"What to look for on: TV, Online, Radio, & Cinema"
I did watch yesterday the few episodes which are aired from the TV series Marshall's.
Well as action series it is acceptable more or less. But it was grave mistake to put into two girls as "commando" who by their performance failed to ever attend even at an airsoft game. In the US it is not that hard to find girls who actually ok with guns.
The recurring actors from the Yellowstone series deliver their performance at least.
But it seems like screenwriters changed much, so the series mood is different than Yellowstone, more like a failed attempt to reproduce something other than the setting/ ascetics. - @sjbabilon5
It's a Taylor Sheridan effort just like Yellowstone was. There was some intrigue such as the Dead Zone in Wyoming. That was interesting - shows that Kayce will cut corners like his Dad. He's out for himself, and has an agenda with the Chairman. Blood is thicker than water. He's not blindly loyal to the Marshals.
I haven't tried Madison yet. Looks a bit too much like romantic drama to me without enough action..
There's supposed to be a follow on show from Yellowstone called Ranch 6666 or something. Spin off. Not seen or heard about it recently.
Yellowstone ended because they couldn't agree terms with Kevin Costner for a follow on season.
@fluffy2560
Well Yellowstone ended all right, not rushed.
Ranch 6666: did not heard about that plan.
There are 1883, and 1923 series as existing spin offs, actually past history. In mood closer than Marshalls, even as obviously cannot share cast.
The curse of spin offs that it is very rare when any can stand up in quality, mood for the original.
Among the few exception: Spartacus - Blood and sand
Also more like pre-history/ prequel.
Lead actor died (who play Spartacus), so they made a prequel instead to continue the series at first.
Later did continue the series with a different actor at main role and result was good.
The recent spin off not even worth to test out for a single episode: House of Ashur. They just ruined another "brand".

You mean House of Usher. I started it and didn't finish. Got bored.
You mean Kirk Douglas (Spartacus). He was like 90+ when he died. It's a great film and he was a great actor but of a different age.
If you remember or saw all of Yellowstone, you'll remember the guy with the smashed up hips/legs with the improbably attractive GF who was sent to a West Texas ranch to learn to be a cowboy based on his rehabilitation.
That was supposed to be a spin off - forgot the name Ranch 6666 or Four-Sixes or something or other. There's a reference to the backdoor pilot. It's also connected to Landman.
The character at the centre of it was Jimmy Hurdstrom.
The Yellowstone 1944 proposed series might be a substitute for 6666.

@fluffy2560
Sorry messed up - meant: Gods of the Arena as prequel.
No - Andy Whitfield who replaced by Liam McIntyre for the final two seasons.
I know the ranch/ lore.
The new info was the planned spin off there.

Never heard of Gods of the Arena It seems it only ran for 1 season.
In Yellowstone: Marshals, they allude to some of the other characters like looney Beth and tough guy husband Rip still being around which of course opens ground for guest appearances.

There's another movie along the same lines - CODA (Child of Deaf Adults).
I think it won or was nominated for multiple awards.
I meant to see CODA but never got around to it.
In my later years, and their twilight years, my parents both became profoundly deaf so it was of interest.
I did think about learning sign language but never did. One of my kids attended sign language lessons at school - it was an elective and they did a number of weeks course.
I never really understood why sign language was not more universal. It seems there are competing versions - British Sign Language, American Sign Language. Good question for James O'Briens mystery hour on LBC radio.

I'm mid-season 2. Season 8 is the final season.
It's a kind of slow paced soft porn kind of show. I am really surprised it's running to 8 seasons. Like a massively long soap opera. I reckon it could have been distilled down to a mini-series of 6 episodes.
I suppose the actors are mega-grateful to have had a job that lasts that long.
If you have a VPN its well worth using it to go through YouTube lots of films on there that are not available in the country you are in, of course, the USA has heaps of films in English.

Not bad but a bit pedestrian. The 1970s look and music is kind of interesting - been there, done that. Useful if you want to up your Italian mafia vocabulary.

