What qualifications are required to teach English in Mauritius? Will a undergraduate degree and a further qualification, the TESOL diploma help or am I wasting my time?

Hi, as far I as know, Mauritians who wish to teach English ( I assume you meant at Primary and secondary level), need to have an undergraduate degree in English and a teaching/education certificate (here it is the PGCE- postgrad certificate in education). Having a masters degree will be a plus point though.

Here it's similar. A undergraduate in anything and a 8 month PGCE. Iv done the 3 year undergrad but I ant wanting to wait another year to be with my Mauritian love.

Do you know anything about teachers with a TESOL - teaching English to speakers of other languages qualification. It's not a MA. I just want to know if this is something that will get me a teaching job?
