Ooo....super! I looked already and it all looks good! Great tip!
Going to watch this movie Confidence (from 2003).
Bunch grifters target someone while menacing each other and screwing each over (no, it's not about the US government officials).
Great cast. I saw this movie and it was OK but a bit predictable.

So I just watched it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The female lead, Rainey Qualley, also goes by the name Rainsford as a musician. Wrote the songs and performed them in the film; she is also the daughter of Andie MacDowell.
I highly recommend it, although not a true story, but I can certainly believe there is some truth behind it.
Watched this last night on Netflix. Wasn't bad but wasn't brilliant. Quite a good cast with well known names. I really like Viking mythology and feel connected to it. Hence my interest. There are plenty of great Viking stories around but this wasn't the best representation of the genre. Good scenery. Apparently filmed in NI, the UK and Iceland.

Robin Hood.
Guess that is where the name hood came from AKA gangster?
We used to watch the tv series in the 1950s with Richard Greene.
My sisters were so into it that they got targets, bows and arrows and used to shoot in our back yard.
The eldest has one and shot her own deer, skinned it too!
Handy skill to have.

Yes, could be but of course Robin Hood was a nom de guerre. Maybe he didn't even exist. But it's such a well loved tale another version is good to have. Ideal for pantomime, The kids liked this stuff. We went a few times in the UK,
It's a very handy skill to be able to get your own food. I think I could do it but only under duress. I'd be feeling guilty for dispatching the deer or rabbit or whatever. I guess hunger would overtake anyone's feelings.
I remember the Richard Greene series. The one I really remember was the super camp Errol Flynn version, much parodied in Men in Tights by Mel Brooks (1993). On a par with Blazing Saddles.
I have started watching the British TV show The State.
It's a short fictional series on Islamic state and various people who went to that place in the early days before its defeat. Some quite good acting in it and some actors who became better known in other TV shows.

Men in tights was funny.
Not sure if Robin Hood was a hero or a criminal.
Almost like the old mob, steal from the banks but give out turkeys for Thanksgiving to the old neighborhood;
Like the mafia in Vegas, steal, rip off but if an employee had a sick child they would help with medical bills.

Yes, Robin Hood might have been Robbin' Hoodlum and his Merry Gang of Extortionists and Wise Guys.
I suppose the Mafia code had to cover the medical bills of the members because without it, it'd force the member to entertain turning on the others, just to survive. Family is important to those guys. And they settle up between themselves - at least according to the movies.

Just watching the first episode, very well made, the episodes are an hour long. It's a bit raunchy.

Edit: Just watched the first 2 episodes, and both are brilliant. So this will be great to watch on a lazy Sunday on a cold and wet day.

Looks like they'll dribble out the episodes.
First two episodes issued together.
Saw this on Netflix - The Valachi Papers.
Not the best gangster movie but reasonable if a little long.
Trivia: the main GF cum singer left acting in 1980 and became an architect. Quite a career change.

Been watching this show - You, Me and Apocalypse.
Not bad but 10 years old. International cast. Only ran for one season.
There's an anagram of one of the character's names in the plot and I used ChatGPT to check if it was really an anagram and it took ChatGPT quite some time to work it out. It was an anagram (obviously).

The oily business of Landman returns on 16 November for Season 2. 10 episodes.
Stars Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Demi Moore and a few recognisable others.
Accents are very thick Texas or somewhere. I have to put the subtitles on. At an Internet near you.

I know that one. It's probably the very best one. And you're right, what a fantastic cast!
p.s. I'm trying to download it but it's hard to find. I do wish people would put up these old movies.
Robin Hood S01E03 - No Man Can Hide Forever
Summary:
The death of Huntingdon's son deepens the rift between Normans and Saxons; Rob gains a powerful ally in Little John, but the Sheriff's pursuit grows, driving the outlaws deeper into Sherwood; Marian enters the perilous court in Westminster.

Watched the 3rd episode of Robin Hood this morning. Another brilliant one.

Little John
Maid Marian - @SimCityAT
Not as I would imagine her. Looks like a more guerilla fighter version.
Little John - @SimCityAT
Hmmm! Some interesting casting decisions were made. He looks more like he'd be Friar Tuck.

I did get it but I got it as two files which need to be stitched together to make it make work for me. I'm a collector of this kind of thing but it is an annoyance. No-one splits movies nowadays. They used to do it so it fits on CDs. That wasn't unusual many years ago. No-one even uses CDs now. Or DVDs come to think of it. All replaced by memory sticks. My phone has probably 250-300 x the storage of a CD. It's amazing how far we've come on this kind of stuff.
I'm trying to get my Uni daughter to stitch it together as she's got knowledge professional video editing software (Black Magic Design is the camera company and the software is called Da Vinci Resolve). I'm too lazy to spend time on it. But she's not playing ball right now to help me out.
On HBO Max but inevitably it'll be available for download somewhere. So good actors in it like Pedro Pascal.

Only because of Ozzies reality tv show years ago.Of course, who knows how real it really was.
Must be nice to ride the coat tails of your parents fame.
I worked in a salon on Ventura Blvd, in Woodland Hills at one of my first gigs.
The manager was really cool, super rich and did not need to work;
Her grandfather had been a well known movie star. I wish I could remember who she said he was. It went in one ear and out the other. If it has nothing to do with me, I usually do not store info.
She had a new Porshe, nice big Hollywood Hills home but showed up every day to open the salon, worked right along with us stylists and ran the place fair and honest.
She said it got boring to not work? I do not think so but then again, no one ever left me boo koo bucks.
Would be nice to find out if it is true or not!
