast enough.
I told him to see the ortho if it does not get better and ask about a shot. No way, he does not trust any of them.
Not all are out to get you although some are, or seem to be.
They would be out of work if they actually healed people.
My hair did not fall out, got dry, sort of dull looking and had some thin patches; I bought 2 wigs but never wore them. brand new. Of course my chemo was stopped early because it made me sicker then anything.
Lucky it was winter time and I was so out of it mentally that I just did not care about hair, least of my worries at the time. I just plopped a hat on my head and went out. No makeup, no dressing fancy, nothing it was hard to even put on clothing that slightly even matched. Basic black always works.
I know i am well now because I once again care about my hair and clothing.
For 3 years I hardly bought any new clothing because I have allot already and dressing nice was the last thing on my mind; Now i am ready to take on the world again!
I feel blessed and I know I am.
It comes down sometimes to attitude, I know if one thing does not get you, something else will;
One day at a time and always make the best of each day.
Dinner is ready stuffed peppers with beef and a sauce with left over cream of potato soup.

Probably was wise for your friend not to attend the No Kings event.  I still continue to wonder why people support Trump at all. He's got a lot on his plate this morning with Israel and Iran and he's probably struggling to get his bouffant and spray on tan right.Â
I am always baffled why he thinks he's so good he can use sheer force of his personality to get result from ideologically opposed and committed groups. It's completely bonkers. Like they care what he thinks? It's a fight to the death for them. He seems to think everything is a real estate deal and it's about money. Well, guess what Donny, it aint! Prepared to die for your corner or your deal? No? Well, others are!
It is very nice outside. Mrs F volunteered to walk the dog with me but says not until later when the sun is going down. I think it's fine in the forest even now. Plenty of shade from the trees etc and a slight breeze, it's OK. It always drops a lot down from now, like 35C in the sun to 20C and a bit chilly.  I think we should go about 17h when nearly everyone is at home.
I was in the UK lottery but as usual, nada, zilch, big fat zero, null.  Story of my lottery life.Â
Mrs F bought a melon from Spar and it was fine but a little on the pricey side. I'm not that keen on water melon but I like the yellow melons rather. Quite nice with a bit of ginger and lemon. I was thinking I'd like a fruit salad today. Good to have that chilled but juicy tang on a hot day. Mrs F and a Fluffyette went to Aldi to get the stuff. It'll be for later.  At Aldi, they'd give you the money back for the rotten water melon.
Yes, chemo or otherwise, something else will get you. That's the story though, isn't it? Death by a thousand cuts for most people. I mean, having one disease doesn't stop you having another one at the same time. I think if you're seriously ill, nothing else matters. No-one is making plans I suppose in that uncertainty.
And then again, it's just easy to die in an accident. We could be lucky like that guy on the Air India plane crash. I heard an interview with a woman on a Vietnamese aircraft. She was the sole survivor. Others made it too but died by the end of day one. And she wasn't found until day 8. She had multiple injuries unlike that guy walking out of the crash in India.  I suspect everyone will want seat 11A now. That's a window seat just in front of the emergency door I believe. It's the last seat in Economy before Business.  That's one I'd avoid as there's no space for your bag under the seat in front of you but plenty of leg room. I shall think twice now about my choices.
We had chicken curry last night. And I had salmon sandwiches (in crispy rolls) for lunch. I also made a sugar free bread and butter pudding.  It's dead easy to do and one can add all sorts to liven it up - raisins, bananas, poppy seeds, cinnamon etc. Â
Bread pudding is one of my faves.
I made some a couple weeks ago, used to make it all the time but my husband said I am making him fat.
My mother made the best bread pudding, IDK, hers was always super creamy yet firm.
I also like rice pudding with raisins.
I do not like window seat on flights,I always try to get an aisle seat. I pre pay for one, worth it to me.
I took a chance on BA airlines, more like BS airlines; One a long haul from London to Vegas. They really jacked us up; Gave us seats rows away from each other between a group of pre drunk Sweds going on holiday in Vegas. All young men in their 20s who were managers of some fast food shops and this trip was their reward. Ones reward is another,s nightmare! There were 17 or more of them, all loud and drunk. I did not bother asking if anyone would allow my husband and I to sit together, no manners so why bother? I had to go over several times to make sure my husband was drinking water and taking his pill.No one offered to switch and we did not want to ask.
The long legged guy next to me had the aisle seat and was passed out drunk most of the flight. Everytime I wanted to use the WC or stretch my legs I had to wiggle around his legs to leave my seat. There was one guy in the aisle who I was chatting with as we stretched our legs out. Out of nowhere he just went down and took a nap in the aisle!!! They let him sleep there;blocking the way, had to hop over him to get to the WC or the back of the plane!
Never in my life did I see such a thing on a flight.
Never fly with BA, BS again if I can avoid it!
 Tesco took back the rotten melon and we got another one; They were on sale for 289 a kilo, saw them for 749 at other shops!
It is OK, not that sweet but not horrible; We will be making juice out of the rind. All the vitamins are in the rind. I like yellow melons better too.
Melons are a good way to get water in your system.
I remember in Ca in summer , trucks carrying melons would go up and down the streets selling them. They would even cut out a piece and let you try before you buy.

