OMG, that's one I'd run away from at very high speed!
Too slushy and too religious.
And no spaceships or dystopia.

It is good if you take out the religion out of it.
I watched Sea Fever this morning. For a low budget'ish movie, it was pretty good with two well known actors Dougray Scott (wobby Irish accent) and Connie Nielson (does a passable Irish accent). Gory but it is a horror sci-fi movie.

Interesting.
Adnan Canto was the male lead in "The Cleaning Lady" Seasons 1-3. He was also in a few other shows. Sadly he died at only age 42 from cancer. I haven't started on Season 4 so I have yet to find who replaces him as the love interest.
If anyone wishes a good laugh and wishes to lose their stomach, check out Kays cooking on U tube.
The worst cook ever!
She is serious about cooking too, try to find the episode where she fries rice in a frying pan without pre cooking it and then forces her grown son to eat it!
Even fellow Brits might have a hard time understanding her logic and speech. Not sure what sort of accent she has but between her making up her own words and all the rambling on...
Gotta love her Iron Maiden T shirts as well.
Good for a laugh, never know she may give you an idea for your next dinner party!
Just have some pepto on hand!

I dunno, Mrs F fries rice without cooking it. I think this is the way to make some Asian and Spanish dishes. I made Paella the other day and it said fry the rice without cooking it beforehand.
It was absolutely dreadful but it was my fault. I didn't cook it long enough afterwards for the rice to soak up the liquid. It tasted like half-cooked crunchy bird seed.
Second time I tried it (I'm a slow learner), there's some "burnt" thing about paella which I managed to achieve but it made it even worse! People were raving about this burnt rice thing. Jeez, gimme a break, if it's burnt, you've done it wrong!
Nothing wrong with Iron Maiden. If only I had an Iron Maiden T-shirt. But I wouldn't swap for my Star Wars Darth Vader T-shirt.
BTW, Fred, our not so lovable troll, is a fan of Iron Maiden. I think we established that in the fog of trolling words.
You will have to watch Kays cooking to understand, no she served her fried rice without adding liquid, all nice and crunchy. Hope they have a good dentist on call! I always fry my rice a bit before adding water, it gives it a nice color and adds some flavor.
She seems like a doll of a lady but man, she is a wacky cook.
It is funny to watch,
One video she literally put half boiled spiral noodles in a oven dish without greasing the dish at all; Opened a can of beans, minus any pork bits and covered about 1/4th in grated cheese.
Put in oven till cheese melted, no spices added, onions nada, just half cooked noodles with a can of beans poured on top. What is funny is she often calls out to her grown son to take a bit, poor guy!
Only 1/4 cheese because her son is lactose intolerant! Lets not talk about half cooked noodles or canned beans upsetting the ol tummy!
My brother, Lon, the one who lost his leg , he used to be a roadie in his 20s for Iron Maiden; He said they were all really nice guys.
I have a few rocker T shirts, never paid full price for them.
Well did buy a Stones shirt at a concert but never could find it, think my sister, Myra grabbed it from me.
Have a T Rex shirt, doubt anyone knows who they were these days. Have a Lynard Skynard shirt, a Pink Floyd one and another Stones one. Think that is it. Have a Hard Rock one as well, paid no more then $3. each second hand in Vegas.
I have heard the second hands shops in the states have lost it.
They found out about people do resale from items bought there; Now Goodwill has their own E bay page and is asking more then new for many items.
Used to be able to find a nice leather jacket for $10. to $20. bucks there in good shape. Now they are asking $100. or more.
All good things come to an end I suppose.
Well, I have learned a lesson.
Do not watch disgusting or violent shows or news clips before going off the dream land.
Last night I watched a couple of short news items about that Diddy trail.
Nothing but nightmares last night.
This sort of news belongs in the trashcan. Those on the jury should be offered free mental help afterwards and support while enduring this trail.
They also should be paid a higher stipance for sitting there and hearing this horror.

Are you really interested in that Diddy guy? What's he famous for?
I can hardly bring myself to read anything about the Kardashians (who?) or anyone who is vaguely a reality star. I was mildly interested to see she was robbed in Paris. It could make a film but it's not like it'd be much of a novelty. Been done before.
I was however amused to see Macron's wife Brigitte shoving him on the plane when it arrived in Vietnam.
Both her and Michelle Obama are usually accused of being men. Since both have borne children, that's not going to be true unless it's an unknown miracle of modern science or aliens.
In other news, apparently Boris Johnson (ex-UK PM) has 9 children with No. 9 arriving a few days ago. Not judging, I just wish I knew how he pays for it all. What's he doing right that I'm not doing? Right now, he seems to be famous for being famous it seems.

