You spew a lot of hate based on propaganda.
If you aren't questioned, you can get away with anything.
Even when facts are presented from the horse's mouth, you believe your opinion is worth more than undisputed historical accounts.

They still use B 52s? Well, Rock Lobster!
Seems very old school. My husband was a subcontractor for the aerospace industry in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Big industries like Boeing, McDonald Douglas, Pratt and Whitney, all of them really at one time or the other.
Some of the materials used were so hard and so space age that they reminded him of Star Trek.
He told me years ago they have technology so advanced that the public would not believe it. They only show us their old stuff.
No need for soldiers any longer. To me it is all a scare tactic to keep us in line.
I would be very upset if any war got worst and involved more countries.What a waste of life, time and energy.
I am so sick or politicians and their lies.
No news from my deportee friend in over a week; I am concerned for her, her health was not great and the reality of being on her own in the US must be hitting her about now.
Not the best time to be on ones own there.
Yes, I did get some bubbly yesterday to celebrate my brother finally going home! I read between the lines of his letter; It must feel strange being home after having your days controlled by staff for over a year. Not a prison but close to it.
He still needs a walker to walk with but hope in time he is strong again. Not that losing his leg made him this weak, it was the sepsis and what it did to his organs .
He lost over 70 lbs in rehab and hospital.
He aged from all of this, very sad to see but he is still alive!
I do not think his new kitchen will have lower counters or any major difference then an average home. He is 6 feet tall and his wife is doing the kitchen more for herself.
Grab bars here and there is a great idea; Had them put in his new shower but the idiot repairman put them in sideways or up side down! Hope he redid them by now!
Hard to find good help these days as they say.
See here - @fluffy2560 No thanks - @Fred
Up to you matey, no-one forced you to come to this forum and there are other things to do.
And elsewhere:
Times knocking on. I've got to get my dog walking today as it's sunny and heating up. Be really nice in the forest if the wind let's up.
And No. 3 daughter is going to be back from Uni soon.
As usually at Fluffy Town, it's always busy in some way.
Let's believe the newspapers.or we could use our brains instead. - @Fred
International Relations is now the place to go to for this stuff. Post it here and it'll be ignored.

Yes, the B52s are still going. I've got all their records.
Anyway, It's a mega plane, 8 engines and a behemoth of firepower. I always thought it was an ungainly looking thing. But it's the equivalent of an 18-wheeler truck but with high altitude death cargo. Still a favourite if you can still see one. I always liked the SR-71 Blackbird. Like a dart! Definitely one for the Love Shack anoraks. I'm a closet Anorak for planes and have been since I was a little kid. I couldn't think of anything more interesting at bed time than reading the operations manual for a B737 (a fairly manual plane compared to the Airbus types). Definitely a sad case reading about types of jet engines on my phone in bed.
I guess your Swedish deportee is trying to survive back in Miami and isn't yet connected or has her health care sorted. I suppose that's just the way the cookie crumbles. I cannot imagine being dumped, unhealthy and broke anywhere without at least some form of help from someone.
Losing 70lbs has to be a good thing. It'll get him mobile again. Physio should bring him back from the brink and if he perhaps connects up with others in the same position, then maybe they'll have tips to get him going. I've seen plenty of people missing limbs doing fantastic athletic feats - the para-olympics is a good place to see stuff like that. I guess it's about building strength and adapting to different thinking. Maybe someone should come and advise on adaptations in the house. There must be some kind of volunteer services that would offer freebie advice?
I know when I put the handles up, I thought about it very carefully. In the shower for example, I assumed people would fall getting in and out so put the handles where they could grab during the transition from in to out and vice versa. It might not work for all possibilities. If one was missing hands, it'd need a different solution. Probably that'd need a wet room and no steps or sills.
BTW, there's always need for soldiers on the ground. One cannot hold ground without a ground presence. AI and drones will not be able to do it. I remember patrolling around in my camouflage gear. We'd hide out in the woods in tactical positions ready to ambush Ivan. I reckon we sounded like a herd of elephants tramping around with heavy guns and kit. Any Ruskies would have easily picked us off in 5 minutes.
I hear the doggy whinging. She knows when it's time to go out. Like she knows when it's dinner time.