I also pay for a seat choice. I am also a fan of the aisle seat, not least because it's easy to get to the loo without fighting other people and it's faster to get off. I get so bored on the planes, anything past about 3h and I'm getting uncomfortable, not least because of my hip.  I have to walk around a bit to get it to ease off. I can only watch so many films and TV shows before even they drag.
British Airways (aka British Scareways) used to be OK but they don't fly where I want to go these days. The cheaper airlines like Wizzair have far better routes and it's pretty easy going from here to the UK to different airports on any number of airlines like Ryanair or Easyjet. One thing about BA is you know their planes are well maintained and the pilots extremely well trained. Never quite sure on the others.
I haven't seen any drunk people on planes for ages. There's a massive risk in getting kicked off if people are boozed up and now if there's a diversion, the naughty passenger(s) have to pay for it. That's a disincentive to save the boozing until the destination.  I used to drink on the plane to knock myself out, on the long haul anyway, but I don't any more. It's not proper sleep if you've had a couple of shots. Now it's tea, water and maybe coke zero. Need to keep on my game if it's work travel. Â
Glad you got the melon refund. I've been in Tesco and there was mouldy stuff in the veg section. I complained and they took it away. If they are stacking the boxes of fruits up etc., I always check the boxes underneath for sell by dates. They don't like that but hey, my choice which ones I buy.
In some countries like Tajikistan, they have an actual Melon Day. I was there and you see trucks lined up selling them off the back. People don't buy stuff like that at the supermarket. We have a couple of village fruit stalls and they sell them but they aren't refrigerated or anything so we don't know what we'd be getting. We've just had the strawberry season. Buying a box and throw half away after its all been in the sun all day. Â
We've got our own raspberry bushes. I also have a plum tree but it doesn't seem to have any plums on it. it's a bit concerning as it's not that small a tree, it's at least 5ft tall and very productive - of leaves.  We also have an apple tree, no fruits on that either. We bought it in Aldi and now that's about 6ft tall.  Our cherry tree has some cherries but not too many. It used to be hugely productive - many kg of cherries.  Our peach tree had 3 peaches but 2 dropped off and 1 one is still there. It's really not looking healthy. We had to spray it with anti-fungals.  I have to do it again as it needs two doses.  It's got very few leaves but the anti-fungal has made a big difference. It's just not bushy enough.
Mrs F is working on tomato, cucumber and beans now.  The only thing which seems to be looking massively healthy are my 3 grapevines. They've only been in the ground 1 year so aren't completely established yet they are all showing nice bunches of grapes and excellent growth.  I've decided to "sponsor" the grapevines and take care of them. I'm using tomato food on them. Mrs F usually does the "garden produce" so this is a bit unusual.
The other day, I did some concreting (lime plastering really) on my hi-tech birdbath. It's almost done. I only have to connect the wiring for the mood/down lighting and water seal the actual bath. It should look good when it's done. I need to get the bird bath hidden camera too. Then I can see the birdies splashing away. Or the cat looking for its dinner - we could have made a Büfé for the furry friend.  Maybe I'll need to put barbed wire around it so it looks like a model of a commie guard tower.  I must say, being semi-retired has really brought on a lot of my half-completed (half-assed?) outside jobs.  I've got a new idea - a new design for a wood storage unit.  Mrs F is fed up with the current wood storage overflow blocking up the parking area. And that's with a giant 5m pop up pool taking up loads of space. Â
Yesterday, we were walking in the forest and we met another dog (German Shepherd) which angrily attacked our Goldie. She was injured and bleeding. Cut tongue, bleeding nose.  So we'll be having a trip to the vet tomorrow as she'll need antibiotics. Poor doggy looks depressed now and unhappy but is improving. Vet told us not to give her too much food because it could help infect the wounds.  Maybe she'll need to be anaesthetised so the vet can look at her mouth.  We've never seen such an aggressive response on our doggy who blindly just wants to be friends with everyone.
Oh, and it's Father's Day.  I received 2 cards and one present from 4 kids. Not too bad all things considered how spread out we all are - HU, Canada and UK. Maybe I'll get another Instant Message from Canada from the one over there in Ontario.Â
IDK anything about gardens but my in laws had a very productive one.
I know fruit trees need to be pruned at certain times in certain ways and they only last a couple of years or so.
We had a wonderful large lemon tree in Ca; Gave us so much fruit we did not know what to do with it. Would drop off full paper grocery bags full to neighbors just so they did not go to waste. I had enough in the freezer for years to come.
Sorry about the dog fight;
I am guessing the other dog was off lead?
My Doberman was trained to be off lead but because of his size, breed and fear of Dobermans most people have, I 99% of the time kept him on lead. I did it mostly for his protection from some idiot trying to club him or freak out.
I used a pinch collar because he honestly even with training was too strong for your average person to handle if things got ugly.
He could take off a grown mans arm if he got going.
My mother used to flip out as to why I had such a large dog, she always said I needed a lap dog, well Dobermans are lap dogs at times too.
They are super sweet animals in the right hands.
I watched a video the other night about how to stop a dog bite. After that hipster dog deal the other day I wanted more info. Not sure I am strong or fast enough but I would give it a try if needed; Have to wiggle their collar up towards their jaw bone from behind them and chock them out; No collar could be tricky but you use your forearm and other hand to squeeze their throat till they pass out , then run!
I saw my friend getting bite from a pit bull when I was 7. The teenage boy who owned the dog was beating his dog with our baseball bat but once they are locked on to flesh, they will not let go easily. Have to cut off their air supply.
I hope the dog owner is going to pay for your vet bills, only right to do so.
Saw a 6 year old girl drown at the spa the other day. Her stupid mother was right there but on her cell phone!! Nice going mom!
I just do not understand that one at all.
Happy Father,s day to all the dads out there!
Our son sent a greeting to his father but he did not call yesterday.
I hung up on him the day before because he was getting rude. I told him he was too old to talk like a fool and hung up on him.
Sucks to have a disagreement with anyone but some people need to wake up.
One second thought, in obedience training with my Max, the instructor did choke out my Dobbie once.
It works, I had to turn my back and not watch because it hurt to see but he learned his lesson.
He got up from a sit stay and went around to a female dog and started sniffing her. I do not remember if this exercise was off lead or life we just had a lunge line on the dogs.
The teacher told him , OUT and he looked at her and growled. She went to him, lifted him off of his front legs by his neck and chocked him till he went down. She said sorry to me but that it had to be done.
She raised Rotties, had 3 of them and did not take any BS off any pet.
One tough lady, could tell when I first met her, she had on white nurse shoes like nurse Ratchet! All business no messing about.
That was the one time my Max did growl at a person for no reason, forgot about that, he was still a puppy at the time.

I don't think we'll take the doggy to the vet. She's got to go next week anyway for a vaccinations and she seems to be subdued but not seriously injured. She can be given the once over then. We have some antibiotics for the dog anyway so we can give some of those.
We often walk our dog without a lead in the forest as she's so friendly but now it's new rules - meet another dog, always on the lead now and no friendly sniffing. Just total avoidance. It's been very upsetting, remarkably so. Mrs F was quite disturbed by the incident.  I didn't think she liked the dog that much. We have no details on the other dog but we do know what kind of dog and I'd recognise the people.Â
I've heard the way to stop a mad dog is to push its front legs apart. Their chests are really weak and it could cause a heart issue. But if you're being savaged, it's hard to imagine if you could keep your cool and do that. I wouldn't have any qualms about stabbing a mad dog or belting it with a bit of pipe.  One has to think about self-preservation.
I don't know anything about gardening either. I rely on Mrs F. I have been looking at designs for wood storage as a new project. I'd need to make a kind of cylinder. I'm thinking of something like this below. It's easy to make a frame for it. I can then "stretch" and bend bits of steel sheet around the outside. I've got some I can cut off another thing I made. Don't want to buy anything unnecessarily. It's artistic enough for a "rough" look to be artistic. Â
Our kids have been watching the news too much. They have been talking of turning our cellar into a bunker. OK, we can do that but we'd need help to make that work - they'd have to work on it with us.  My thinking is if the fighting gets closer, forget the house, get out and far away asap. We'd be in the queue with everyone else running for Austria.Â
Wood storage model - like garden furniture:

That looks like a work of art. Might as well make something look nice as well as being functional.
I should talk, our flat looks like a Hoarder Heaven, someday I will get my husband to clear his areas up.
used to flip out over how messy he can get but these days I am happy we are still breathing and try to not make a fuss about the small things. Did flip out a tiny bit this morning when I found chunks of cake on the floor, use a dish is on repeat around here! I now have another excuse to wash the floor.
Did the owns of that German Sheppard know what their dog did? If so and they said or did nothing then they are real jerks.
Our family dog came home from roaming the hills in San Fernando in the early 1960s all torn up. He obviously had a run in with coyotes. He was half alive and somehow made it home,huge open wounds all over his body. My mom and eldest sister quickly wrapped bed sheets around him and drove at high speed to the vet. He stayed there for about a week. We kids all prayed every night, like in a movie, on our knees and all. He lived to be over 17 years old.
Not sure why I forgot how the obedience trainer had to chock my dog out in class in front of everyone. He had to learn not to growl and snap, he snapped at her for not allowing him to get to that female dog.He never tried anything like that again, so it worked the first time.
She grabbed him by his collar, we always had chock chains on our dog in class. Got behind him and lifted him off the ground by his neck until he just went limp for a few moments. She gave him time to gather himself and we just got on with class.
He was one of the largest puppies in class and I was a first time dog owner except for having family pets as a child. A very powerful breed of dog for a newbie like me to have but it worked out fine.
What nearly 30 years on my my shoulder still remember him pulling me so hard my arm nearly fell off;
That is why I started him in training, realized he was too much for me unless I took control of him before he got any stronger.
He did novice and grad novice training; One course was 6 weeks long and the other 2 months long.
It really got to be fun to see how smart he could be and how fast he learned. We trained them to do a long stay while we left the area to see if they would listen to commands without us being in sight. Some breeds listen better then others but he did it, think it was about 5 mins when we all hid and only the trainer kept an eye on all the dogs. He learned to lay down mid run on command and stay there. He would just drop when told to, comes in handy if car is coming and you want them to not run into the street or worst.
He even did his sit at all traffic lights and I felt bad when he was old and I knew it must of hurt his joints. Could not break that habit though, such a good boy.
Yes, the news, I have taken a break from it for a few days.
I did however see a warning from Trump for those living in Tehran to evacuate!
Looked it up, nearly 10 million live in the city!
Where are they suppose to go?
My friend in N.Ca; lived in Tehran for 5 years, left in 1978 when being a 6 foot tall blonde American was not a good look for the times.
She took her 2 children and her husband came to the US about 6 months later.
When we had that silly US Cuba thing in the 1960s,our mother scared us more then any commie could.
She said because we did not have a bomb shelter she had another idea if those dirty commies invaded the US or sent a nuke our way.
She would be giving us all sleeping pills, turn on the gas from the oven then put a pillow over our faces before she shot herself.
Nice one mom! I started watching the news at age 7 and was fully invested in the outcome!
Gosh mom, talk about crazy ideas!

