America left the WHO in 2020. However, this decision was reversed by President Joe Biden on his first day in office in January 2021.
Formal Decision (January 20, 2025): On his first day in office, President Donald Trump signed Executive Order 14155, titled "Withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization". This action officially notified the United Nations of the U.S. intent to leave, triggering the required one-year notice period. - @SimCityAT

It's a bit pointless for you to post anything about America leaving the WHO because we knew a year ago.

It will go back the other way when Trump has gone. Meanwhile lots of people will die. Not that Donny cares*.
Trump doesn't believe in the UN but there's no accounting right now for his mental pathology.
I personally like the UN but I would not rank it high in the opportunities stakes. Other agencies are easier.
Having been in contact with them and their workers, it's intensely bureaucratic but all of those organisations are.
And so what!!!
*As a matter of interest I'm watching The Pitt and one of the patients has a brain tumour which has it seems - modified his behaviour - made him aggressive and angry. My own brother died of a brain tumour. My bro varied between very very angry and calm. Towards the end, super calm. It changes a person. A lot. It does open an ethical questions about if a person has a brain illness (like dementia or Alzheimer's), are they responsible for their actions?
There's also an episode of Star Trek: Discovery where the Doctor corrects an imbalance in someone's brain. And the specific person is a serial murderer. The ethical question arises - was that person responsible for their actions when suffering from a disease?
I think about this as regards Donny. If he is truly unwell with a brain issue, he needs to be replaced asap. It's not looking good right now. I've seen some postings in forums on Reddit where doctors (or those purporting to be doctors) think he's not got more than a year. They reference frailty in Queen Elizabeth. Not quite there with Donny yet. Two years tops with the best care (for which he's grifted the money). But by the end of the year, if anyone is right about it, he could be completely bonkers. Just guessing.
If he resigns the Presidency due to failing health, is he going to stand trial? Maybe not, maybe the cultists will keep him in situ while whispering in his ear and giving him instructions. Dying in saddle will work for him.
BBC News:
Sir Mark Tully, the BBC's 'voice of India', dies aged 90
The broadcaster and journalist Sir Mark Tully - for many years known as the BBC's "voice of India" - has died at the age of 90.
For decades, the rich, warm tones of Sir Mark were familiar to BBC audiences in Britain and around the world - a much-admired foreign correspondent and respected reporter and commentator on India. He covered war, famine, riots and assassinations, the Bhopal gas tragedy and the Indian army's storming of the Sikh Golden Temple.
I loved listening to Sir Mark Tully in my youth. He was a fantastic broadcaster and a great journalist reporting from India and surrounding countries. He'll be missed.
It's looking more and more like the US is going to try to blockade Iran, and very probably attack in some form.
China buys a lot of its oil from Iran so the fate of the latter is of great importance.
The loss of Venezuelan oil wasn't a big deal as supplies were easily replaced, but this is very different.
A few points:
- The US and UK removed Iran's democracy
- The US put a dictatorship in place
- The Shah was removed after a popular revolution that put conservative Islamic groups at the helm
- Israel and the US have been claiming Iran is a few months from completing a nuclear warhead for more than 20 years.
- Iran has no military forces capable of attacking the US.

One of the weirdest things coming out of the USA I heard was that Trump is claiming he (or the USA) now owns all the Venezuelan oil. Not sure that'll fly.
If Venezuela pumps more the oil price will go down. In about 10 years when they've rebuilt.
If Iran's oil is pumped now, it'll push the global price down. That will hurt Putin a bit. Iran has the capacity.
But I doubt China, India etc will complain too much as it'll just get it cheaper via a pipeline and they'll buy all Putin can sell/produce.
They are probably building massive storage capacity to weather these storms. Perhaps 5 years of supply. Not heard anything about it but I'll wager it's there if one looks.
UK and EU countries should be stockpiling it too. Minimum 5 years to cope with disruption when WW3 in Europe starts.

Germany is facing calls to withdraw its billions of euros’ worth of gold from US vaults, spurred on by the shift in transatlantic relations and the unpredictability of Donald Trump.
Germany holds the world’s second biggest national gold reserves after the US, of which approximately €164bn (£142bn) worth – 1,236 tonnes – is stored in New York.
Some EU countries are openly treating the US as a danger rather than an ally.
This is nt looking good for the US as their economy, already a mess full of debt, is shaken further.