The B52 has only ever been used for mass murder, mostly civilians.
See operation menu.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-67582813
500,000 tons of bombs on civilians villages, and the US tried to keep their massive crimes hidden.
Not a single charge was ever brought over the tens of thousands civilians they murdered in the biggest terrorist operation in history.
The Blackbird was used to illegally overfly foreign countries as a spy plane.
Not much to celebrate there.

sorry, I don't have the time to read links
I dislike war, never heard anything good come from it.
My husband was 4F disqualified to be in national service at 18 here in Hungary.
His heart was not good enough, childhood illness.
So instead of serving for 2 years, he had to pay extra taxes for non service for 4 years!
Like he chose to be ill?
Nothing is fair in war!
My father did not want to fight anyone in WW2.
He was called up and tried to figure out a way to postpone it as long as possible.
He decided to become an Army medic because it meant he had 18 months of crash course medical training in the US.
He hoped Hilter would give up before he was shipped out. No such luck, sent to the front lines in the S. Pacific.
He said he had fun those 18 months however; A handsome guy in a uniform in Colorado with most of the young men already shipped out. He had a field day dating.
Always a bright side I suppose to any situation.
My deportee friend is in Ca.up in San Fran. They sent her to Miami but the church brought her to SF the same day. They had a guy meet her in Miami and sent her off where they helped her get a hotel. Now from what I know she is in a women,s shelter, a half way house of sorts. She is active online usually; No news, gone dark, hope her health is not the issue. She was not feeling good before they kicked her out of Sweden. Was under doctors care and had some medical treatments and blood transfusions just a month or so before she left. Needs to be looked at to see how her condition is coming along. I honestly am afraid for her. I know she would write if she was able to.
Yes, my brother personally showed the repair guy where he wanted his hand grips put into his shower, I guess he needed to hold the guys hand too! IDK what is wrong with some people; No imagination at all!
My cousins son is in the Philippines ATM. Getting married this Sunday to his uncles wives cousin; All in the family!
I pray Trump does not mess up her visa to the US. They applied for it over 9 months ago.
He has to leave at the end of the month back to the states, hope his bride can come with him without any stupid hassles.

I agree, no one wants war but I think it's coming anyway. I think here in Hungary, we'll plod on with this kind of proxy/phoney war with Russia via Ukraine (and the rest of us) for at least a couple more years. I think it's going to work out worse in the Pacific. I can see chances of confrontation there increasing considerably. But I'll post that in the International Relations thread.
It's not good for my supply lines. I just ordered via AliExpress some computer bits from China. Cost 50% of the European cost for one for the same article so I ordered two of them. They say it'll come next week.
My Dad was a technical person and wasn't drafted. He went into an Army apprenticeship to be a motor mechanic at the incredibly young age of 14. Hard to imagine. He said he was selected for that when they said, right you lot over there, you're mechanics and you lot over there, you're vehicle electricians. And that was that, his fate was sealed for the rest of his life to work repairing engines/vehicles but mainly tanks and their weaponry. I think they must have understood very clearly where recruits' skills lay. I don't think combat medic vs motor mechanic compares. Clearly combat medic got the worse end of it. My Dad was usually 2 to 6 days behind the front line as they collected up the damaged vehicles and repaired them. But they did have to defend their positions and he did get shot at and shelled by opportunist German forces. Like others, he never really talked about what he saw which is a shame because there's no chance to discuss it now he's gone.
I am surprised the church shipped the Swedish deportee to SF. But guess it's as good a place as any. I hope she gets her medical treatment on time. I am not sure how that's going to go on if she's not working and the current upheavals in the US government. It seems to be all over the place.
Mrs F and No.1 HU Fluffyette are at a civil wedding tomorrow but it's an all HU job so no visas or international stuff. It's a quick job with a lunch. My son and I are not going. We'll be just at home doing our usual stuff although we might go to Burger King out of desperation.
I was planning to do some outside garden work tomorrow but it's far too windy and a bit too cold to do what I planned which was painting. My new paint will be peppered with dust and dirt. I have a lot of DIY to do but the weather seems to stop it every time. I might be reduced to vacuuming the car and jetwashing it. I've got some non-emergency repairs to investigate on my hobby car but I'm not getting underneath in this wind and cold. Maybe next week.

