Jobs in offshore sector

Hi

Just got back to Mauritius after 4 years in the UK and currently looking for a job in the offshore/fund accounting sector but have not really seen any adverts in newspapers/recruitment agencies for last 2 months although the HRDC (Human Resource Development Council) recently published a paper saying that 3,000 professionals are needed in the financial services sector.

Has the economy gone so bad that there is no recruitment happening?

Any advice will be much appreciated.