Your Mum was planning on taking the Goebels technique way out. He stuck by Adolf to the end. I really don't know how anyone could do that to their kids. I couldn't do it. I'd try and get them out to safety or die trying. And who'd top themselves or sacrifice themselves for Donald Trump? No-one with any sense. Not even for money unlike those Russians for Putin.
Here's my prediction - I reckon Trump left the G7 because the USA is going to enter the war with the bunker buster bombs to finish Iran once and for all. And Israel is going to kill the Supreme Leader. No-one West of Iran is going to be crying over it.  There will be massive chaos afterwards.  Interesting Iran turned out to be a paper tiger.
Or Trump is so bound up in his own self-importance, he cannot take anyone disagreeing with him. His approval rating has apparently plummeted.  It could all implode by the middle of the year.  The country cannot continue to be run by clowns.  It's also interesting that this is a real MAGA crisis.
I'll cross post this in International Relations.
BTW, more large sized helicopters over my village. More than just local choppers.  They seem to be whizzing past at low level and high speed.  I looked online (Flight Radar 24) and the latest ones are not even shown (its not compulsory to broadcast information). Makes you wonder who is on that helicopter and where they are going.
Goebels technique, that is funny.
My fathers nickname for mom was Geronimo, only when she was in one of her rebel moods.
He was a wise guy at times, funny and used a somewhat Jersey accent, not sure where he got that though, He was raised in Conn. His fave line was calling us children, yous guys. Like in Goodfellas.
I am in a very irritated mood today, not sure what nickname I should use for myself!
First off my amputee brother wrote telling me how depressed he is. I wish I lived closer to make him laugh or help him out.
I thought his wife had his new bathroom done already but he wrote saying the guy is taking his time, of course charging for his time to remodel their condo.
One bathroom is upstairs and not being worked on but his bath is still being fixed; His wife had over a year to do that job.
He has not been able to shower in a week and he is getting upset about it. I would be and I am too.
I told him to go to the pool area and use their shower to cool off and use the pool, get himself a pool noodle if needed to relax. He said there are too many stairs for him. I think he is more weirded out about not having a leg then the stairs. Such a huge adjustment for him to get used to.
Then my husband and I chatted this morning and we mentioned his brother; He is controlled by his wife.
Years ago we invited him and my MIL to Ca; for a month or 6 weeks. We paid for it all;
Later we heard his wife was angry we did not bring her too!
Like really, we only wanted my MIL to begin with but invited him to make sure my MIL got to the US safe and was not afraid to travel.
Ok, so now I hear he bad mouthed me because I did not provide him with enough snacks!!
What??, We took them both grocery shopping with us, discussed what meals we planned on making, I open my fridge up and showed them where everything was and told them to help themselves.
I was a busy person in the mornings, taking my son to school, walking our dog, going to the gym and running errands afterwards.
He never said a word about snacks and needing to stuff his face at will. What are snacks? Chips and nuts all over in dishes,IDK? had fruit, lunch meats bread etc; maybe he expected me to serve him on a golden plate???
Then in Hungary in 2000Â I had minor laser surgery on my face. It was cheap at the time and since I worked in casinos and had people up close to me at all times, I wanted to look my best. Just a tiny bit of laser on my top lip and under each eye, sun damage over the years. never would do that again, it hurt!!
I looked all red post surgery and we drove over to my BIL house for a visit, I had small bandages on for a week or so.
Now I hear his wife told half the world I had a face lift!!
Dang if I do not hate gossips and liars.
I wonder what other tales they have told that are untrue?
Seems no matter what you do or how hard you try, people expect more without giving themselves.
I can only hope I never see either of them again because I will say what I think in person and it will get ugly.
Have not seen them in over 20 years and am happy as a clam about it too!
Now I know I really do not wish to learn Hungarian, seems it is only for gossips and liars and trouble makers.

Your activities seem positively exciting compared to the semi-comatose existence at Fluffy Towers. My sister actually had a face lift. I cannot say it looked right. She looked like a fake version of herself. Like she was constantly surprised.  It didn't work really as the sagging has set in yet again. It only lasted 10 years. It's like she rented the work.
Now, Goodfellas, what a movie! "You think I'm funny, what's so funny about me?". Apparently those lines were ad-libbed by Joe Pesci unless that is a movie myth. I think it's actually a better movie than The Godfather, which is of course, brilliant as well. You've done it now, Goodfellas will probably have to be this afternoon's movie. It's quite long - 2h 25m.  While I've been typing this, it's already downloaded. The background to The Godfather was in the TV series The Offer. It was a great TV show if you're a movie buff.
Maybe Lon should get involved with some local activities? Maybe volunteer at some amputee centre or maybe the VA or similar. OK, he didn't get it in combat but coping will be somewhat the same (I suppose).  A friend of mine's sick wife was very depressed and he took her to the local church where they were organising a food bank. He said it just made all the difference to her. She got to meet people, see a different life, have a chat, change of scene and so on. It gave her new confidence and improved her QoL (Quality of Life). I hadn't thought of that as an avenue.  She's since passed so no longer a need there.
Mrs F always tells me I'm lucky not understanding Hungarian - I don't get involved in the BS around here.  It also keeps my neighbours off my back - they want to borrow tools like chainsaws. No way Jose! Dangerous tools and expensive.  They have a giant tree which is dead. Get a professional in and one with insurance! I'd chop it up when it's on the ground but they'd be insane to chop down a 60ft/20m tree themselves. It's also not far from our boundary.  I chopped up my MIL's tree but they have a massive garden so I could do it over days and weeks.  All the wood is now here, ready for burning. Mild winters haven't really let us burn it up.  We'll have too much if we have their logs as well.Â
In the meantime, I'm working on how to make my wood storage unit posted previously.  I've already chopped up some metal tubing to make a frame. I might have to go and get some new thin metal sheet I can bend. I've got a plan to bend the metal tubing. I know how to bend copper tubing but this is waste steel pipe and is going to be a lot more difficult. It doesn't need to be water tight etc, it's just support for the sheet metal covering.Â
My hi-tech birdbath is now powered up with the mood lighting. It's on a timer and it lights up 21.30h to 00.00h to provide some visual interest.  It's looking really rather good. Surprisingly good if I don't say so myself. I think the family like it. I need to finish the actual bath and then we can fully assemble it with some heavy lift.  Then I have to add the camera and its housing.  I'm wasted doing what I do for work. I should have connected to my inner sculptor.
Our daughter wants me to make a Tiffany lamp but I'm thinking of also making a 5ft light sculpture for the garden - a tree - metal frame of small tubes or rods bent to look like branches and copper leaves brazed on to it. The metal will be unpainted so it will "rust" up to make more colour.  The copper is easy to work and I can cut the leaves up using tin snips and work using ball pein hammers and chisels to give a leaf shape. Brazing is easy. I would be concerned if the edges were too sharp - they'd cut people.  The leaves would have hidden changing illumination of different colours allowing an interplay of the metal colours and the coloured LED bulbs.  It would be particularly nice in the snow - like a kind of Christmas tree.
An interesting thing is discussing this with our artistic daughter. She has great concepts but I've been trying to get her to be interested in how your could actually realise your concept. Sketches are fine but they have to be engineered in real life. I think she's getting the idea now.  It's like fancy architecture. It has to be made of materials, calculations have to be made with safety considered.  It also means compromises have to be made. I wonder if she can make a career out of it. She's still working on going to Korea to work in the entertainment industry - whatever that means.  There's a Korean film festival this weekend in Budapest. Apparently we're going but what it'll be about, I do not know!
Bloody hell, two US Apache helicopters have just flown over low. All going in the same direction as the others to the North.  Call sign BLOOD01. Nice name. They are going North for what reason?  They left from Ferihegy. Presumably refuelling at BUD. This has been going on several days. Maybe movements related to Iran or to Ukraine. The Apaches have just crossed into Slovakia. Landed Brno.
Update: 3 x Apaches more headed North. Call sign BLOOD02. Also stopped at BUD. Now leaving HU for Slovakia. Presumably also landing Brno for refuelling.
Sounds like the birds have it, lights and all.
Sounds nice really.
I often wish I could transform into a bird and just fly away .
Not sure what sort of bird. perhaps a stork since they fly over the ocean then again, I do not wish to be delivering babies.
My deceased sister was very artistic but me, not very much, sad to say.
I am such a reality based person that many ideas escape me.I had little interest in being a creative hairdresser although I did stick to the rules and did everything in order, listened to what a client wanted and did the best work I could on everyone. Sometimes I knew I was wasting my time, the person looked like a none tipper type but still I gave them my all and respect for giving their time and money away.
I really was good at being a games dealer, rules that were enforced, kept   a so called, clean game. called every action out as needed and never cheated anyone. If I every made a mistake on a game, I was the first to call myself out   and call the boss over to correct it. I should of joined the military.
Very concerning though to see helicopters flying about doing exercises. Not good.
I think Mrs Fluffy and my husband think the same way.He always tells me to not bother learinng Hungarian because for one thing it is a crazy language and he only wants me to learn the proper higher class way of speaking. Most people he hears on the street born here he says can not speak the language properly.
He does not want me to repeat sloppy Hungarian phrases or curse words that st; people use.
Just the other day a Gypsy women called out to a man and called him a very rude word like it was nothing.
All I can repeat is in English the word was come but it was not in English! Mrs Fluffy might know what it is, nasty to scream it out in public or even in a doctors office.
I have a hairdresser friend here that for reasons I can not share ATM I have stopped going to who is from Central America. he took Hungarian language classes and I am proud of how well he did. He is so comfy here in Hungary. Good on him, he is a good 25 years younger then me so his brain is working sharper them mine.
My brother , Lon is still a bit new to being an amputee and his strength is not normal yet after sepsis. That did more damage then losing his leg. His pride took a huge hit too. From handsome biker dude to being a handicapped person must be hard to deal with. I give him credit for even going on. I know our parents would be flipping out if they only knew what he has gone through. Maybe someday he can be a role model to someone but ATM he needs one himself;