The Obama/Biden war for profit in Ukraine has the potential to expand.
As for the South China Sea, aggressive US forces, especially carrier groups, building up in the region since Obama ordered the shift have destabilised the situation to the point one misunderstanding could spark a limited confict, or worse if the leaders dig in.
China was forced to build a first line of defence against the Carriers, but the US blamed China for increasing their defensive forces.
The timeline is clear - The US started the arms race.
All those old outdated weapons and such were just sitting around on the shelves.
Some dim wit said, let us sell them or give them away and collect later on.
All the equipment they have sent to Ukraine is more then likely outdated stuff that was collecting dust.
Just disgusting how evil the human mind can be.
No one ever says, hey lets go to Africa and build homes, water systems etc; and make sure everyone is feed well. The world only comes together when it wants to destroy and kill.
My father was no war hero, my step father sort of was.
My father had a supply of morphine in his medical kit.
He often told us he would give himself a boost before any action started, just in case...
He always said he did not want to be crying in pain like all those poor bastards did , the ones they could not get to to help.
I think he felt a bit guilty because he always said that. He said he could of risked his life more often to drag out a wounded soldier but their cries scared him so much, he figured either they could hang on a little longer until it was clear or they were goners anyways, he did not wish to join them.
Too real.
Can not judge unless you were there I suppose.
He always said the US gov was stupid by giving medics white helmets with a red cross on the front, perfect targets. He never wore his.
The wind is wild today, glad we ran our errands yesterday, nice day it was.
My deportee should get free medical care since she is broke and has no real savings. At least that is suppose to be how it plays out.If you have less then a few thousands bucks you get free medicare, or so it used to go like that. They also give US seniors free medicare if they have no more then $3,500 as a couple in savings. My sisters income is slightly too high so she gets medicare at her own cost plus pays 10% to 20% an office visit and that much towards medications etc. That can add up fast if you need allot of visits or meds. My Vegas friend is on medicare and was paying $40. a visit for Physical Therapy. So 10% would come out to $400. a visit without medicare? Insane!
My brother was and is still getting PT for his issues. Now they will send someone over to his home from my understanding. He works out all the time now to rebuild himself. He still has a long way to go, he was on machines to even breath for awhile , had a feeding tube and every tube known to man. It really is a miracle, I keep saying that but it is.

I have a lot of respect for medics. Everyone is going crazy to kill, but a small bunch of people are out to save.
What's not to respect, especially when you consider they put their own lives on the line to look after others.
Hats off to medics everywhere. 👍

I used to work in the oil industry for a very well known oil company. When there was a new deal to start drilling in another country in a joint venture with a government, the company always sent ancient and old gear as part of their investment. We used to store it all this "high-value" stuff in the basement. Most of it looked like scrap metal to me. Anyway, it'd get shipped out with inflated costs on the documents. It was a smart move for the oil company but to me it seemed a bit sharp practice.
I guess the same goes with military kit - send your worn out old trash artillery to Ukraine and say it cost $1M a pop.
People do go to Africa to help but it's a bit ridiculous in some cases. It's like Western privilege. We'll show you how to dig a well despite the fact they already know that. They just need the gear to get it working as they've no cash or corruption has taken it. Helping doesn't mean infantalising them. I had a lot of respect for President Carter and his Habitat for Humanity engagement. Apparently he was quite good at carpentry and very hands-on.
I can imagine a shot of morphine would help you face life on the battlefield. The Syrian military were big time users, promoters and exporters of Captagon. It makes soldiers have bravado and keeps them all awake. Pretty nasty stuff really. And white helmets? WTF? Bullet magnets.
I cannot work out what is Medicare and what is Medicaid. Thankful really that I don't know the difference and if it costs that much to get helped. I was reading about hip replacements this morning - just out of interest, not quite there yet to need one. Maybe a bit of physio will fix it. To get a hip replacement in say, Thailand, about $8K but in the USA, $25-42K. One wonders where that money is going? Into the profits for shareholders and new Porsches for management.