I haven’t seen Irena’s Vow yet, but Come and See is one of those films that stays with you for a long time. I wouldn’t even call it enjoyable exactly, but it’s incredibly powerful and probably one of the most devastating anti-war films I’ve ever watched.
As for Civil War, I went into it a bit unsure because of the mixed reactions, but I still think it’s worth watching on the big screen if you get the chance. Even when people disagree about a film, sometimes the atmosphere alone makes it worth seeing in the cinema.
I’m still undecided on Atlas. Sometimes those sci-fi films look amazing in the trailer and then don’t fully deliver, but I may still give it a try.
Lately I’ve also been in that mood where I switch between heavy films and much lighter things, so after watching something intense I almost need a reset. Funny enough, Eurovision usually does that for me. Completely different vibe, of course, but it has that same feeling of sitting down to watch something people will end up talking about afterwards, whether they loved it or not.
Interesting thread though. I always end up adding more titles to my list when people start sharing what they’ve watched recently.
Update:
I'm now on season 5 of Outlander via Netflix. They are dripping out Season 8 - the final season.
It's really a romance setting of time travel and Scottish rebellion. Good action, horses, scenery and characterisation. All the lead characters are quite charming. Entire thing was filmed in Scotland with some settings for North Carolina.
I like it though and sometimes I do 3 episodes at a sitting if I have time. I look up the historical medical stuff they talk about and they are not always 100% correct. I was quite amused by the tonsillectomy they did. Our daughter had one recently age 20 and I asked her to watch it to see how it was done back then but she said she couldn't face it. Shame!
There's been a few continuity errors in Season 5 - house has no tiles, then it has tiles, then it has no tiles again. That kind of thing.

Looks similar to The Handmaid's Tale or The Testaments follow on.
This is a movie almost without a plot. It's like a series of scenes cobbled together describing the hapless lead character. The supporting cast is good. But more could have been done with them. Lots of things happen but not really that much. The interesting thing I noted on this movie - from reading the Wikipedia notes - the cat was introduced to be the plot. It's hard to believe this movie is considered one of the world's best movies - No. 11 in all time ranking. Seems way too much over rating. It took me almost 13 years to get around to seeing this film.

Before Inside Llewyn Davis, the Coen brothers produced this non-masterpiece - A Serious Man.
What's it about? I dunno really but it gives some serious insight into Jewish culture in 1960s America. There's a lot of Yiddish, odd little scenes and clearly life is very different in the Jewish communities than elsewhere. I'm not Jewish so maybe there's a joke I don't get. The acting is OK but what it's all about, no idea.

Blast from the past:
1989: Teenage Life in Hungary | Scene | BBC Archive
Nice bit of nostalgia - sort of!
Features József Szájer who shows quite a good knowledge of English. He was an MEP until his resignation. Not sure what has happened to him since.
Movie available for download now at an Internet near you:
It's really long - 2h 36m. Might have to watch it in two sessions. It has a very high rating on Rotten Tomatoes and excellent box office receipts.

@fluffy2560
Saw it. It "rocks"😁
As I previously surmised, Beth and Rip return in a Yellowstone spin off called "Dutton Ranch".
Given the weirdo explosive character of Beth and the psycho character of Rip, there will be murder, mayhem and superfluous obsessional intimate relations down on the farm and perhaps in the stables amongst the horses and hay.
Airs May 15, 2026 and soon after on an Internet near you.

Spider-Noir - alternate universe Spider Man staying Nicholas Cage. I've seen the trailers and Cage looks more like Dracula than a super spidey PI. I'm willing to give it a go. Cage has fallen from great heights but maybe this is a comeback role.
Two versions are being released - one in colour and one in monochrome. Bit of a atmospheric gimmick. Take your pick.
Airs 27 May 2026 on the usual sources.

Clarkson's Farm returns for Season 5, dripped out from June 3, 2026 (4 episodes, then two episode batches).
Other sources say release on May 23, 2026.
It's a great series. I don't really like Clarkson's views but the show is good.
After Season 5, the show will be on hiatus for a couple of years at least.

The Terror Season 3, drops May 7.
I've seen Season 1 and 2 and it was good show.
Season 1 was the best, Season 2 was OK but I am hopeful for Season 3.

Star City - arrives 29 May. Russian space adventure from an alternate timeline.
It's a spin-off from hit US TV show For All Mankind. Made in Latvia mostly with a distinguished (British) cast.

The Night Agent cancelled by Netflix but not before season 4’s ‘proper and thrilling conclusion’ - @SimCityAT
They always cancel stuff when it gets good. They also have movies which just stop dead during the plot. And no sequel. Very annoying.
The only one on Netflix which seems to have had endless seasons is Outlander - that ran for 8 seasons (and still not quite finished). I'm midway on Season 7. They must have had a huge budget because there's a cast of hundreds for the American revolution scenes. All filmed in Scotland. Worth watching to brush up your Gaelic.
I suspect that if it's adaption from books or whatever, the original writers will now insist on full treatment which many seasons. I believe Lord of the Rings TV series will have a minimum of 5 seasons. Some other potentially legendary and epic series have been cancelled just a few seasons - Wheel of Time for example. There were 14 books in the series and I doubt they got through 5 of them.
Sasquatch Sunset - this looks like an odd one but willing to give it a go.
In the wilderness of Northern California live four nomadic Sasquatch—the brutish alpha male, his female mate, her male child, and another adult male. They spend their days exploring, foraging, and performing rituals where they drum with branches in hopes of getting a response from other Sasquatch.
