Follow up blood test for medical fitness

Hello, I recently completed a blood test for my visa renewal. I was called in for a “follow up” test today:
You are kindly requested to attend Block # 7 at Al Muhaisnah Medical Fitness Center in 2 working days for further follow-up, From 7:30 AM To 1:30 PM, Sunday to Thursday.

They took more blood from me and told me I will be clear in 3 days. I’m really worried as I know people who have been called back have been called back and have had HIV or HepB.

Does anyone know why I was called in for a follow up or why they would need more blood from me.
The doctor didn’t give me much information when I asked. He just said everything is fine.

Thank you

XTang

I have answered this many many times.  It is simple:

They saw something in your results that they want to do a confirmatory test for.  Could be a disease or the sample was contaminated and they want to draw a fresh one to make sure.

And there is no way that they will tell you what they are doing or for you to find out.  You will either get a FIT certificate at the end or get an UNFIT one.

what was your update? i've had the same issue and had to get my blood test done again today. Not sure why as they just said its normal to get another sample and nothing to worry about. But somehow didn't believe them.

XTang

Read above.  The only case in which this is considered "normal" is if the previous blood sample was contaminated.  But then again, even that doesn't fit definition of normal smile.png.

uaebritexpat

Yeah I'm going to have to just wait and see what the results say I guess sad.png . Just worried

Katya2019

Hello,what happened with your test?

uaebritexpat

Nothing yet, awaiting results. They said can take 4 days maybe

Katya2019

Wish you good luck!!!!

Just an update so for future people researching will know that you don’t have to be worried for follow up blood test as mine came back as FIT. I’ve processed Emirates ID and all is fine.

Thanks

Sometimes blood tests produce an indeterminate or inconclusive result, which means the result was neither positive nor negative. This can be for a number of reasons. Perhaps the sample was collected incorrectly or shaken too much during transit to the lab. A specialist told me that in his experience, all tests producing neither a negative nor positive result turn out to be negative on closer examination. I hope this information is helpful to people who may be anxious about receiving an inconclusive test result. Retest yourself as soon as possible and put your mind at rest. Stay safe!

In such cases, should go to the fitness centre to know the result after the second blood test or they will send it by mail? Please advise

XTang

They won't give you any results. Only fit or unfit.  And you don't need to go there.

Bulgakov45

You or your PRO will receive a message within four working days that your application has been processed.

Can you please share your WhatsApp

where did you check it?

I had the same situation, they said I have HIV antibodies in my blood sample and they need to do one more test, was look like routine, I gave the sample and before I left asked one doctor so apparently, the reason is  Pfizer COVID vaccination "I got the second shot two days before the blood test" you can call it a mistake but this is what happened. now waiting for the result of the second test. as far as I googled, only Sinopharm doesn't bring all those antibodies to the body and this happened before to some ppl who got fake HIV positive after getting COVID vaccination. so take care.

Hello all. My son has received the same message and went to Muhaisnah Medical Fitness Centre this morning.  His first medical test was done last week, then he was requested to go to Block 7 today.  They took another blood sample from him, then he was brought to another block where they got his passport and told him to bring the company PRO tomorrow at 10:30AM.  I must admit that this got me worried, but I hope and pray that this is nothing serious and hoping that he will be able to get a FIT to work certificate.

HI, did you have to go back to the medical fitness centre together with your PRO... worried here :-(

Sorry to have to tell you but if they are asking to bring PRO and Passport, it is to initiate deportation proceedings.

If it is a false positive, they will confirm with a western blot test.    If that is negative, you will get a visa.

Actually, they already took my son's passport, but they still allowed him to go home and was just advised to bring the PRO tomorrow.  If it was for deportation due to some communicable disease, then they might not have allowed him to leave the medical fitness centre...  This is making me worried sick now :-(

XTang

The problem is the request to bring the passport and PRO both.   They usually don't keep people there as in the case of dependents but instead inform the PRO / company to initiate visa cancellation and exit proceedings at sponsor expense.   Anyway let's see how it goes.

Starkdxb

how did you check? online?

Update:
after I did the blood test at Block#7, I got the FIT certificate after 4 days. take care guys, the COVID vaccination is making the same antibodies of HIV.

Hi! I had my medical test last July 9, 2021 and when I checked the status in DHA site, the result was "RESULT COMPLETED , CERTIFICATE WILL BE ISSUED ON 15/07/2021 08:33' it means that, there's no re-testing? I'll just have to wait for the result right? thank you

glen dsouza88

It happened to me as well. In May 3rd week I gave medical test in al nahda center and within few hours my sponsor asked me to visit block 7 in muhaisnah for further checkup. When I read  comments online I was worried too. However in my case all went well. Doctor asked few questions about my medical history like medications, whether I had covid or TB etc. I confidently told them I never had any such issue. They just asked me to leave and within 48 hours my results came in and I was declared FIT. So relax guys. Not all guys' story end in misery.

Hi,
Same happened here - 2 days after my first medical, they sent me back the passport and asked me to redo it.
It’s very stressful as you don’t know what’s the reason, but the PRO assured that there’s nothing to worry about, otherwise they wouldn’t have sent the passport and asked me to go by myself for the retest. But still, it feels weird.

aver

What was the result of your 2nd test?

GuestPoster047

All went well. There was a mistake in the first test. I got FIT smile.png

You can't see results online.  It will only show you if results have been released......and not what they are.