Yes, they are unsung heros.
My step father was also a medic in WW2 and in Korea. He was also a 2 X POW. No idea why he was not killed like many others were, perhaps his medical skill saved him? They needed someone around just in case they also needed aid.
Another reason my father signed up to be a medic was he thought post war the GI Bill would pay for him to continue his medical training and he could be a doctor. Saw too much on the battle field he could not stand the sight of blood and often would pass out in the OR only to come around after the rest of the surgical staff had tossed cold water on him to wake up.
I remember falling down as a child and having a bloody knee or elbow, ran to dad, he would turn pale and say go have your mother look at it.
One thing we often look over is how very young these soldiers were.
My step dad was just 17 when he signed up. Needed his father to co sign for him. His first cousin went down at Peral Harbor and he was all fired up to take his place, so he joined the Navy.
My father was 21 or so when he was drafted.
Allot to deal with at those young ages. I look around at many of the young people on the streets these days and they do not have a clue where they are or how to act.
Can not imagine them making life or death choices on the spot.
My step dad was actually very lucky. In Asian cultures red headed people were considered unlucky; There is was with his fiery red Irish hair...

In the US they have medicare for those over age 65. They take their monthly fees straight out of each persons monthly SS payment to cover their medical; On top of paying out monthly, if you use it or not, they have people pay either 10% or 20% for office visits and tests; If you are in good health then it is somewhere around $178. per month taken out of your SS check. IDK if they have caps on pricing for things like hip replacements or not. My sister had one a couple years ago and she is just barley over the national poverty limits. She never says much about money to me. Medacade probably covered part of her medical bills;
Medicade is for people under age 65 who get medical for free because they are below poverty limits; From my understanding for those over age 65 first they use medicare and for things like care home costs etc; Medicade steps in and helps with those bills if you are below poverty limits;
Just a bunch of BS to confuse the elderly more then anything.
The gov; gives everyone a part A card at age 65 no matter what; It is free but only covers hospital bills no doctors fee, that is in part B which the $178. per month is for. Then for extra you can buy parts C, D and IDK they may have the entire alphabet!
Or you can chose to get a supplemental coverage for your $178. per month, some sort of group share thing from my understanding , some help pay for meds and extras but it depends on if the hospital near you takes that plan or not. Some do not pay for cancer treatments while other do etc; Just one big huge stupid hassle! You can also only sign up during what they call the open window certain months of the year.
Yes, the doctors in the US live like kings, total scammers in most cases. Go to school for 10 years and make bank the rest of their lives. It takes at least 10 years to call yourself a good machinist but for sure they do not live like kings. A good hairdresser needs many years to be considered a master but although some make a good living, no where near what a doctor makes.

They take their monthly fees straight out of each persons monthly SS payment to cover their medical; On top of paying out monthly, if you use it or not, they have people pay either 10% or 20% for office visits and tests; If you are in good health then it is somewhere around $178. per month taken out of your SS check. IDK if they have caps on pricing for things like hip replacements or not. My sister had one a couple years ago and she is just barley over the national poverty limits. She never says much about money to me. Medacade probably covered part of her medical bills;
Medicade is for people under age 65 who get medical for free because they are below poverty limits; From my understanding for those over age 65 first they use medicare and for things like care home costs etc; Medicade steps in and helps with those bills if you are below poverty limits;
- @Marilyn Tassy
My god, that is such a complicated system for healthcare, it's also most a scam. It's been calculated that payments for healthcare made out of general taxation elsewhere actually costs less (per head) than the US system of healthcare. Crazy stuff. Pretty much free over here in Europe for those in retirement.
Mrs Fluffy and I cleaned out the shed gutter, move a big pile of firewood and did some general gardening. I am going to pay for it with my bad back mow. I probably won't be able to walk the doggie. At least the weather is good.
Yes, it is very complicated in the US, I did not even try to explain the half of it.
Funny though, I had medicare for a short time, just a few months when we visited to US for 6 months. By the time my paperwork went through and my health card arrived, I was just about ready to leave the US again;
I did get some needed PT for my knee and had a one time doctors visit for a general check up. At that office we parked and walked into a nice waiting area and went up to the desk to check in.
I was told, oh, sorry your doctor is on the same complex but in a different building.
OK, walked in, looked like a war zone, cheap plastic chairs and a crowd of people holding their numbers.
Nice enough doctor but dang, 2 teir system there for sure!
Heard from my deportee friend; Still in a womens shelter but since she is not a druggie they are working on finding her her own small studio apt; Willing to pay $800. a month towards her rent; OK, sounds great but where on earth can you find even a closet to rent in SF, Ca; for that much?
At least they have access to these rooming house style flats, probably the public does not even know they have these low rent places available.
Hope she finds her own starting place soon; She made me laugh by saying how much SF as changed over the years. In the shelter many of the staff are male to female trannies! She was wondering what happened to your average everyday gay person? SF is too woke for sure!
Well, we must move our car today.
They are using our street once again for a backdrop for a film.
You would think they would give us tickets for the premiere, nay no way; Just lights action camera noise for us!
So my cousins son is taking the plunge today,getting married.
Big party with the entire village in the Philippines invited, about 500 people.
My cousin invited me to watch live but since it will be around 3:30 am Hungarian time, I will skip it;
Should be something though, all that food and dancing.
We attended a Filipino style wedding in Hilo.
Only about 8 to 10 people saw them take their vows, we were invited to watch then the real party started.
Held in a backyard with tarps put up in case it rained, which it usually does in Hilo.
It was beautiful, even had my husband shed a couple of tears when the grooms mother , a professional Hula dancer from Honolulu danced.Some sort of Hula to let her son go,it was something beautiful and moving; Then the bride dances with everyone who had pinned money on her dress. We gave them a hefty cash envelope because we did not know my husband could of scored a dance if he had just pinned it on her dress;
All the ladies made food and we were handed a huge plate of items and huge can of beer as we walked in.
I just hope they are happy and Trumps immigration rules do not keep them apart for long.

