I am employed as a Professional in an IT company. I have got an offer from an Indian friend to work as an enterprenur in his company on commission basis to sell IT parts. Am I legally allowed to do so or I have to take a letter from my Employer stating the he has no objection in me working as an enterprenur.

I assume that your are a non-mauritian looking to work in Mauritius? If this is correct, you will need a work permit. Or you can only come to Mauritius on a Tourist Visa. Your boss will need to apply for a work permit or occupation permit.

I am already on Mauritius on a occupational permit and my friend gave me an opportunity to make an extra buck by promiting his company in Mauritius on commission. I had sent an e-mail to BOI. They told me as a professional I cannot engage in any other activity.