They could move their gold to London for safe keeping.
I looked at the Gold price this morning and is really on a high. It's now over 5000 USD an ounce. Silver is on a run too.
People will be getting out of bonds which have always been a safe haven when markets are down. Debt management is an art as much as a science.
Selling US debt to the Chinese (or threatening to) will cause Mr Trump a considerable meltdown. I am not sure China will bother gaining US bonds as they probably think the US will implode on its own.
It's the forthcoming tariffs decision by SCOTUS is likely to be a real bombshell. All the appeals courts have ruled against them. Who knows what logic the Trump favouring SCOTUS will say? Absolutists should say no way, taxes are in Congress's mandate, not Trump's.
Meanwhile I noted that ICE expansion might not be funded if their budget is not passed. It looks like just enough Republicans may vote against it.
Gold and silver, should of listened to our son when he said buy those years ago.
Problem is, where to store them and can one trust a safety deposit box.
What about when you travel, can not fly with gold in your pockets.
Had gold coins years ago, sold them for a down payment on our house.
$5,000 an oz is a bit rich.
Silver was heading towards $100. an oz last time I checked.
Perhaps one day we will be melting down our gold and silver to buy bread?
The dollar exchange rate is not good right now against the forint.
No worries but good to keep an eye on it. No big purchases for now.
It is strange , as long as everyone has their health I really do not care much about money.
Finally at peace, realize we missed the gravy train long ago and grateful for what we do have.
Trump is allot of talk so far I do not see much good from anything he has done as of date.
I feel the entire system is going to crash sooner or later.
All paper funds will be worthless, like the Pengo in 1948.

The US Dollar is weak now but it still seems quite strong compared to the Pengo, sorry I mean Forint. I expect within 2 years we'll be in the Euro IF Orban is thrown out. That should bring down costs. And it would mean no more messing around.
Gold of course is uber portable. As is silver. But you need a lot of it and it's heavy. Gold was 5400 USD an ounce at one point. At that price, it makes it economic to actually mine it. Interestingly, only a tad over 200,000 tonnes has ever been mined - enough to fill 4 Olympic sized swimming pools. Doesn't sound like that much. And estimates by USGS is there's another touch over 64,000 tonnes to mine. So a finite resource. They can now make diamonds which are close to or exactly the same as the natural version - saw it on a TV show. How long before artificial gold is on the menu? Alchemy of course. But quite probably possible now with our technology.
Of course, in days of old, people kept gold as emergency money as it's easily transportable. Even Pirates did it. They carried enough for a funeral in their earrings and jewellery. In their line of work, it was insurance.
Trump is pushing crypto. No thank you Donny. Find other suckers who like your schtick.
As I predicted, the Russians are providing military escorts for their oil tankers in order to stop pirates from boarding them and stealing their cargos.

That's exactly what I just said, no Gaza noted on either site.
I cannot see Israel mentioning it. I am sure some individuals will but not collectively. Or Trump. Trump has to always remember the Jewish lobby is powerful in the US so that's about him (again).

I was being a bit sarcastic. We've all seen what they've done with American approval.
Anyway, let's see who acknowledges it. Trump might say something.
But I doubt Putin will be attending any events or noting it. Gulag anyone? Or death sentence in Ukraine?
Zelenskyy is bound to say something.
CBS: Jeffries says House Democrats will move to impeach Noem if Trump doesn't fire her
How long will Noem keep her job? I reckon a couple of weeks, maximum, before she resigns. My crystal ball guess is Homan will replace her.
I doubt it'll reach impeachment for Noem. She'll jump before being pushed. There's not enough of a majority unless enough Republicans vote with the Democrats. She deserves to be impeached. And so do others in ICE.
AG of Minnesota said even Federal agents can be charged with murder under state law. They are not immune from prosecution just because they are Feds. If the State does charge the agents, this will show, Trump does not in fact, have their backs. He may throw them under the bus to save Noem. We'll see.
There were two local (state) elections in Minnesota in the past days. Both of them were expected to be Democrat wins. However their House of Reps is evenly split and the Senate marginally Democrat. Perhaps something of a pre-cursor to mid-terms?
An odd one now is that ICE will be at the Winter Olympics in Italy. I cannot see that being acceptable. The entire thing is tainted. Vance is due at the opening ceremony but it seems like it's best he should stay at home.
An odd one now is that ICE will be at the Winter Olympics in Italy - @fluffy2560
Winter sports are better with ice. The skating will be ruined without it.

