Just to share some knowledge on this topic.... I found an app called AQAR which has a lot of affordable options, however majority are stand alone buildings and do not have any facilities. The compounds that I approached about a 2BR apartment and responded with prices were as follows -

Al-Bustan 225k/year

Antara 196k/year

Kingdom Compound 143k/year

Al Reem 122k/year

Al Jazeera Compound 120k/year

Sedar Village 117k/year

Ranco Village 105k/year

Rayhannah Oasis 95k/year

Rotunda Compound 80k/year

I also found a good estate agent website 'Expat Real Estate' which has some good options.

Please note these prices might change with time and is just to try and guide you.

Just to add onto that, I hope you are aware that Al-Bustan will close in 2 years for renovation.  So give it a miss if you are going to be around for longer than that to avoid a search and the inevitable high prices at that time (considering how Riyadh is booming).