I dunno about the birds and the birdbath. They don't care. It's for us really.  Being a bird is attractive but being a cat could be much better.  People feed you for nothing, there's no work and you can slope about all day with an occasional stroking and maybe a bit of performing chasing a rubber mouse.  What's not to like? I don't see any cats with insomnia.Â
We did have the bird bath in situ previously and we did have birdy visitors who really gave themselves a good splashing.  We'll have to put some olive oil in to create a film on it to deter the mosquitos.
I think the helicopters are just troop movements. I reckon they are going to somewhere like Ramstein airbase and they'll be packaged up and shipped to Djibouti or Bahrain. I think Trump will help Israel. Easy win and he'll take all the credit. All about him as usual.
My language skills here are low. I know English of course and my German isn't terrible (or wasn't previously). I am learning Hungarian. It's impossible not to. People speak and people listen. It's hard not to absorb some of it. I guess expat means never having to say you're sorry for bad language skills.
Lon shouldn't be worried about his biker credentials. Doesn't it just add to his street cred? He could say he lost it in a shoot out with the bad guys during over an undercover DEA drug deal gone bad. Or Chinese spies kidnapped him and tortured him for his CIA knowledge and he lost it being shot escaping from a camp north of Mongolia.  Or it's part of an Elon Musk robotic experiment.  Or he just woke up and it was gone and he's still looking for it using Frank Cannon PI on orders from the Teflon Don. Or a shark took it when surfing. Or it was a biking accident.  Anything! And just tell everyone different stuff to keep the mystique and joke going.
I've seen people walking on prosthetic legs. It seems to be a badge of honour for some. And some of those hi-tech legs look really sci-fi. If he could build up his strength, he could look like a really cool dude.  He could be an extra in TV shows and take acting lessons. There are loads of scenes with disabled folks in them - where people's limbs are missing.  Â
He could write to Arnold Schwarzenegger.  I've said that before. Arnie apparently responds well to the right kind of enquiry if it's phrased correctly - like "I need a nutrition and exercise programme to build up strength on my remaining physique". I want to be a champion for others in the same position and bring meaning to their lives. Can you offer any advice Arnie? Â
You never know, it could be a whole different life! Â
You have to have a laugh.......

Well, if you pray, it might be time to double up on prayer time;
Trump just bombed 3 Nuke sites in Iran.
Saw it coming but for it to actually happen is another thing.
All part of the great re set.
I am sure there are sleeper cells all over the world, ready for revenge.
False flags and real events.
Heat wave this week, almost picked up a tiny air cooler but decided not to.
Sweating is good for you.
Went to OBI a few days ago.
I doubt we will ever go there again, at least not with our car.
They have made it so hard to get out of their parking lot.
I told my husband before we entered that we would not engage with anyone we did not need to engage with.
The store clerks were nice enough, showed us where to find what we needed.
The thing is as you drive into the lot, at least the OBI store near us, they have a entry gate.
No ticket came out but the green light came on the the gate rose to let us in.
All fine and dandy until we tried to drive out the exit gate. We tried to drive out but the gate would not allow us to. Had to repark and go into the store for instructions.
No sign that you needed to scan your receipt at an machine located near the exit, outside the store.
We walked to the gate where we entered and listened to instructions only in Hungarian, what if you are an English only speaker?
Well could not see the ticket machine, went in to ask a clerk, a chubby middle aged women with blonde hair.She was just standing around watching the other clerks. My husband greeted her and asked where and how to get out of their gate. She did not know, she rides the bus! Typical Hungarian attitude; Although she works in the store, she knows nothing about customer service or how things work in their shop.
We went out looked for the machine, could not see it. Went back in the store to ask again about who could tell us how it went.
My husband did not realize they switched out chubby middle aged women, now it was a red head in the blondes place. He did not greet her this time because he did not notice it was another person. She got all huffy because he did not greet her before asking how the heck to escape their parking lot. He got upset and just walked away from her and went to another young clerk, she also knew nada about how the stores parking gate worked.
A customer came to me and was going to show us how the machine worked and more important, where it was located.
Good grief,don,t they have co; meetings and inform their employees about important matters? Had to scan the receipt and put in your cars plate number to get out the gate.
So cheap, why not just give a paper ticket when you enter? Saving that tiny bit of paper is a profit for them?
So sadly, we did engage with silly people. The customer service is a joke. On the bright side, I know my husband is not checking out the ladies as he did not see one for the other. Or maybe chubby middle aged women with short hair are not in his radar?

Yes, bit surprised this came earlier than I thought but as I posted in the temporarily stopped "International Relations", it was going to happen. Israel will no doubt continue its actions and Iran it's responses.Â
BTW, I'm mightily annoyed "International Relations" was halted because of trolls.  We could have had some good discussions going there on this subject if posters had been rational. Â
My niece is in UAE with her kids. She planning to leave and go back to the UK as Iran is 30m flying time. But it's only 3.5h from here to Dubai.  Personally I think it'll mean little disruption in the longer term.  It'll fizzle out as a threat to us over here in Hungary but I do wonder about the oil price and restrictions on travel. They might close the Straits of Hormuz. 30% of the world oil goes via there. But others only need pump more oil to help stability. And Putin will be wondering if it's all going to plan - Putin will meet with the Iranian FM.  Erdogan in Turkey seems to be losing the plot a bit - not sure what that's about.
It's not even caused a blip on my Canada based daughter's radar. And no-one there is fretting about it.
As an adult I've lived through a bunch of wars - Falklands, Bosnia, Kosovo, 2 x Gulf Wars, Syria etc and seen a shedload of uprisings which muddled up my jobs. But really, they didn't really cause any serious disruption and actually increased work opportunities for me. Trump is going to have to bring back USAID on this stuff - short sighted to have cancelled it. He's already boosted VoA for the Iranian services - had to restart it. Â
Come to think of it, COVID was worse disruption.Â
We could be in the foothills of WW3 but I think it's hard to tell for sure and my crystal ball is cloudy today.
It's causing uncertainty at Fluffy Towers. I want to renovate my shed. But do I want to do that if it's going to be blown up?  It'll need a new roof, windows, doors and so on. Mrs F thinks we should wait a year. If we do it, I'd have to buy a container building to put our stuff in while it's being rebuilt. When we've done the shed, I think we could transport the container to either the MIL's as a site office or to Balaton to use as extra space at the holiday hovel. Decisions, decisions! Â

