Woman with family ties to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt arrested by ICE
I'd probably put a couple of Euro on this woman being released fast. If she isn't, I expect she'll be taking her son, Leavitt's nephew to Brazil (presumably a dual national), never to be seen again. So her brother, will be leaving notes on Barbie Press Secretary Karoline's phone saying thanks Sis, I really appreciate you and Donny keeping me safe from my own child.
It gets weirder and weirder every day.

'Fundamentally wrong': Belgian prime minister doubles down on opposition to reparations loan
Hopes to secure a reparations loan for Ukraine have been dashed after the Belgian prime minister blasted the proposal as "fundamentally wrong" and called on the EU to raise fresh debt instead of touching the Russian assets.
Trump Claims He Personally Redesigned New Coast Guard Ships
Speaking virtually to service members at Mar-a-Lago on Thanksgiving, President Donald Trump has claimed that he personally redesigned new Coast Guard ships because “I’m a looks person.”

They don't investigate littering cases, so I think we can safely say he's been on the take.

Zelenskyy's chief of staff resigns after home raided in anti-corruption investigation
Volodymyr Zelenskyy says his chief of staff Andrii Yermak has resigned.
It comes after anti-corruption investigators raided Yermak's home earlier today.
The Ukrainian leader has also announced a reshuffle of his presidential office as a result of Yermak's departure.
Zelenskyy announced that Yermak had submitted his resignation in a video shared on Telegram. With it, he said the following:
"Russia really wants Ukraine to make mistakes. There will be no mistakes on our part."

I and many others see the Ukrainian-Russian war as an existential threat to Europe. Even if the entire government of Ukraine is corrupt, it's got to be worth it paying UA to win. And buying any amount of weapons they need.
This is where Trump gets it wrong. Instead of withdrawing support, he should be piling more in. But obviously is too busy worrying about the Kompromat or spending time admiring Putin.
I saw an Economist podcast yesterday on Ukraine. If I remember correctly the numbers, it was kind of interesting that the European GDP plus UK and Norway is like 25 trillion EUR and the funding so far to UA is well below 0.25% of that GDP. It's nothing relatively. Europe can easily afford to pay for Russia's defeat and doesn't need the US financially to do it. Just needs a will.
After the Russians are kicked out of Ukraine, there can be an accounting with the government there. In other words, WIN first.

You appear to have forgotten that Ukraine was subject to a coup that removed the democratically elected government in favour of a non-democratic regime that immediately removed the voting rights for the vast majority of people who would vote against them.
In fact, the illegal, very corrupt, coup government should be removed and voting rights restored to all.
NATO should withdraw all foreign troops from post-1999 new member territories, and that organization should immediately exclude the possibility of Ukraine joining it.
Of course, if the coup regime was removed in favour of democracy, a pro-Russian government would almost certainly return to power.
However, some countries see only democracy as a good thing when the government they want is in charge.

Yes, a lot of people believe the propaganda.
Some very foolish people even believe the Iraq invasion was justified because of the WMDs.
They believe the new lies as well.
The sad thing is, when the truth is eventually revealed, the damage is still done, and thousands are still dead.
Still, not to worry because the next great enemy will appear and the debate will restart, just with a different, all new, evil adversary to hate.
One has to look for commonalities with these wars, and there is only one, the true enemy the world faces.
Vietnam, Syria, Korea, Cuba, Panama, Iran, Iraq, Granada, Loas, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and so many other victim countries have few or no ties to each other, but they share the destruction and mass killings that the real threat to world peace brought to their people.

Haha! I did miss that, excellent!
I guess he's saying the people around Biden did it all and Biden just did nothing.
I suppose Trump didn't think how it would come over using that particular verbiage.
I suppose he thinks it'll rile up his voter base. BUT of course, it makes him look more incompetent. Biden hasn't been President for getting on for a year. How long will Trump blame the previous regime?
I notice he's stopped all asylum claims because of the shooting in Washington DC. Like that's going to stop home grown lunatics of any persuasion shooting people in random killings in schools and elsewhere. Availability of guns is part of the problem.

Trump is corrupt, and Putin is very probably just as bad.
However, their misdeeds don't excuse Zelensky’s well reported corruption, and the fact his government is not a democracy, as so often either claimed or ignored.
This is doing the rounds here in HU:
Hungary's Orban defies EU partners and meets Putin again in Moscow
There's a key element in this reporting and that's the mistranslation (for whatever reason) of speech between the two:
"However, the atmosphere when the delegations met in Moscow appeared surprisingly frosty and at one point Orban inadvertently bumped into his Russian host, after shaking hands with other members of the Russian delegation.
One independent Hungarian media outlet also suggested that Putin's words had been mistranslated into Hungarian, to sound more positive."
This has caused much hilarity amongst Hungarians.
The other thing being discussed in HU is how streamlined Putin looks compared to Orban. Orban is overweight and probably suffering from high blood pressure and quite possibly diabetes. He's got the right look for a heart attack waiting to happen.

