Causeway Fine for Car

Hey guys!

I heard a lot of subjective information from my boss & HR about cars who stay long in saudi arabia that will pay fines, they informed me that their bahraini car was get fine for 6,000-7,000 sar. and a Kuwaity car who stay in 3 months get fine for 1,500 sar for overstaying.

Due to Covid Crisis, My car (bahraini car under bahrain credit) was stuck in saudi arabia since the lockdown started on march 2020, I cant able to send it back and crisis start, works become so death defying due to corona cases in the hospital and currently as of now, I am eligible to go back to bahrain or pass through causeway since the causeway is open for residents & citizen (I mean Residents with High ranking Jobs).

the only thing that bothers me if the fine that they are saying? i try to find a rules about this because I didnt know, if there is no corona i shouldnt be staying here long in saudi arabia, I should have stay in bahrain instead. and my residence permit in bahrain is already expired and every comes to it. so I wanted to know if this happens?

Im about to travel tomorrow or friday or saturday.
Let me know if you have information

Thanks!

Completely missed it.

First of all, if you hold a valid Bahrain residence, your profession is irrelevant - you will be allowed to enter.

Secondly, theoretically, a Bahrain car or Saudi car can't stay in opposing countries for longer than 3 weeks.

But I am not sure on the fine.   As my friend was in Saudi for 2 months going through Iqama transfer process and then went to Bahrain - he didn't get any fine.

XTang , need travel updates on visit to Bahrain by road from Dammam .
i need complete information in details if you dont mind and if you have it.

I m vaccinated by 2 dose Fizer already Tawakalna is immune by 2 dose.

so what other thing is required besides exit entry

Ok, so good news and bad news.

Good news: No Covid test needed before and after arrival in Bahrain.  No quarantine either.
Bad news:  Do you have Bahrain visa or Iqama?  if not, what is the profession on your Iqama and nationality?   because, Bahrain is creating issues on visa on arrival and is either, allowing it only for high professions or some days, only on the basis of passport and not Iqama (i.e. if you have a passport which allows for it e.g. UK/US etc.)

So did they update any list of profession for which they will allow visa if travelling by causeway, before covid i used to get a free visa on arrival for 14 days or some times 7 days? if yes do you have any source  of this list?
So if travelling by causeway NO COVID test is require when going and coming back right, pls confirm

No official communication for the causeway has been released.  What I am telling you is what people have been experiencing as well as by talking to causeway officials on the Bahrain side.   On most days, they will allow higher professions e.g. manager, doctor, engineer etc. to get visa on arrival and on other days, they will restrict visa on arrival to passport (irrespective of what your profession is).   There are many people who used to get it on arrival before and don't anymore now.

Going to Bahrain, no Covid test is needed but coming back into Saudi, as an expat, you need a test done within 72 hours.

I explained the process here a few days ago:

Many thanks XTang

Any update about causeway car fine.

I have already made comments about that in the first post on this thread - scroll up and read.

Hey Guys!
I just crossed bahrain so I got a fine for Saudi Custom due to the fact that my car stay longer in saudi for 90 days, if you exceed 90 days youll be paying fine 2BD per day / 20 sar in custom or 10% the value of your car if you stay your car in saudi for more than 90 days.

I get my penalty for 1 year & 2 months luckily i go for the 10% value of the car, Anyways someone will evaluate your car and they have their price value of the car so, expect if your car is latest model. Im pretty sure youll got higher Custom Tax.

I dont have visa in bahrain anymore so I used my Iqama in saudi and luckily I didnt pay anything in the causeway bahrain side even a visa. they look at me, my passport, my car and wallah everything is smooth. no PCR too and they didnt look at my BeAware or Tawakkalna App that moment.

Im a Nurse Specialist so maybe my job title makes a difference.

@momonski

Hey, i have the same issue as you. I have left my car in saudi for more than 6 months and now i want to bring the car back to the uae.

Did they calculate the fine amount at the border?

How did they value your car price for the 10% fine?

I bought my car for 15000 AED so 10% of that would be around 1500 SAR.

I want to bring my car back to UAE and i am not sure how it will go at the border and i want to be prepared.

Hey man do you have some information please reply. I'm also using the dubai vehicle in Riyadh KSA. Last time i did the exit re-entry in November 2023 from Bahrian. Now its march 2024. Do i still have time? Whats the maximum duration of stay of foreign car in KSA.  I have both residencies at the moment (UAE+KSA)

Maximum duration 90 days.