Had to repark and go into the store for instructions.No sign that you needed to scan your receipt at an machine located near the exit, outside the store.We walked to the gate where we entered and listened to instructions only in Hungarian, what if you are an English only speaker?Well could not see the ticket machine, went in to ask a clerk, a chubby middle aged women with blonde hair.She was just standing around watching the other clerks. My husband greeted her and asked where and how to get out of their gate. She did not know, she rides the bus! Typical Hungarian attitude; Although she works in the store, she knows nothing about customer service or how things work in their shop.We went out looked for the machine, could not see it. Went back in the store to ask again about who could tell us how it went.My husband did not realize they switched out chubby middle aged women, now it was a red head in the blondes place. He did not greet her this time because he did not notice it was another person. She got all huffy because he did not greet her before asking how the heck to escape their parking lot. He got upset and just walked away from her and went to another young clerk, she also knew nada about how the stores parking gate worked.A customer came to me and was going to show us how the machine worked and more important, where it was located.Good grief,don,t they have co; meetings and inform their employees about important matters? Had to scan the receipt and put in your cars plate number to get out the gate.So cheap, why not just give a paper ticket when you enter? Saving that tiny bit of paper is a profit for them?So sadly, we did engage with silly people. The customer service is a joke. On the bright side, I know my husband is not checking out the ladies as he did not see one for the other. Or maybe chubby middle aged women with short hair are not in his radar? - @Marilyn Tassy
We've got airco throughout our house. I originally was going to have it installed in just the bedrooms but it was only marginally more to install it in all the rooms except the hallway. I've also installed ceiling fans in the main bedroom, office and living room. They help a lot when airco is not needed. Just put the blinds down and turn the fans on.
Obi is a bit of a useless shop. We do go there but I struggle with it. I'm often buying metal working things and we've found it easier just to go to the local professional steel stockholders. They've got lots of interesting things like steel sheet, rods, galvanised fittings, cutting discs, welding rods and wot not. If I need electrical parts, we just go to the professional shops and get stuff there. It can be considerably cheaper than Obi.  I do shop around checking prices at Praktiker and Obi.  I need some wood shelving to use as panelling. I won't have a choice but Obi for it.
I've seen those parking systems in town before but out of town, it's all free unregulated parking anyway. We wouldn't need to go to a DIY shop in town. Every thing is in the burbs. But of course, it means using the car which is a problem for people living in the city who don't have their own transport.
Staff training in HU is rubbish. We have a new Vietnamese shop here and they had to hire a HU assistant because that person will have the shop certificate. As soon as one of the Viet Nam people has the certificate, the HU assistant will have to go.  I don't know why anyone needs a certificate to work in a shop! It's not that difficult. Surely?
No. 1 HU daughter had a birthday party last night at our house.  It's not actually her birthday but it was a convenient weekend. She organised it all herself and there were about 12 guests. They boozed it up here, then went into town for some bars and clubs finishing up at almost 6am. Now back home safe. I reckon we won't see her before 3pm.
And now it's summer holidays for Uni and school so they can enjoy themselves! Oh for those carefree days!
Today's events will be car washing, dog walking (when cooler) and water barrel collecting from the MIL's place. Exciting! Â
I am considering returning the item I purchased from OBI, just out of spite.
It was too expensive for what it is also.
Not sure you can get a refund from them but worth a try.
I thought it was overpriced but my common sense was not working.
Looked quickly at items in the store, all overpriced, would be crazy to fix up a home at those prices. probably cheaper to buy a new house instead.
Early BD party.Fun night, now time to pay the piper, hot with a hangover is not fun.
I stick to low alcohol drinks; 11 to 12 % wine or no more then 5% for a beer;
Still the additives in them are not healthy, I know better.
Read a article today that beer was listed in Russia as a soft drink until 2021. Anything under 10% was a soft drink! Wild, guess children could of bought beer until 2021 in Russia?
I know as a child I used to buy a pack of cigs for my father with just a note.
My husband said in Hungary when he was a boy they had vending machines where anyone could buy a single cig at a time; No wonder he and his friends started smoking at age 8!
So glad he stopped that nasty habit for the last time many decades ago.
My sisters have been under the weather for a couple weeks now. They feel flu like.
I just had a thought today, my mind is working slower then it used to, I should of thought of this straight away;
I am pretty sure their problem is from indoor pets.
3 cats and their urine box plus the lazy younger sisters dog uses doggie pads in the house for all of his business! I can not believe he is 11 years old and was never house trained! It is disgusting. i told my eldest sister I could not even think of visiting them with those pets. My immune system would crash and my allergies would go crazy; Let alone being unable to eat in such filth.
IDK, what the heck is going on with them!
Neither is the best housekeeper but this is over the top;
When I was about 2 or 3 years old in Conn; My father build me a sand box to play in our in our back yard; I spent hours with my sand and pail building castles and making muddy sand pies ;
Then mom had to take me to the doctor because I got a infection from sitting in the sandbox! The neighborhood cats were using it and got me ill;
I remember my father swearing his head off while tearing the sandbox apart.
I like animals but they can be dirty and not suppose to be pooping and peeing inside a humans home. No way, snow, heat or whatever, they have to go outdoors unless you have one of those smart ones who knows how to use the toilet. I have seen videos where dogs climb up and use a human WC, rare I am sure.
Something is going on in Minn; my eldest sister must be having dementia and the younger one is just out of her mind to begin with.
They are yet again filming another movie on our st; Getting a bit tired of it actually.

Best to take it right back to Obi and get a refund.  No point it keeping it if it doesn't do what you need.
Sandpits are magnets for cats to do their business in. They need covers on them to keep the little buggers out of there.  No wonder it was full of infection. Dogs are even worse. Face licking I cannot stand to see. They can carry all sorts on their tongues and dog crap can have worms in it that infect eyes and make people blind.Â
Animals really need to stay outside. They are of course built for it.  Now it's summer and our doggy can stay outside overnight. Vet said she was fat so one day a week, we'll have to lay off the grub.Â
We were just at the vets for our furry friend to have an anti-rabies shot.  She got the once over and she's got some lumps but it's not clear what it is. Vet said to just keep an eye on it to see if it gets any bigger. Â
And rather stupidly, I reversed into a tree and damaged my bumper on my hobby car.  Now I'll have to take the bumper off and see if I can straighten bracket out.  They don't make the brackets any more so it's that way or live with it being slightly crooked.  Scrapyard is the only place possibly I could get some and those cars are few and far between now. And here, in HU, almost impossible to source. I've seen some in Germany, but out of stock. Even US stores say, discontinued. Â
Not working out to be a very nice Monday. And it's really hot too! Â
I hope to return that item today if I do not forget.
We have to drive over since it is not super close by and I will not take the bus in the heat.
Only if needed.
Wanted to go to the lake but the wind is putting us off.
They wrapped up filming last night around midnight.
Hope we get a break from filming for a bit.
They make allot of racket sometimes.
Sorry about the bumper. I think we all have backed into a post or something at one time or the other.
Worst is when the car is nice looking and it gets a scratch or dent.
Our dog developed a lump on his chest in his last years. It probably was cancer ; The vet said he had it and arthritis at age 12. I shelled out $125. in 1990 money for his pain meds.
I hope it is nothing serious, maybe a swollen lymph node?
That is what puts me off about getting a pet again;
It is for life and the costs can add up if they get ill or old.
I never sat down to figure out how much we spent on our dog but it was more then average, with long term boarding, Hawaiian quarantine, back surgery, obedience training classes, best food I though we could get him,and the biggest expense was renting a big house in Hilo just so he had room to run and play. Almost impossible to find a flat that would take a large dog. We got lucky although we paid the price for it.
Airline tickets and crates for traveling with him. paying extra driving cross country to have a dog in a hotel room, no way could we sneak in a Doberman, too big to hide.
I sent over some info on living with a dog using the WC inside, my eldest sister of course said her cats were clean, the dog was checked for worms months ago, he did have flees but they washed all the pets and now they are flee free;
I know you can get ill by pets and not just from flees and worms.
She actually looks for trouble, she collects stray cats , has a deal with a vet to get them fixed for a low cost then releases them;
She acts like a rich old cat lady, the rick part is missing though! She said when the dog uses the WC in the house they quickly clean it up with 99.9% bacteria killer wipes; What a silly waste of money and YUCK.
They are fighting each other like cats and dogs too; The younger one seems to think the place is her own property and can do what she wants at all times.
IDK,something is brewing, one or the other is going to snap and then it really will be sad.
At least Trump has made yet another deal, he said there is a peace treaty with Israel and Iran. A 12 day war, not a 6 day one!