The first is a lie. I watched the video and there was no bump. It was close, but a lie doesn't make it a bump.
The second is a rumour from July that has no evidence to suggest it might be true.
One has to consider how credible the above poster's comments are when he has been caught lying (again) and spreading unsubstantiated rumours.
One independent Hungarian media outlet also suggested that Putin's words had been mistranslated into Hungarian, to sound more positive." - @fluffy2560
Which one?
A story without a reference has to be taken as unreliable. To repeat unsubstantiated claims is foolish at best.
I have found three such reports, and all come from not very independent news pieces in publications funded (at least in part) by the National Endowment for Democracy.
At least one Ukrainian news outlet has picked it up, but said Putin is a dictator whilst neglecting to mention the Ukrainian president is not in office because he was democratically elected.

Ukraine is now attacking civilian vessels (with no military capabilities) in international waters.
Both of the terrorists' victim vessels are registered in Gambia, but both are owned by Chinese companies.
Neither had any military capabilities or were armed in any way, and both were operated by civilian crews.
I wonder just how much damage there is to the two vessels, and how much potential there is for an environmental disaster.
These are criminal acts.
I was watching FlightRadar24 over Venezuela last night and despite what Trump said, I saw plenty of planes flying from and to Caracas. Around Venezuela's airspace, there's lots of traffic. It's not like Ukraine which has a massive hole in the flight routing as traffic avoids flying over their airspace.
Ukraine says it hit Russian ‘shadow fleet’ tankers with underwater drones in Black Sea
This is an interesting one, well done Ukraine. Mainly for me it being about the Gambia being the flag of registration. I know Gambia very well, having lived and worked there multiple times. If remember correctly (and it was some time ago), there was a scandal where some government people were selling fake registrations for vessels. There was effectively a shadow registry. I don't remember the exact details. I hope there were no Gambians aboard.

Ukraine hit two CHINESE owned tankers in international waters.
I know the press says they were Russian, but the press aren't known for accuracy - They lied for idiots to believe.
However, one of the tankers visited a Russian port last month. Saying that it was NOT travelling to or from Russia when the terrorist attacks on the Chinese civilian ships occurred.
The press are commonly inaccurate, but saying they are Russian owned rather than Chinese (one Hong Kong) is a handy lie.

This act of sabotage took place in international waters off Turkey's coast with no interest in a possible environmental disaster.
Ukraine really knows how to piss off three non-combatant countries at once. Let's hope the terrorists get arrested and tried in a court.
Trump's war on drugs continues with the new strategy of releasing a major trafficker and trying to influence a sovereign county's election.
Ukraine is playing with fire, this time a Turkish tanker
https://www.tradewindsnews.com/tankers/ … -1-1909083
It did load in Russia, but is run by a long established Turkish company.
Unconfirmed reports suggest it has 30,000 tonnes of oil on board and is at risk of sinking.
If oil leaks, the Guinea current will spread oil southwards and have the potential for massive environmental damage, not to mention the destruction of several countries' fishing industries.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said it will be impossible for his country to decouple from Russian oil and gas by 2027, and described the EU's new political agreement on the phase-out as an imposition.

The EU is being silly.
Russian oil is cheaper, and Chinese solar is the best, but they reject both for political reasons.
Their people pay more for fuel, and even more for weapons to defend against enemies their politicians created.

I looked at the routing of the Druzhba pipeline and the main part going towards Hungary and Slovakia passes through Ukraine. They could just turn it off inside their borders and stuff up Hungary and Slovakia.
HU and SK can also get oil via other pipelines from terminals on the Black Sea which do not pass through Ukraine. They could also increase capacity via Croatia. The Hungarians won't do that because they are in a spat with Croatia over their oil companies. It's a problem of the Hungarians own making. The war has been going on for over 3 years. They could have built alternative supply routes in that time. Looks like they wasted time.
Part of it is OV's desperation because of the election in Q2 2026 and it looks like Fidesz will get a drubbing and lose power to the Tisza party. Always good to have an enemy to big up and the EU is an easy target.
There's a saying in Hungary, "Remember Mohacs". It's a phrase used to commemorate a battle in HU where HU lost big time. It means HU consistently picks the wrong side and always ends up the loser. They've done it numerous times and always bet incorrectly. Last significant time was WW2 of course where HU sided enthusiastically with Adolf. And yet again, we see HU going against the majority for nefarious personal reasons of the politicians. It reminds me of the Iraqi Minister of Information (Comical Ali) TV broadcast saying Iraq was going to beat the Americans when the Americans were being filmed at the same time at the airport and wot not.
