About
Hi, I'm Cheryl!
I have been part of the Expat.com team since 2018, working as a moderator. Over the years, I have gained a solid understanding of what it really means to move abroad, from the legal procedures to the day-to-day realities of life in a new country. Thanks to countless conversations with our members around the world. I have developed a strong knowledge base when it comes to expatriation, and I truly enjoy sharing what I have learned to help others on their journey.
Curious by nature, I quickly found my place in this exciting world. I love being able to support people as they navigate the process of relocating, and I am always happy to point them to the right resources or simply offer a listening ear.
Outside of that, I am a huge foodie! (Covid definitely woke up the inner chef in me) You will often see me joining conversations about food, whether it is giving restaurant tips (around Mauritius), chatting about where to buy certain ingredients, or just sharing favorite dishes. But what I really love is exploring the diversity of food cultures across the globe.
Languages are another passion of mine. Being bilingual, I moderate both the English and French forums, which allows me to connect with a wide range of members from all over the world. I find that incredibly rewarding, both culturally and personally.
If you ever need help, whether it is posting a classified advert, figuring out how the forum works, or getting in touch with the team, do not hesitate to send me a message. I am here to assist you and make sure your experience on Expat.com is smooth, helpful, and positive.
Above all, kindness and respect are at the heart of everything I do.