Good job you weren't too disturbed by the filming.  They must like your street for Paris or wherever. I see that street in quite a few movies. One has to wonder that people don't notice it being repeated for scenes all the time. It's the sort of trivia I like to know about. I'm also keen on finding goofs in TV shows and movies.Â
Those bacteria wipes will go down the toilet I suppose. I think possibly, they're going to be banned in Europe as they cause massive blockages in the sewers.  They should go in the trash bin but I am not sure that'll be a good idea as well. Terrible smell longer term unless they bag it all up.  Fixing random cats seems to be a way to get broke quickly. Like the cats care about humans! They don't even know who we are!
Our doggy will be OK.  If she has something unhappy, then I suppose there's nothing much we can do about it. I am not convinced about spending a lot of money to try and cure her.  She's probably got average genes body wise but otherwise I think she's quite intelligent. She has the run of the garden so she can just do her own thing without getting into trouble.  We were looking at the flea and tick collars in the vet's place and it was 17,000 HUF there! That's loads of money. I think we'll look online for a cheaper version - mail order.  HU people have money for pets as it was pretty busy in there.  UK vets are far too expensive - people are now putting their pets down rather than pay out.  One of my kids paid out £3000 for her cat to have radiation treatment for her thyroid condition. It seems to have worked 100% but that's a lot of money for a 12-year old cat.  I am not sure I could go that distance.
I got my bumper off and saw the damage. Stupidly I tried to take these "crumple" brackets off and while I managed to disassemble it, I had to cut some bolts off to get the bracket off. Now I find the bolts are well and truly rusted into the holes in the metal chassis. Now I'm a bit stuck. I got fed up so I just stopped working on it so I can think about it a bit and maybe look at YouTube.  As it turns out, with my pushing and banging, I think I could probably just have bent it back while it was in the car. I'll have another go at it tomorrow. I think the only way it'll come out is by drilling. It's really hard work to do it.   I just ran out of steam and couldn't do any more today. And it was so hot! I had to put up tarps to cover my working area to avoid getting overheated.
The next few days are going to be killer hot, not good to work outside. Stay cool, cars can wait.
I know of a Deuterium depleted water developed in Hungary in 1999 by a vet at the animal clinic.
It had been proved to cure tumors in dogs. They do not claim for human because that would open up a can of worms with legal issues.
It is called Preventa Water; It is sold in health food shops in 50 countries; The US and all over the EU.
I tried a couple of bottles of it but as it is very expensive and I at the time was trying many things at one, put off going full on with it and let my other products work; Was going to go full pereventa if things got really bad;
They sell it is different amounts of strength from 25% to 125%;
I forgot how much it cost, I tired the 45% and it was about just under $5; for one and half liters.
Suppose to only drink that for a min; of 30 days for the treatment.
You can look it up online for more detailed info.
Taste was good,my husband watched a long 90 min video in Hungarian on it from the vet who discovered it.
If I ever had a need to again, I would invest it a crate of that water.
Older sister is planning on calling the country today to see what she can do with the halfie.
I hope they can help or at least give her some good ideas.
If it were me, there already would of been a police report or one of us would be locked up by now!
No respect for the eldest home or things, has a big mouth and talks back like she is a 12 year old. She owes the eldest over $500. and the tab is going, not counting the items the eldest bought for her without charge or the fact she added her to her auto insurance without charging her. I am so mad, I dislike unfairness; She leaves dirty dishes out for days, does not clean up and is a general pain in the bottom.I suggested the eldest find a nice quiet apt for seniors for herself and just give the halfie a 30 day notice to vacate. What else can she do?
Another thing to try for the dog is called, Huminiqum.
It is Hungarian, sold in Rossman, and other shops.
Health food stores as well; The prices can vary slightly from shop to shop, not much, perhaps 500 forints here and there.
It is great stuff; Vitamin C, copper B vitamins Zinc and much more. Add it to the dogs food, comes in dark liquid and in tablets. I use the liquid, add to water.
Try some nori broken up into the dogs food, full of iodine.
Huminqum was show to kill off cancer cells in cows!
Dogs and cows, can work for humans too but no claims on that.

Good to know. She seems quite happy though. Not complaining and not really doing anything different day to day. I do think she might have just a bit slowed down but it could be the heat. I'm trying to keep her inside out of the sun and airconditioned. She cannot take that heavy shaggy coat off. Mrs F's cousin's dog died of heat stroke a few summers ago. Not something we want to see going on with our doggy. I will take her for a walk but only when the sun has started to go down. Â

I'm not sure I fancy radioactive water at all. Depleted or otherwise. In my own country, there's a danger of Radon gas - it's typically found in granite rock areas (mainly South West of England). If it seeps into people's houses, it's considered so dangerous, the occupants have to leave!  There's no way to combat it. Granite looks nice in the countryside but it has its bad points au naturelle.
Back in the 50s, they had all sorts of "fashionable" ideas about Radium. It took them ages to realise it'd kill people over the long term. I used to have a watch with radium illuminated hands. I think it was Radium as it was back in the 1970s. I have no idea what happened to it. I still have illuminated hand watches but they aren't radioactive. Remember Spiderman - bitten by a radioactive spider and therefore became a mutant.  That kind of theme went on all the time. And the film "Them" with the giant ants. One of my faves of the time. Like Planet of the Apes - one of my favourite franchises. Charlton Heston again - in the original anyway.
It sounds very problematic for both of your sisters. One sounds absolutely sane, managing OK and the other has lost the plot and is like a tornado of chaos. It could well be that she needs to be in some kind of supervised care. Maybe something else is wrong - perhaps medical or psychiatric.  I don't know the social system there. But it would be a shame if your older sister has to move into a care home just because of the other one messing up the system.  Maybe she can just say she's going in and younger one needs to go somewhere else. Like get a job and her own place. Then just say it all fell through once she's left to do whatever she's going to do.
I do know myself that I do not like disruption and uncertainty. I can imagine your older sis getting very wound up. Perhaps the younger one can go off somewhere else for a bit, just to give some respite and stability. Â
I've had a paperwork morning today. I don't know why all the paperwork arrives at once. I wonder if I wasn't on top of it now, at 64, what I'd do. I'd have to get help. I expect if I was 80, I just wouldn't bother with it. Like f**k off officialdom.  I can see people need help with things getting very complicated these days. Just paying a bill has become complicated.  It took me about 10 minutes to pay for car parking last week. We didn't have any cash and the machine doesn't take cards. I had to download the app, register and login and then make the payment. It was stupidly complicated for what it was. I suppose I'll get used to it but I plan on taking the bus/metro/tram more when I'm 65 as it'll be free and therefore hassle free but people tell me the public transport is horrible these days. It's a novelty to travel by bus or train for me.
Read today that Elon Musk wants to start up his own political party!
The fun never ends...
Paperwork, never was my cuppa.
IDK how my sisters worked in offices. It would drive me mad sitting behind a desk all day.
Our son made up a new e mail address, was very close to his old one; Did not inform me of the change and silly old me thought it was not a new account; Wrote him on his old account days ago. Just realized now that he made a change;
I asked him to warn us in the future, things go over our heads sometimes.
He also uses text letters in which I only know a few. Easy to get confused.
My brother is better now, all the home repairs are done and his car is being fixed up.
Meanwhile my lazy halfie has not sold her blood plasma for weeks; Her only source of income!
Too darn lazy to take the bus!
It is really too much. My eldest informed me that her church is offering free car repairs but you must book with them and set up a time; The older needs a time slot for her car so asked the halfie to book a time slot for herself; Asked a week ago, still has not made a call!
It is beyond lazy.
My husband said he would of pulled all her hair out by the roots by now!I feel the same way.How much can someone put up with before they snap?
Prayers do not seem to be helping, need a paddy wagon pick up to the funny farm!
Getting children to help around the house;It is a habit that should start early in life;
IDK why my half sister acts as she does because we had the same mother.
We had rules and jobs we had to do around the house without getting paid .
Help with everything and anything mom asked us to do without question. Dishes, walking the dog, watering the lawn, pulling weeds, taking down and folding laundry, carrying in shopping bags, cleaning potatoes; making our bed, dusting the house, sweeping floors,as we got older we had to wax the floors, endless list of jobs to do. No talking back or complaining either; In return we had a well functioning house, food, clean clothes on our backs and once in awhile a decent treat or shopping trip. I still have PTSD from the stress of making sure we dried the dishes properly or if not, having to redo them all.
As a teenager who wanted to spend the day with friends, I would get up super early on Sat; and Sundays, start a few loads of laundry for mom, sweep and dust, clean one bathroom at the far side of the house, and make them breakfast in bed after feeding the younger siblings and doing most of the dishes. I was always free to go and have my day with friends since I did more jobs then needed before anyone even got out of bed.
I wish I started my son with more duties growing up, one child is easy to spoil;
My beloved friend Kit, the women who had polio as a child and was in an iron lung for a year, raised her 2 boys to help out around the home;*I was a bit surprised when I went to their apt; later their house. She told the 8 year old to do his laundry and make sure his room was clean before he could go play outside; I thought she was joking about the laundry at first but no,she was serious. She later passed at age 45 from breast cancer so it was good that her boys were prepared to help out their father after she was gone.
My husbands HU nephew came to stay with us for 2 months in NM. We told his parents the timing was bad, that we were busy with a new machine shop and did not have the time or extra money to show him around;He insisted anyways but did pay for his own flight; Gave us a whopping $300. for his keep for 8 weeks; I would like a deal like that if anyone has an open house!!Too much!
I got so mad at him one day, we paid for him to go to the gym in the mornings with me; He was into working out and since he was a bored 18 year old I took him with me. He did his weights while I took my classes; I would stop every few days at the grocery store on our way home from the gym;
One day I had a trunk:boot full of bags, some were heavy. He just stood there like a dummy watching me lift and carry them into the house; Second load I made sure he knew he was expected to help carry them in, after all they were lighter then the gym weights;
Lazy people get on my last nerve.
I sound a bit mean I suppose?
When our nephew visited against our wishes we still treated him nicely.
Took him to dinners in Japanese restaurants in NM; Drove him to Las Vegas even though he was only 18 and could not gamble or hang out in the gaming room areas.
Took him to LA, Hollywood and many places in S. Ca;
He sort of acted as if it was expected from us too.
Our son had a HU GF, later his wife, later his ex wife , here in Hungary;
She and her mom were too much, wanted our son to get married for the green card.
He wanted to escape her clutches and left her mothers home; We were in the states so told him to go to his uncles house for a few days to a week while he waited to fly out of HU and get home.
He took the bus from Buda to Erd, he was about 22 years old at that time.
His GF drove her car behind the bus, every single stop the bus made, she jumped out of her car and screamed outside the bus for him to return to her! Banging on the bus windows too. He made it to his uncles house somehow without her finding him. Somehow she later did find him and talked him into returning to her moms house, huge mistake!!
He asked his uncle and his wife to stay with them, in broken Hungarian I suppose. They already knew what was going on with him since we told them before we left Hungary. He gave them a $100. bill for one night in their sewing room , not $300; for 2 months with us like their son offered; In the end the kid came back to HU with $500; New trainers , new outfits and a 2 month holiday with food and gifts . My husband had him help out a tiny bit in our machine shop and he was paid a good amount for nada. We always try hard to be fair and good to family but getting any return on it is never going to happen;Oh on top of it all that darn kid stole my husbands Montblanc writing pen!! What got us was he put a cheap ball point pen in the box as a replacement!
Well it looks like this week being a lake week is a bust.
Too bad for those who booked hotels or camping this week.
All good, rain is needed.
Have no idea what to do for my eldest sister; Things are getting even more out of control with the half sister.
She has not bothered to donate her plasma for 5Â days now; Her car needs a minor part and her phone bill is due.She already owes the elder sister over $500. and acts like it is normal to take without end.
She is too lazy to ride the bus or perhaps she thinks she is too good to ride the bus?
Defo not a self stater person!
On the bright side the elder lost her clients because they had to move into a full time care home;
Her company got her a new person to help out; An older women who just wants someone to visit her and take her places with her own car a few hours per week; She is taking my sister with her to her country club to swim! Now that is what I call a nice gig!
I hope they got on well and more wealthy elders want a part time keeper.

