Yes Fred you are right. How did I ever manage to live 65 years without your guidance? Look it up on the BBC yourself. I'm busy with affairs of state. If you lack the skills, I can recommend secretarial services to help you out.
And yes, Russia is the enemy. Stop trolling 🧌
For the first, I'd guess at dumb luck.
Prove your claim. I know you can't so I'm sure you'll come up with another weak excuse to avoid proving it.
Asking you to prove the varacity of your assertion is not trolling, it's asking for proof. As I said, I believe that's in your head as a result of reading and believing propaganda, but not a fact to be seen.
The history of US/Russia relationships from 1917 onwards has always been Russia either doing the same as the US (albeit less efficiently) and the US being plain wrong. The US sent troops to Russia in 1918 to support the white forces, but they lost that one.
Gary Powers was a prime example- A hero in US eyes, but really just a spy that was caught invading Russian airspace.
You say Russia is a threat, so I request you prove it.
After all, debate is about changing minds, not throwing a tantrum and asking your interlocutor to prove your points.
....at, I'll send my hard earned to the fake government as soon as Zelensky gives up his many millions to his country.I would like that to include his dodgy offshore funds.https://www.occrp.org/en/project/the-pa … ner-circleStill, you can send him your cash if you feel especially stupid one day. What, you don't know he's corrupt? GOSH! - @Fred
Not reading your links. Too busy with more important matters.
Have you ever been to Coventry Fred?
I have a feeling you'll be taking a virtual trip there very shortly.

Yes, sticking your fingers in your ears and singing, "La la lar" is also a common way for those unable to back up their assertions to hide from their responsibility to prove their points.
The links show your hero Ukrainian president has offshore accounts that were uncovered in a vast investigation by independant journalists.
He's asking for your cash, but he's hiding his dodgy money.
Still, fools will believe him.
Greece agreed on Friday to import 700 million cubic metres of U.S. liquefied natural gas per year starting in 2030 in its first long-term deal with Washington, which seeks to replace Russian supplies to Europe.

That's interesting. You'd think Greece would be getting gas from say, Libya or fields off Cyprus or Israel (contentious). Italy has some oil fields too. And Romania. Azerbaijan isn't so far.
Most of these countries should be building at least one LNG terminal per country and interconnecting pipelines.

Of course that means the US makes a lot of money. That minor detail isn't mentioned because it ruins the 'Putin's war' narrative when you realise it's all about cash.
Another point that isn't mentioned is how Greece has signed a massive deal with Exxon for offshore gas and how the US is actively blocking renewable energy deals in favour of selling US oil and gas.
Back to giving corrupt Zelensky your money.
https://www.occrp.org/en/project/the-pa … ner-circle
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his partners in comedy production owned a network of offshore companies related to their business based in the British Virgin Islands, Cyprus, and Belize.
Zelensky’s current chief aide, Serhiy Shefir, as well as the head of the country’s Security Service, were part of the offshore network.
Offshore companies were used by Shefir and another business partner to buy pricey London real estate.
Around the time of his 2019 election, Zelensky handed his shares in a key offshore company over to Shefir, but the two appear to have made an arrangement for Zelensky’s family to continue receiving money from the offshore.
I will send all my money to one of his London addresses- After all he can hardly afford the council tax.
Zelensky corruption is not new

The European Court of Human Rights found that Ukraine is unjustly barring people who've fled the conflict in eastern Ukraine from voting in local elections.

This is hardly mentioned as it shows that Ukraine isn't a democracy as many claim in order to push the anti-Russia fairy tale.

"I will remove corruption", lied Zelensky.
"I will take control of the anti-corruption departments to protect my corrupt pals", he said - not lying for a change.

Ah, this is very much like the US FARA law that allows foreign journalists to be arrested if the US doesn't like what they say.

Of course, when the US does it, it's a good thing, but others aren't allowed to stop the US doing it in their countries.

I just read about the split on CNN. While I enjoy observing the infighting, we should not forget who MTG actually is. What she's said in the past should never be forgotten.
Will the Epstein files bring down Trump? No, I doubt it. But why is he calling it a hoax? No-one has seen what's in the entire thing yet. So is he saying that because he's likely implicated?
And the Clinton claims and investigation seem pretty implausible. It seems to be rather pointless as a diversion, driven by Trump's very visible idea everyone is trying to get him.
Apparently the HU State of Emergency has been extended 180 days. This then encompasses the election in April 2026

Yes, that behaviour of Trump's is going to increase the likelihood of his downfall.
He doesn't like female journalists (perhaps women in general) and he always creates a diversion at the beginning of his answer.
This kind of thing might be some other thing in his head, like his mind is going (more) ga-ga.
US military officials in Ukraine amid reports of draft Russia peace plan
I cannot see Ukraine accepting the conditions Russia has demanded in the latest peace plan.
It continues to baffle me and many others why Trump is so subservient to Putin. Everyone talks about Kompromat but we don't have any evidence for that.
I find it odd that these "peace envoy" types are going there to achieve nothing much at all.