I got really hit with gardening and then dog walking. It was obviously too much. I ended up laying on the sofa or sitting in a painkiller induced stupor most of the day. Bending over and lifting things and climbing up ladders and then suffering is just not the way it should be. I really should learn my lesson and get some help doing stuff from Mrs F and if she's not available, the Fluffy Kids if they can stop looking at TikTok or whatever the F they are doing. We've got a few things to do in the garden more so I'm hoping I can rustle up some help. Probably I need an X-ray on my spine. I think I have an impinged nerve caused by a slipped disc. My No. 1 UK daughter tells me I need some heavy massage. I can feel the attractiveness of that idea. I need someone to put pressure on the hurty pressure point bits and Mrs F is not available to push on demand.
Sounds like SF is working out for the Swedish deportee. I thought she'd be on the streets living in a cardboard box. Sounds like she has support. All she needs is a job - assuming her health is up to it - and of course healthcare. I am pretty surprised she'd get $800 a month towards rent. That sounds substantial but like you say, it must be tough to rent at that level in the SF area.
Mrs F and I were there and it was a minimum of $100 a night for a fairly crappy motel and that was way back in the 1990s. I liked it in SF but no desire or reason to go back to the area. I just couldn't face the idea of going through US immigration. Or any anyone's immigration come to think of it.

I think your street must be the one I always see on movies. Looks a bit like Paris. They should pay some compensation for the inconvenience. We sometimes see movie people in the forest, and on some walks and we used to have a film set just up the road. I've driven past it in the past month and since the show ended, it's just overgrown. We can see Korda Studios from the local wildlife park tower. It looms large on the horizon. We went to the studios and it was deserted. As they are using the area around here for film sets, we have to be a bit careful on some of the forest roads here as they've put chains across the tracks and there are no warning signs. Your car would be destroyed if you ran into the chain. Take half the front off your vehicle. And it'll smash your bike and you to bits if you hit it at speed. It's nearly happened to us!
There wasn't anything interesting to say about the HU civil wedding Mrs F and our HU daughter went to. No Hula dancing. Or any dancing at all. It was all kind of over fast, they went for food and they came back here. Nothing much to write home about. Our HU daughter then went by train to Munich to see a friend and is due back today. Students are all on holiday for Easter. It'll be all bunnies, eggs and stuff in the coming days. We already see it all in the shops. Shame the optimism isn't in the weather. After the sunshine, it now looks like rain!
We went to the PO this morning and we were No. 18 in the queue. Mrs F couldn't stand the idea of waiting and so we left and went to Lidl. I got some Lidl tools and exciting things like kitchen towel. This afternoon we'll have to try the PO again. We used to have two post offices here but one closed down. And now the other one is completely mobbed. It made sense to someone.
Trump's immigration rules are causing people to think about other destinations. I believe tourism is way down and valuable people are being offered work in Europe instead. I can see this being a massive boon for European universities. The EU and I think France is leading this. I reckon the UK should be setting up a large research fund to attract US talent. Bit too much to hope for as the UK politicians are always a few sandwiches short of a picnic when it comes to immigration howsoever caused. Looks like the US is going the same way.
I'm not seeing anything too negative from Canada at the moment except down near Windsor/Detroit. My daughter there is working and so is her BF and they are not in the automotive business. They should be OK. And they are a fair distance away (maybe 150 km) from probably any impending unemployment blackspots caused by Chump.
I hope I can cover few topics ATM.
I have to say in my humble opinion that there is nothing more heart felt then a Hawaiian style wedding, followed by any other Asian culture.
I did not cry at my own wedding, in fact I if I could of walked out, I might have; Vegas style made me feel second class except for the fact that I was spiritually connected to my husband.
Our best man is a total wanker, now in the Buda Hills with his, IDK, 3rd or 4th wife? A first class Gigolo.
His current wife his Hungarian following his other HU wife from Hawaii.
Her ex and her father were big time investors in Budapest with real estate, commercial mostly.
In the 1970s my cool sister once went on a date with this Dude. Said he was a total A hole, I did not invite him to my wedding but my hubby did;
I swear in the next life I will get the classic, White Wedding that every person deserves!
This dude and his wife post on my hubby;s FB page way too often . Showing off their 5 star vacations etc; I took offence when they invited us a couple years ago to a July 4th party. Felt like I might be their token American.
I could care less about any US holiday or any holiday in fact.
Well, the dinner bell rang... Air fryer time§