I find it hard to believe people sell their plasma for cash. I suppose it's one step up from literally selling your body. It's the last thing you can sell if you have nothing else left.  I've heard people make money selling pictures of their feet on Only Fans. Feet, yup, feet. I find that incredible but it's hardly a career move. I try not to judge.
My parents used to have "social visit" offers from the paid (private) carers. They offered to simply drop by for a chat but it was paid for.  Quite a few people in the sheltered housing took them up on the offers.  They used to come in and make lunch and chat away while doing that anyway. Really, it was a game changer. Even when I used to go there, I did not interfere with the routine at all. The carers really became their friends.  Some people they used to take them out for lunch.
But where it was really good was the emergency coverage. I was talking to my Dad on Skype and he went "wrong" and started mumbling rubbish and drifting in and out. I reckon he had a mini-stroke as I watched him. I even got Mrs F to look at him. In the end, I called the main carer organiser and she called the one on site and I saw them on camera.  My Dad kind of recovered but I discussed it with them and they said he didn't seem so bad. It was touch and go if we called an ambulance. Obviously in the UK, it's never a cost or insurance issue, just health care. In the end we decided it wasn't necessary as he passed the stroke tests (FAST - Face Drooping, Arms cannot raise above his head, Speech slurred - if so Time to call an ambulance).  Â
The carers could be called on for hospital appointments and collections. It was incredibly useful.  But then again, it was a business. In the end, while we all liked the carers, they were getting paid for their work.
Mrs F says the weather is terrible with rain and lower temperatures. Over here in the UK, it's too blinking warm for me. I have to have my car airco on full power.  It's like the entire weather system has got multiple personalities. Everyone is in shorts and t-shirts, it's really humid but it's raining and cloudy.  I hope it's all improved when I get back. We've got another week in Balaton at the end of July.
Read today that Elon Musk wants to start up his own political party!The fun never ends...Paperwork, never was my cuppa.IDK how my sisters worked in offices. It would drive me mad sitting behind a desk all day.Our son made up a new e mail address, was very close to his old one; Did not inform me of the change and silly old me thought it was not a new account; Wrote him on his old account days ago. Just realized now that he made a change;I asked him to warn us in the future, things go over our heads sometimes.He also uses text letters in which I only know a few. Easy to get confused.My brother is better now, all the home repairs are done and his car is being fixed up.Meanwhile my lazy halfie has not sold her blood plasma for weeks; Her only source of income!Too darn lazy to take the bus! @Marilyn Tassy
I was having a bit of a giggle today over Elon Musk.  His AI system said Adolf Hitler was the answer to white prejudice.Â
Honestly, that bloke stumbles from one crass Nazi or other crisis to another. It really nudged my schadenfreude and hilarity meter. He's got loads of money but seems to live in another universe. Some reports say he's stoned a lot. Don't know the truth of it.  You know, if you're in a hole, stop digging!
With all that cash, has he not realised he can get more brownie points doing something like finding a cure for malaria like Bill and Melinda Gates or other altruism like MacKenzie something - Bezos's ex-wife?
Glad you bro's car and living space is getting fixed. About time. Adjustments take time. Good advice would help with those physical things but the mental repairs will take longer. Maybe 2 years to overcome the basics. Still life is worth living, there's plenty to enjoy, even as an amputee. I remember the drummer from Def Leppard lost his arm in a car crash. He changed to playing adapted drums to great success.
Yes, we saw Def Leppard in Albuquerque.
They were allot of fun.
We had to move seats though, mid concert as we sat listening out of nowhere a huge, 200 plus lb; native American man popped over my husband seat from behind and landed on his lap!!!!!
Not making this up! Just crazy, obviously the guy was stoned out of his mind.
My husband played it cool, just put his hands up in the air so the guy would not think he was a threat.
We turned to look back and a tiny little native lady, say a 90 lb women , had punched the guy and he just fell over onto my husband.
We thought is best to move before things got crazier, if that was possible.
Yes the drummer really was something, did not miss a beat.
Miss those fun concerts sometimes, not interested at all in seeing most of the newer bands.
Well should not say that, I am no longer interested in seeing the Stones either. The Glamour twins really.
My brother is a strong guy, he has had a very exciting life; I think he misses being more active.
He was really over the top in some situations. I remember in Vegas at the Hard Rock, he picked me up on the casino floor with one arm and spun me around like a rag doll; His way of showing affection! I am a bit more reserved then he is, I laughed but still...
He was a bit boozy and the funniest part was when we were leaving;
You would think the Hard Rock has seen it all but the security guard decided to not see it all;
As we headed to the lift, my brothers pants slid down to his hips, he had heavy chains on the belt loop.
No underwear on!!! The security guard in his nice pressed suit looked then turned his head away fast like, I ain,t going there!