Without Europe?
EU countries demand seat at the table over US-Russia plan to end war in Ukraine
The European Union is pushing back against a 28-point plan to end the war in Ukraine, reportedly being drafted behind closed doors by the US and Russia, demanding that any diplomatic attempt must have Kyiv and European leaders at the table. The plan, first reported by US outlet Axios, is said to include terms that would be highly disadvantageous for Ukraine, such as the complete surrender of the Donbas, which Russian forces have failed to entirely control, and limitations on the armed forces.
Makes me wonder why would the US push this now? It's clearly never going to be acceptable to the Ukrainians. They'd fight with shovels. It seems Trump is living in multiple parallel universes to the rest of us.
Maybe it's just a diversion over Epstein. Even that seems doubtful now because it looks like it could be be redacted.
The peace proposal is supposed to include security guarantees by the USA. But from what we've seen, no-one is completely sure anyone can trust them, not even NATO. It won't be worth the paper it's written on. The Americans seem to have forgotten about the Budapest Memorandum.
Meanwhile, I am surprised how quickly MTG has "changed" tack on Trump (skip forward to 58s):
GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene hits back at Trump: 'I've never owed him anything'
Apparently her epiphany came when Charlie Kirk got shot. She said her previously hateful speech put her on the firing line. Well no sh** Sherlock. Never seen someone grow a conscience so fast. Her definition of traitor was rather pointed - someone who serves foreign governments. I wonder who she could have been referring to?

I was actually quoting the Ukrainian foreign minister in 2024 during an ABC News interview.
He said:

Of course, if a Ukrainian man has fled to avoid being forced to kill people, he can't renew his passport.

Believing politicians without checking is always unwise, especially when they use selective truth. In this case ignoring the extremely unpopular street conscription (kidnappings).
However, turning to personal attacks, accusations, or other non-arguments are a sure sign an interlocutor has no effective points to present in order to support their position.
Perhaps you would like to offer compelling reasons that enhance your case.

Donald Trump’s latest plan for ending the war in Ukraine would see territory ceded to Russia, Russia readmitted to the G8 and Ukraine banned from joining Nato, according to drafts of the proposal seen by Axios, AFP and the Associated Press.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he expected to discuss the plan with Trump “in coming days,” adding any deal must bring a “dignified peace” with “respect for our independence, our sovereignty.”

Yes, NATO really started their military threats to Russia back then.
Take a look at a map - Ukraine joining would leave Moscow open to a pincer attack.
Given how many countries the US has attacked since 1946, Putin felt the only way to stop US aggression was by taking control of Ukraine after the US run coup.

The Russian wish list seems to be just the same as it ever was - unserious.
From what I'm seeing in the USA, Trump is likely to be a lame duck President very soon. Polls are showing him -16% underwater on his Presidency. With the mid-terms so close, this looks bad for him and his supporters.
@fluffy2560
When Fox News starts to report that Trump's approval ratings are hitting rock bottom, then you know Trump must be feeling the kick in the teeth. But he will probably shrug it off and call the reporters names, saying it's fake news.

He has now scrapped the 40% tariffs with Brazil. This means the costs will come down for things like Coffee. He will take the credit for lowering prices when it was he who caused them to increase. But his MAGA cult is too stupid to understand this and think he is lowering prices like he said he would from day one.

Fundamental question is if he has dementia?
My view on dementia (having seen and interacted with people with it) is that it brings out extremist and unreasonable views before other decline happens. He's of the right age - I think he's 79. Anyone over 75 has to be suspect.
To me, it's one of the fundamental questions - is that person behaving more out of character? It seems like he's even more loopy than he was before.

US-style coffee? No thank you.
I bought some Brazilian style coffee in a local discount store. It was a Brazilan/Colombian mix made by Omnia. That's a well known brand in Europe. That version not that good. We moved on to another tin/packet from the company Illy. It's a lot nicer and even better we got it as a gift.
40% tariff. Dimwitted.
@fluffy2560
America imports the most coffee from Brazil and Colombia. Coffee beans are coffee beans; what they do with them afterwards is their problem. I can't stand it either, their filter coffee is bloody awful.
When I have had American friends over, and had our coffee, they have said they will invest in a proper coffee machine and will never go back to filter coffee.
On my sister's last day with us. We were all knackered, in the 1st district of Vienna, we popped into Starbucks for a coffee. Oh gawd, my missus and I had a black coffee, and it was filtered. It was like dishwater.