At the wedding last week, the groom's mother said (loudly) you can back out if you want. Honestly, I think they know their own minds. They are adults and can think for themselves. Case of parents doing STFU on their kids' "special" days.
I reckon property is the way to make decent money. I've met several people who plough their earnings into property - houses, farms and who knows what. They seem to have solid wealth. They always say land is good as they aren't making any more of it. I mention this because of your mention of a property wanker. We could be going the same way as we have to deal with the MIL's house. I'm of the opinion Mrs F and her bro should have some modernisation plans drawn up by an architect. Easier to sell it with plans/concept than without - if they want to sell it. There's a lot of indecision and reluctance to change on the bro's part. He's not with the programme yet as he hasn't adjusted. Mrs F has taken a lot of control on clearing stuff out. The entire place needs an aggressive and total rebuild. It all costs money.
While we're at it, and more directly interesting to me, I'm keen to have some plans drawn up for modernising of my quite large shed/workshop (ok, not that large, maybe 30m2, 300 sq ft). It's brick built with an asbestos roof. I really want to get on with that shed modernising. It needs a new roof and new roof beams, windows and lintels, doors, insulation and metal security shutters. I want it to look very similar to the house. Same colour, roof tiles etc. This would be one of the few things we need to do outside to make it complete. My neighbours would probably complain but baszd meg to them. We're not even sure if we'd need planning permission because it's just a shed. It's not habitable (but could be unofficially made so when we've finished). It's already wired and alarmed and when we did the garden, we brought sewage and water to it. There's no heating but we can put in a chimney or heat pump easily enough if we're rebuilding. Then we could use it in winter. There's so much stuff in it, we'd have to take a lot of it to a cleared MIL's for storage during rebuilding work.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to think of a good Easter recipe for something like Hot Cross Buns which we (in the UK) eat at Easter. I don't know if they have those in the USA. I just love those buns but I cannot eat them. But I've got quite a lot of bananas that need to be used and possibly could add a dollop of sugar free peanut butter to spice it up. Obviously this has to be sugarless and preferably very light on the calories. I was thinking of some kind of muffins but I find those very boring and obvious. I could make hot cross bun flavour ice cream as I have an ice cream machine. Could be a sorbet as the machine does those too. On the other hand, maybe some kind of tart or flan with a hot cross bun flavour filling of mashed bananas. Willing to hear suggestions on what I could do that's not Hot Cross Buns but tastes like it and is a sugar free version.
My mom used to make hot cross buns, think it was a Ukrainian recipe?
Not looking forward to yet another long holiday.
I no longer take part really in holidays but since one must eat, I will make some French salad, from fresh produce, no frozen stuff. Perhaps just frozen peas and so far I have not seen any fresh ones.
I mix half mayo with half sour cream; try to not make it too saucy either, like it dry , less fat which upsets my digestion. Probably will also make casino eggs.
Guess we are , rich, all of us here in Hungary and we can afford eggs!
Saw in one US state they were going for $19;95 to $26. a dozen!! Must of been free range, cage free organic ones, yikes at those prices one would need a bank loan to purchase eggs!
Not too late to change their minds about getting married; That is funny and sad too. Guess the grooms mom is not too happy with his choice of brides. I know the feeling!!!!!
My God, for 6 months or longer my husband was on the phone daily with our son trying to talk him out of marrying that HU women. We were in Erd and he in Budapest at the time! She kept him so close by he could not even get away long enough to see us in person!
I still burn about that. Gov; wedding day was set, we bought a cake and were ready to get food etc; Our son told us to hold off, he decided his wedding day not to do it. We drove to Budapest and tried to collect him from his fiances moms Buda house; He and his fiance refused to come down, they were upstairs crying about it all;
Her mother talked with my husband while I listened, I could tell it was all BS but I could only sit and listen. Our plan was to kidnap our son and wake him up. What is that called, Stockholm Syndrome? Yes, he had it big time!
We had to leave HU and he refused to go with us to the states.About 2 months later he called saying he signed away his life! He did that, she took just about everything he had once she got to the US. Made us so mad to see evil win!
She even took his car, I put a stop to that; He owned the Mercedes before they married and she stole his keys when she had him arrested on false charges. She had a BF behind our sons back too; I searched the neighborhood near their apt; I knew she was a lazy no good thing so the car had to be walking distance away. Found it within 5 mins, yes half block from their flat!
I called the police up and listed his car as stolen so she could not use it, she I would of driven it away but it had specail keys which we had to order, took about 4 days to get the new set of keys; I got the keys and drove off with the car, called the police and said I had recovered the stolen car, hid it for a week or so in case she got any funny ideas and tried to damage the car or reclaim it. Long story but I felt vindicated in divorce cort when the judge got upset with her; The bailif waved me over after his case was done; A nice black lady, she told me not to feel bad because she saw this everyday; Foreign women using Americans for a green card then pulling the old abuse card. If they only knew how many times she had hit my son on the head! Once in HU she hit him so hard she broke her own hand!!
Yes, I understand moms watching out for their boys.
I know it seems our son was played, but I was played too.
I thought my HU DIL was so odd because of her upbringing; All she needed was a understanding family and to see how life was in the USA.
I remember one day when my husband and I were in Hungary alone; Our son was working himself to death in Vegas to bring her over and pay all her immigration fees.
We took her out for the day in the city, lunch etc; It was a cold windy day and her coat looked second hand and thin to me. I told my husband later that we should take her shopping and get her a nice warm coat; Glad he said no way, let her mother buy her clothing.
My Hungarian 80 year old MIL met her once before they wed; We had her to dinner at my MIL home in Erd;
My MIL was crying and begging my husband to not allow her grandson to marry her! Should of listened to granny!
What ball ache, I had to reset the laptop, now I've got reinstall all the damn programmes 😭 so bloody time consuming. Grrrrrrrr