Having been to skating at the weekend, I am reminded that it's important that ice is dressed properly so one can identify conditions better. Otherwise no way to comfortably skate and one risks injury.
For skiing, white powder is the most interesting. There are plenty of rumours of white powder fans at the White House.
p.s. latest report I heard on the radio is Stephen Miller might be in the frame for ousting as well as Noem. Noem said she was working on Trump's orders. And Miller, we all know about him and his views. He is of course, not an elected or Congress confirmed official.

What could happen if the US strikes Iran? Here are seven scenarios
The US appears poised to strike Iran within days. While the potential targets are largely predictable, the outcome is not. So, if no last-minute deal can be reached with Tehran and President Donald Trump decides to order US forces to attack, then what are the possible outcomes?
Trump is on a roll after Venezuela and he thinks Iran will be an equal pushover. There's a good chance Americans will die in any confrontation which is unlikely to sit well with his base. Iran is a very different kettle of fish to Venezuela.

Airports, officials in Asia alert for deadly Nipah virus
Two cases of the Nipah virus were confirmed in India's West Bengal state in December, prompting authorities across South and Southeast Asia to step up precautionary measures, including airport screenings. Nipah virus can cause fever and brain inflammation and, though not highly contagious, carries a high fatality rate, says Kaja Abbas, an associate professor of infectious disease epidemiology.
Worth considering the (stated "low") risks if going out that way. Don't get cosy with fruit bats or wild pigs.

Hungarian prosecutors charge Budapest mayor over role in banned LGBTQ+ march
Hungarian prosecutors have filed charges against the mayor of Budapest, Gergely Karácsony, for his role in organizing the city’s 30th annual LGBTQ+ Pride event despite a controversial ban, the mayor’s office said Wednesday.
“The prosecution has filed charges and wants to impose a financial penalty on me without a court hearing, simply because we held the largest freedom march of the past decades,” Karácsony said in a statement.
The timing of this is obviously related to the forthcoming election on 12 April 2026 and an attempt to discredit anyone non-Fidesz. If Karácsony faces any sanctions, there will be more protests on the street. He's extremely popular in Budapest.
The next Pride march is on June 27, 2026 and it will undoubtedly be yet another march for freedom once more. But of course, if Orban is out come April 13, then all charges will be immediately dropped as they are clearly politically motivated.

Two points:
The law, regardless of how much you like it, is the law. The way to change a law is through an election.
The march is very clearly political, not about a change in sex laws. If they are willing to break laws, so are they likely to be a trustworthy government?

BRUSSELS — An identity tool that underpins the digital lives of Dutch people and has partly fallen into American hands is prompting the country to reconsider its reliance on U.S. technology.
In the Netherlands, almost every citizen regularly uses the online identification tool DigiD to book a doctor’s appointment, buy a house or access online public services.
With a Dutch supplier of the tool in the process of being acquired by a U.S. technology company, that’s prompting concerns that the Netherlands is giving away critical technology at a moment of heightened sensitivity around the country’s wholesale use of American services.
They know the US is a danerous nation, and they know that country's regime is hostile.

Well, d'uh. Of course it's political.
The march is now a proxy for anti-government group protest.
And of course for all time, civil disobedience is the backbone of protests against unjust regimes.
Karácsony is a popular guy and Budapest like all cities hereabouts is not the countryside. People are not bought off with a sack of potatoes.
We will have an election soon and we will see which way it goes.
Note extracted from The Economist:
Eurasia Group, a consultancy, thinks Tisza needs to beat Fidesz by four to five percentage points to win a majority in parliament. At the moment that looks like a good bet. Mr Orban is trying to tar Mr Magyar as a puppet of the EU. For his part, the Tisza leader appears to be avoiding any association with international liberals. Before visiting Hungary this correspondent had scheduled interviews with several Tisza candidates. On arrival in Budapest, all were abruptly cancelled.
Not everyone wants Tisza to win but it's a case of breaking Fidesz and Orban's grip once and for all. Return to democracy will have started if Orban is finally out.

