For a start, maybe you can have a look at the official government arm regarding movie and media productions:

However be aware there is definitely no big production agencies or studios in Mauritius itself.
Mauritius is mainly a shooting location where many foreign production companies come to stage or shoot movies. However, they usually come with their whole team and crew for the entire duration of the project and it's quite hard to land a job with them.

I have just arrived, i am looking for opportunities, but will also be setting up post production services here in mauritius, am looking to meet others in the industry. I am a partner in a uk film company that finances and produces films, and specialises in post production.

I am too in Film Production besides tourism. There are many films shot in Mauritius including a recent Hollywood movie called Serenity. There are no production houses in Mauritius , only line producers like me.

Hi Andreas, it'd be great to chat, I think we have some common colleagues out here, I did swing by your office in La croisette a while back.  but have been in and out of the country a lot since buying a house here. I am not to far from you in the North. I recently dis a fox series called "trust" which I started here and finished in the Uk ( funnily enough the producer often works with Stephen Knight). I work on all sorts of things from Bond films (casino Royale, quantum of solace), Harry Potter Films (1-4), to commercials, games, television from low to high budget, I have a  post company in the Uk that I am still a partner in (creativity media), but have diluted my shares to set up things here. I will be on a tv show for a few months, then after will be free for other things, some here, some in Europe and some in the USA.

According to your knowledge of the Mauritius labour market, do you know if there are job opportunities (salaried employment) for junior video editor within audiovisual production companies or digital marketing agencies, for example ?

Were you ever successful in setting up something long-term and residual in the end?

I too am considering moving to Port Louis in the hopes of offering my digital services, brand marketing and videography & photography skills.

However this will be my biggest and furthest leap from my current comfort zone here in Cape Town, South Africa where I have a safe government job in the Filming Department. whereby I most likely have a few mutual clients too - as I am a Film Permits Officer and issue permits to all sorts of Film companies, shooting Micros to Still, TVCs, etc etc
AND THEN I have my own little baby, called BrandOnHere.com - it's a Branding Agency/Company of my own (which is pretty diverse and would allow for relocating, except I might lose some clients in the process)

I do feel that it is a good time for change and to seek a life elsewhere.