There's no telling some people. You can tell some people until you're blue in the face and they still go on to make silly mistakes. I guess it's just an expensive lesson. I've done stupid stuff myself and then kicked myself for it. I suppose I had to do it to make sure I didn't do it again. Luckily I didn't actually lose money as such but I wouldn't say I came out on top. I probably "broke even" on whatever stupid thing it was I did. I know what I did but I'm not sharing here as I'd have to hang my head in shame forever for being an idiot. I was told but I did it anyway. Couple of good things came out of it so let's leave it at that. Cringeworthy episode.
We've got a weird thing going on with our car. We have (Korean made) Hankook All Season tyres on the car and Mrs F has just noticed the rubber is coming off in places on the front wheels. Like the rubber layers are separating. This is incredibly dangerous.
I've Googled this and it's a known problem with Hankook tyres for some years. So much so, there's been multiple recalls in the US on Hankook tyres. That's even recently. Now I've got to find out what to do about it. The tyres are only about 15 months old and we only go short journeys like down to Balaton or surrounding areas of Budapest. There's no way it's wear and tear and Mrs F isn't a rally driver and neither am I. Balaton is steady motorway speeds, not drifting. I'm going to try and find out what is going with it. If we complain hard enough, we might get a new set of tyres or better, a refund for a different brand.
Hot X Cross buns are British as far as I know. The cross on the top is of course Christian. But I suppose they could be made everywhere to local tastes and for any reason. No monopoly on them it seems. I like the squidgy texture and the raisins in them. Especially nice toasted. Warm buttered Hot X Buns on Good Friday morning. Heavenly! I'm trying to enlist help from the others on recipe ideas involving the same ingredients. We'll need to be ready for it. Jeez, my mouth is already ready for Hot X Cross bun somethings.

