The seventh report of the HSBC Expat Explorer Survey, released this Wednesday 22nd of October 2014, nominated Singapore as the world's second destination for expats. Indeed, Singapore ranks 2nd among 34 qualified countries over a hundred in terms of expatriation. It is listed after Switzerland and is followed by China, Germany, Bahrain, New Zealand and Thailand. Note that this study was conducted among some 9,300 expatriates worldwide. They have been invited to share their opinion and feelings regrding several issues such as the quality of life, financial well-being, as well as ease of raising a family abroad.
According to the HSBC Expat Explorer Survey report, Singapore is particularly appreciated for the economic opportunites it offers. Indeed, 60% of expatriates in Singapore revealed that they have moved in search of a better job and better wages. Given that 78% of them have found a permanent and full-time job, they are convinced of having made the right choice. Moreover, 88% of interviewees affirm that they trust Singapore's economy while 64% of them claim to have more disposable income.
Furthermore, 74% of expatriates say they enjoy the country's multiculturalism through its cuisine and the singaporians' lifestyle. 71% of expatriates claim to have easily adapted to the Singaporeans culture and lifestyle. In addition, 65% go shopping at local markets. As regards housing, 44% of them admit having access to high level accommodation, 31% to an active social life and 48% to quality health care.