Def Leppard were a strange band. British but hardly known in the UK. They came into my life late so I only remember like one or two tracks on their most famous album. They were OK but nothing like the fame of Black Sabbath or Deep Purple.  Sabbath were one of the best bands around in my youth. Everyone wanted to be able to play Paranoid or Smoke on the Water. That latter track it's quite easy to do the main riff technically but can one do it in style?
I saw Ozzy had a farewell concert in Birmingham (UK) last week. If I'd know it was going on, I might have gone to it and that's rare for me to go to anything like that. So many super bands involved and great artists and by all accounts, a massive success with all profits going to charity. I saw video and it looked right up my street.  I don't know why I didn't know about it!
Lon will find other things to do. People have far worse injuries and really succeed. This is perhaps an opportunity to do more and embrace life rather than a threat and become depressed.
Incidentally, my bro's car was damaged by a 200 lb+ woman. She fell over due to uneven surfaces next to his parked car and impacted the door and absolutely smashed it right in. He had a flashy convertible sports car and the damage was considerable. The woman was also quite badly injured I believe. It was quite complicated - the woman fell due to negligence of the local government, his insurance wanted the woman to pay and ultimately the local government were liable. I know that sports car was a magnet for trouble. People falling on it, drug addicts trying to steal bits off it and generally having bad intentions to it.  I drove it around for a while and it was a real head turner. But not everyone was admiring it for its technological wonder.
BTW, I am really enjoying Elon Musk at the moment.Â
I reckon if he puts up $250M+, he'll at least split the Republican party and possibly destroy Trump and his cult. Musk's got the cash to be totally vindictive and the budget to bring Trump down. It's an interesting situation - Musk has really no limits or controls on his thinking. Almost like power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. In his case, money corrupts and whopping amounts of money corrupts an awful lot.
I was really laughing how Trump managed to con Musk over crypto currency - essentially Trump got Musk to bankroll him, got in, then leveraged his position to con people out of money and enrich himself. Now he doesn't need Musk and Musk is out $100M and didn't get much out of it except bad press. Hilarious.
It's going to be a movie! I guarantee! We've had a Nixon and Elvis movie but arguably they were actually talented in their own way. Don't think Musk can sing.
Kind of strange they are in some ways different versions of the same person - Trump, the grifter billionaire with a habit of massive narcissistic personality disorder and cultish Truth Social media outlet and Musk, a tech bro with a different kind of habit and a social media sewer known as X.
Well, it'll come out in the wash who will win and over a long time. I reckon Musk purely on age and staying power even if Trump is grifter in chief.  I'd like to see Trump doing 25 years for graft. Musk should be doing at least 5 years but being a fool and being conned isn't actually a criminal offence. I should contact him as I do have a perpetual motion time machine to sell.
Also, I just read Trump is going to Scotland to play golf in the coming days. I wonder how welcome he will be. Apparently not very welcome at all from what I've read. It's a private visit supposedly. He won't meet the King this time.  Protestors really descend on his places and quite rightly. Scottish government rolled over and let the guy build a golf course over a much loved ancient nature area next to the sea. Unsurprisingly, people really are upset about that.
Sabbath played in the old venue, in the city park years ago, minus Ozzy;
We brought lawn chairs and sat outside on the grass with many othr people. Broguht some beers and umbrellas, it was raining but not too hard; People playing with the dogs on the lawn, others just laying on the grass, was nice.
Now the arena is torn down.
I remember in HS, all the boys loved Ozzy but we girls not so much.
Had a male friend , one of our little group of weirdos who was insane over The Who.
We would argue who was better, Stones or Who.
Nice kid, Italian guy who had a GF we never met; she was going to an all girls Catholic school.
He was just one of our buddies,nothing romantic with any of us.
I was just looking online at old LPÂ prices for resale.
Hard to know some I have say they are worth hundreds of bucks each and other sites are under $20.
Have a record player in the US, might have to listen to them to see what condition they are in before trying to boost them.
One I really do not want to sale, Get your Ya ya,s out. My BFF Lisa gave it to me as a gift. Not bad for a live LP but it is more emotional then the quality of the songs are.
It is about time to think about clearing things;
Once we kick it, no one is interested in our old junk.
I could of bought everything new ten times over for all the money wasted on storage rent;
200 lb women vs sports car.
In Belize we took a day trip via an open wooden boat with a small motor on the back; No life jackets available. IDK but in the mid 90s Belize was not too tourist friendly, they did not have any rental cars available to rent either.
Well the boat held I,d say a dozen normal sized people.
We were paid up ready to leave Belize city when last min a huge , had to be at least a 400 pounder women got on;She actually fell into the boat! It went side to side and we all were afraid and we had not left port yet;
She took the entire row of bench seats herself towards on end of the flimsy boat.
I was ready to swim at any moment, not sure how long the ride was, 45 mins. White knuckled it all the way.
There were several times when extra large women got in our way.
As we headed to our booked room in San Ignacio a few days later we had to ride a hot dusty old US yellow school bus to get there;
We asked everywhere about a rental car but there were none;
Only thing to do was buy a beat up broke down old American car for $500; and call it even.
No thanks;
We boarded the bus, seats were made for school children so for adults 2 per row was comfy.
Last min; once again, a huge 400 pounder women got on and saw us 2 skinny minnies and sat her butt on the little bit of seat available on the end of the row;
Not going to happen;. My husband was a real gent and gave his seat to her and he stood on the ride for about 3 long hot sweaty hours. I was not very comfy next to her either, she took most of the seat with her big bottom;
Seems these extra large people show up last min just to make everyone life harder.
I never saw so many fatties as there on Belize, rice and beans I suppose.
When the bus finally arrived in San Ignacio we took off our suitcases, we got looks for having suitcases instead of back packs.
The hotel we were told at the drop off was about a half mile uphill.
We asked about a taxi, no sooner said that when a guy showed up;
He had no shirt on, a wet towel on his head and a plastic cup full of rum; He had just came out of a bar!
He told us we could walk uphill with our bags or for a fee he would drive us.
Desperation time.
We got in and put our suitcases in the back of a station wagon, it had old dirty boards loaded in the back but our case fit too.
He started up the wagon with a screwdriver!!! Stolen car?? Half way up the hill he stopped to give a friend of his a ride, well it was not really ride sharing since we footed the bill;
Sometimes you need a vacation from your vacation.

That's quite an adventure. Up a river with a paddle and some natives. Others are not so fortunate to make it there and back. I guess if the hill guy had a car, he must have had some entrepreneurial flair. Â
We had a bit of a similar experience. I got in a taxi in Africa (Ethiopia) with a guy I was working with. It was a French car - an old Peugeot station wagon. We hired it at an airport. It was falling to bits with a lot of rust. I am sure when we got in the back seat, it actually started bowing as all the body/chassis was rusted away. There was no support except the super thin metal of the body parts. No idea what would happen if someone got in with a few goats. But despite the looks,  it did make it into town and we were OK once we got the hotel.Â
We were expecting our own driver and a modern car, but the guy couldn't or didn't meet us for pickup. I seem to remember half the folks there were stoned on Khat. All very friendly but mostly incoherent and half asleep.Â
BTW, I sat next to a giant guy on the plane and we played elbow tussle with the armrest. Really, when checking in online, maybe they should ask for your measurements. At some airports and some flights, they do weigh passengers. But perhaps a step further and measure their dimensions too!
Sorry for the elbow wrestling match on your flight.
People are nuts!
Had to actually ask a guy on one flight to move his under the chair stuff, it had been put under my husbands seat! WTH??
Only time I ever enjoyed other passengers company was when you were allowed to bring a bottle of booze onboard! We opened up some Jack Daniels and shared with the young man next to us.
Another flight I enjoyed holding a little baby girl about 2 years old for a few hours.
The parents and her baby brother were flying from Vegas to Ethiopia. Same flight to FL; where we parted ways, we off to Belize.
The 2 children were sweet, I rarely say children are sweet but these 2 were so well behaved and quiet.
The baby was suffering from air sickness and the parents were carrying the children on their laps; Mom looked overwhelmed so I asked if I could help.
When I flew alone from Hawaii to Ca with my year old son, people helped me. One lady walked him for a bit , the air pressure sometimes hurts their ears.
I actually did not want to give the girl up, I sort of fell in love with her, just so cute and tiny.
Mostly I try to not even chat with strangers on a flight these days; So many nutters on U tube going cra, cra on flights.
People are usually a bit stressed flying so best to mind my own beez wax.