No backup? It's helpful to have one! But I've got room to talk. I don't even follow my own advice.
You just cannot trust hardware these days. At my house I have a lot of data on large disk drives connected to a server. I bought a brand new large 6TB (Seagate) disk to upgrade one disk of 3TB (Western Digital) which was close to full. It has been running non-stop for about 8 years so needed to be checked/taken out of service. I cloned the drive from the 3TB to the 6TB. It took a good day to do that and it was successful. So I then deleted the data of the 3TB. Within a week, the 6TB drive went dead. It's still dead and I've lost all my data. I'm not sure if it's my disk box so I ordered another on AliExpress for delivery this week. There's a whopping amount of stuff on there but probably recoverable. It's under warranty but I didn't pay for data recovery insurance. That'd cost me 300 EUR maybe. I should have known better. D'oh.
@fluffy2560
I do, and I'm at it. I use Chrome so everything is there. Just little things like remembering what I did need and didn't really. 😂 I adding things to my toolbar.

Oh gawd, don't remind me!
I've got a lot of IT kit here. I've started using my Raspberry Pi quite a lot and it's a great little box. Fast enough and not burdened with bloatware.
@fluffy2560
Bloody screensaver, activated after 1 minute. Can't I enjoy a my coffee? Now got to log back in. Change font sizes, just little silly things like this you have to reset to your liking.

Yup, it's really painful that crap. I use screensavers and screen lock. One of my laptops (the best one I have with W10) has a fingerprint reader. I just use that or a PIN code or the actual password. I downgraded it from the dreadful W11.
Another one with W11 has facial recognition. Logs me in automatically. It's quite slow but I don't have to log myself in. I only have to look at the camera. I think that one wants to use the presence my phone as a method to login but I'm currently ignoring that mechanism. It's a W11 nag thing.
Yet another one (W10) I've disabled password logins and it logs me in automatically when I start it. There's nothing on that one and it never leaves my desk. No screensaver.
The Raspberry Pi is simplicity itself. It has logins but I've set it up to log me in without a password. It's on Debian Linux. Nothing on it except a browser. For the money, it's incredible value.
I recall suggesting that TRump's stupidity would open doors for China, or at least China would take full advantage of it.

Looks like I was right.
Next prediction
Trump will get shot by a trained sniper, not some random twit with a gun.
I will explain why I believe that's a possibility a little later.

- @fluffy2560
The B52 has only ever been used for mass murder, mostly civilians.

500,000 tons of bombs on civilians villages, and the US tried to keep their massive crimes hidden.
Not a single charge was ever brought over the tens of thousands civilians they murdered in the biggest terrorist operation in history.

- @fluffy2560The B52 has only ever been used for mass murder, mostly civilians.See operation menu. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-67582813500,000 tons of bombs on civilians villages, and the US tried to keep their massive crimes hidden.Not a single charge was ever brought over the tens of thousands civilians they murdered in the biggest terrorist operation in history.The Blackbird was used to illegally overfly foreign countries as a spy plane.Not much to celebrate there. - @Fredhttps://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1096138#6039849 - @fluffy2560 sorry, I don't have the time to read links - @FredYou are never busy, you just Troll - @SimCityAT
I simply answered a point with undisputed facts backed up by links.
In my opinion, there is no glory in killing hundreds of thousands of people that have no way to defend themselves.
The poster concerned didn't want to read an opposing opinion.
In that case, it's probably wiser not to bring up the point in the first place.
Trump supporters tend to avoid anything that doesn't fit their view of things. This is because they are stupid.
I recall suggesting that TRump's stupidity would open doors for China, or at least China would take full advantage of it.

Looks like I was right.
Next prediction
Trump will get shot by a trained sniper, not some random twit with a gun.
I will explain why I believe that's a possibility a little later. - @Fred

The topics of the moment here are not about Trump except in passing.
