I'm taking a trip after the Chinese New Year - at the end of February, but I haven't decided where to go.
So where should I go? Keep in mind that the phrase "money is no object" is completely foreign to me.
Depends where you looking for: beach, culture, architure, city, food, nightlife, short or long distance, east, south, west, north, something special, adventure, shopping, spa, etc.
Go home!
May be you will remember why you are living in miserable hELLHongKee! You may end up in the remake of KingKong!
Thailand has great beaches and is reasonably cheap.
Bali is cheap but full of Ozzie drunks- great place for sex and drugs and rockin' roll.
Holiday destination very much depends on what you want to do and how much you are prepared to pay.
I hope you can visit Philippines but nah! don't go their, floods still everywhere and recently an earthquake occured in Baguio...
How about Vietnam? Or Myanmar (Birma) before it gets flooded with tourists?

I'm open to any suggestions. That's why I'm asking random people here.

Thailand is on the short list. I never really thought about Bali. Maybe I should.

I probably will some day, but maybe when there hasn't been any typhoons or floods in a while.

I'd need a visa. This trip came up on short notice so I'm not going to have time to deal with visas. With an American passport I can go to lots of places without a visa, so I should pick one of those.
It's also worth noting that I was in Minnesota last summer and Europe about a year ago. So I'm open to any place not USA, China, Europe (unless it's cheap) where I don't need a visa. I want to see something new and different.
You can come to Jordan,if you want and you can do lots of different things like I mentioned before.
You buy visa at the airport, that will be easy.
hey, why don't you try Bali, if you love beach, nice places, friendly people, beautiful view, delicious foods, try to Google it, i can not explain much hope you like, good luck, have a nice vacation.
I guess it's only africa, the caribean, middle east and south america left:
Look at mauritius the photo speaks for itself:

Because of the Ozzie drunks, there's a large prostitute problem that has developed into an AIDS problem.
No way would I go there for the sex.
Drugs, excellent place to do 10 years for possession or get a frontal view of a firing squad if you try to import it.
Only idiots go to Bali for sex and drugs; sadly, there are a lot of idiots.
Hi there
I would suggest you to go to Nepal or/and India. The cuture and the people of Nepal are so welcoming.Beautiful harmony between big cultural mix majority of them being hindu and buddhists. If you love mountains and trekkings, the nature the beautiful himalayan glaciers n lakes and the river and mind blowing culture and hospitality at its best in a budget then you would definating have once in a life time experience to see this mountainous country Nepal who carries the pride of having the birth place of Lord Buddha and 8 top mountains of the entire world. While i was there in Nepal in october 2012 for langlang trekking i was pleased with the trekking package to Langtang and the services of emery travels and tours in Kathmandu.well in brief i would say its its one of the most liked holiday destinations. So is India....the trip i made with my husband and his french-german family in 2011 was one of the most memorable holidays i had.i was absolutely amazed with the palaces and the forts and the culture of rajasthan n india as a whole.the beauty of taj mahal takes you to the "deja vu" state.i did a 15 days trip to rajasthan with these awesome folks called Real Rajasthan Tours. They had wonderful services?, very friendly n hospitable drivers, best palace hotels for very reasonable price over all all the best u could ask for to make ur trip a life long memory.Me with my family we loved the trip besides the very hot summer but thank god we had air conditioned car.Or in another case you could opt for france or anywhere in europe aswell. This was the first hand information from the experiences i had.Besides, There are plenty of informations n guides available in internet.i hope you end up with the holiday destination that pleases you the most. All the best.
Happy Traveling!!!

If I go to Jordan, can I still go to Israel? I'd love to do both, but I don't want to deal with any political BS.

Bali seems to be the most popular.

This looks awesome. If only it weren't a 20 hour flight.

I'm pretty sure none of those will be a problem for me. I'm not Australian.
And you shouldn't be going anywhere for sex.

I'd need a visa for Nepal and India is confusing. You need a visa but it's not really a visa but it is.

Yes, you can!
Hmm, sounds familiar...

Thailand is the cheapest on the list.
Right now the short list is:
Bangkok or Phuket
Tokyo
Bali
Seoul or Jeju
Melbourne
I may be a bit partial, but I think everyone should come to Morocco!!!!!
This is an exciting and exotic destination full. Lounge on the beach and soak up any number of the 300 days of sunshine; Ski/trek/four wheel in the Atlas Mountains and discover great hospitality of the local people; Camel Caravan and Bivouac in the Dessert Dunes and feel like you have been transported into the tales of Ali Baba and his Arabian Knights; Hot Air Balloon in the sky for a view to remember; Or perhaps do it all!!!!!
Anything is possible in Morocco!
Where ever you choose, I hope you have a great time!
I know everybody's on the edge of their seats and probably can't sleep what with all the wondering, so here it is. I'm going to Bali.
Sounds fantastic.
When you want to go and would you tell us your experiences?
Love to hear it!
I'm leaving Monday. I'm sure I'll tell someone about it when I get back.
Great decision!! you should write your experiences when you are in Bali !!!

I might borrow Fred's idea and post pictures.
when it is winter in north hemisphere it is summer in south hemisphere. If I were you I would travel to Australia, just as I did before. Bondi beach is the place
It is also summer in Bali.