That's not really big news. And the Dutch can stop it on national security grounds.
Meanwhile, there's a push on providers like Amazon and MS to move their cloud service provision out of the US or other regions to Europe and to ring fence them. Understandable. It's the same in Asia. No-one wants their critical data in Chinese controlled territory (including Hong Kong and Macau). National policy should be not to do that. Alternatives are Japan and Australia but sufficient network capacity (undersea cables), not to mention jurisdiction is a key concern.
The real one to watch is NL based ASML.
From Wikipedia:
In January 2024, the Dutch government placed further restrictions on the shipment of some advanced chip-making equipment to China.[54] On 6 September 2024, the Dutch government tightened export controls on certain ASML chipmaking equipment, aligning its policy with U.S. restrictions to limit China's access to advanced technology amid safety and geopolitical concerns.[55][56] These restrictions were expanded for tighter export controls in January 2025, with ASML required to apply for export licenses with the Dutch government instead of the U.S. In December 2025, Reuters reported that China had secretly built a prototype EUV machine in Shenzhen with the assistance of former ASML engineers, with the machine expected to produce working chips between 2028 and 2030
Kind of reminds me of attempts to control coffee plants and breadfruit way back. Eventually, it's going to leak out.
Former CNN presenter arrested - after covering anti-ICE protest

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was arrested by federal authorities in Los Angeles last night, his lawyer says.
It comes after the Justice Department promised to pursue charges against the journalist after he covered a protest in a church in Minnesota last week.
The service was protested because its pastor allegedly works for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Three people who also took part in the protest were detained on the day.
'Attack on First Amendment'
Lemon has maintained he was observing the protest as a journalist conducting reporting.
Lemon's attorney, Abbe Lowell, says his client will "fight these charges vigorously and thoroughly in court".
"Don has been a journalist for 30 years, and his constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done," Lowell said.
"Instead of investigating the federal agents who killed two peaceful Minnesota protesters, the Trump Justice Department is devoting its time, attention and resources to this arrest, and that is the real indictment of wrongdoing in this case.
"This unprecedented attack on the First Amendment and transparent attempt to distract attention from the many crises facing this administration will not stand."
Control of the media of communication and information means the control of the mind, and for the Communists this would mean a victory of far greater importance than victory on a dozen battlefields of war.
One quote of many on the same theme, but so many forget an important detail that those in control are well aware of.
Far too many people are as dumb as bricks so they tend to believe whatever they read, especially if the same trash is repeated often enough.
We see this very clearly with (wonderful) Trump where people actually believe he's some sort of puritan genius with a passion for his country. They want to believe it so, regardless of the evidence in front of them, the stupid will support him to the end - even as their world crumbles around them.
Critical thinking is the key. Sadly, few bother.
Overt Act# 18: While inside the Church, defendant CREWS personallyparticipated in the disruptive takeover operation with other defendants bystanding in and around the main aisle with the others and contributing to the physical obstruction and intimidation of the congregants and participating insome of the chants.
https://www.ms.now/news/read-full-text- … ctment-pdf
The first part about 'standing around' is a bit weak because that's what journalists do. They stand around recording and commenting.
As for the chanting, if it isn't a lie, that would make them bad journalists.
US law is not something I know much about, but the indictment looks a bit contrived.
@Fred- @SimCityAT
And there goes a fine example of what I mentioned.
Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.
Mindless memes were not around at the time of the quote, so we will have to decide the likely intellectual level of the poster after due consideration.
I saw a video of Don Lemon just getting in the faces of those church goers.
He was rude and had no business bothering anyone inside a church setting.
Never liked him much anyways, he always came off as a jerk of sorts and very arrogant .
Never viewed him as a serious reporter.
I doubt they would be bothering any group in worship except some mid western Christians.
Try that out in the Bible Belt and see what happens.
My gosh, at a gym full of ladies warming up for aerobics in a New Mexican health club, no one dared to stop the instructor when she started out with Praising God for our gathering and workout time!
People looked at me like, yes this is normal here in NM and we are used to her pre workout service.
Would not dare stop anyone inside a NM or Texas church, they are locked and loaded.
In fact in Hilo our instructor also had a 5 am pre workout service of sorts for the class, she was from New Mexico.

To be clear - I dislike his politics, his style, and his everything else.
That said, he knew of the plan, and he went to the church, but the right wing rubbish I've watched can't show him doing anything reporters (even cheap hacks like him) don't do every day.
They can't show him shouting, pushing, or being in any way physically part of the protest.
Another note - I think the protesters are bloody idiots.
