Advice on move to Canada

Post new topic

jessbren

I plan to move to Canada, and have been wanting to know...

1) what is the job situation in Toronto - in Sales, Accounting and Administration.

2) Areas of American concentration, and a good American school.

3) I am planning on obtaining a residency, which is a bit expensive and long wait.  Does anyone know of reliable agencies for processing my residency (a family of four).

4)  Also, I want to know which is better - visiting the country first and finding a job, or just applying for the residency, moving and then finding a job.

I would greatly appreciate your response, and thank you for taking the time to reply.

HI. From a born Canadian I can say it will be much better to visit and find a job rather than move first then find one. You will likely get in faster this way. Visiting first will be appreciated and show your intent clearly to potential employers.

I have friends who have moved here and done well finding schooling or work first before the move.

Toronto is a large city, there are many other cities in eastern Canada much more interesting to live in. Smaller cities have a great deal to offer. The larger the city the greater the number of issues it faces. Many high income earners and well educated individuals move to smaller cities for more quality of life. Less competition for the jobs as well. Worth looking into further to be sure this is the right place to be for you.

In general, you will find concentrations of Americans in Canada along the border from east to west. We have many good Canadian schools and universities as well from east to west coast.

I grew up in Vancouver. Love it. Though I would not live there again after traveling in Europe and living in the Yukon - fascinating! - before settling on the Sunshine Coast.

Best wishes to your journey!

Americans are every where. We don't have American schools, we only have Canadian schools.Permanent Residenecy can take many months so you should get that sorted before you look for work. There are no agencies that can handle your request for PR, only the government can grant that.An agency is not needed to apply. They will just charge you a fortune to fill out papers that you can easily fill out yourself.

Best of luck.