I think that's a pretty good T-shirt collection. I'd take them except the Hard Rock one! I never had much time for their restaurants. I've had an overpriced burger in there somewhere. Might have been LV and it was average food at best. T-Rex (Marc Bolan) was a fantastic band and some great hits. I still have one of his albums bought for me by my sister. It's a 33rpm gramophone record. That's something you don't see everyday. No way to play it but we've been discussing if we should get a modern player to connect to a computer. Anyway, that T-Rex shirt would be worth something. I bet you could get $100 for it on Ebay.
It's not unusual for charities to sell stuff online (UK doen't have the equivalent of Goodwill, it's individually organised by the charities themselves). It's the modern way. We got rid of a lot of my Dad's furniture via charity collections which was quite a struggle. Now we have to think how to do that at the MIL's place. It's just horrible there. I haven't been there for some weeks. No-one has the energy to go and sort it out. It's a shame we cannot burn stuff in the garden. We don't know what to do with the 1000s of books. Ugh, no-one wants to deal with it.
I cannot imagine any food without some spices in it. Last night we had Pad Thai from the takeaway shop at Mammut. It was OK but the portions are getting smaller there. It comes in one of those boxes but I notice it's not filled to the top these days. Hmmm....takeaway food inflation.
But I do think baked beans are underrated. They are really good to have on toast with melted cheese on top (preferably mature cheddar) and as an add in on some dishes. My biggest complaint is they are full of sugar. If only they could make sugar free ones. It's the sauces that do you in. Actual beans have hardly any sugar in them. Only solution would be to wash the sauce off which kind of messes up the entire idea. I suppose I could think about making my own baked beans. Now there's an idea. I could channel my inner cowboy - they seem to like beans.
Looks like a nice sunny day and temperatures are rising. We should be all out in the countryside! I will take the dog walking today if my hip holds up. It's been playing up the past few days. It hurts in the morning but once I get going, it's less difficult. Sounds exactly like osteoarthritis. Not what anyone wants.
I will comment on everything else, although life is sometimes a horror show, it is not on film.
I do not do Diddy,no hidden cameras!
Dept Q arrives 29 May 2025 on Netflix. It's about Edinburgh detectives.
Not to be confused with the fabulous Department S of the 1960s and its groovy theme tune.
Or Department Q, a Swedish TV show also about detectives.

IDK, does not seem like I am missing much on Netflix. - @Marilyn Tassy
No, there's a lot of rubbish out there. I am having trouble keeping up with shows as there's too many other things to do now the weather has improved.
I was doing some cementing on the rock infill of my hi-tech birdbath, trying to repair the car radio (Bluetooth stopped working - needs a new module) and refixing my bird feeder. And then there's the grass cutting, general gardening and in-house tidying.
I also have to keep up with work related matters even though I actually don't have a job now. It's a fast moving field so I feel I still have to become familiar with new developments.
I obviously like to see shows from my own country or Europe. I'm currently watching mainly Gangs of London - Season 3 and This City is Ours. Both British crime dramas. There are some Swedish crime dramas on Netflix. I like the Swedish pace or specifically, the lack of it. It kind of comfortable to see that way of presentation.
I'm using the Vivaldi browser and now it's got a free VPN in it. Mostly it defaults to the USA. I can see some web sites via that. There are a lot of shows which never really get known over here. Maybe for good reason.

Nice one.
I'd like to see that movie poster with Trump saying - Implosion, The Trump Disaster. Maybe AI can help. Lot of parallels.
Looks like the arrogance of the main guy killed everyone. I read the reports and carbon fibre was known to delaminate under severe pressure. The result was inevitably "kaboom". Not trying to make light of it but at least they died instantly and without knowing what hit them. I am not sure what happened to their bodies but I expect their remains are scattered in the debris field.
How anyone could go into a sub is beyond me.
Did that sub ride at Disneyland and that almost did me in.
What seems worst are those cave divers.
Let us dive into a tiny narrow crevice with just enough oxygen to go in and out without any troubles.
They always get stuck, run out of air or enter the wrong chamber.
Saw a short documentary the other night where 3 amature drivers decided to dive in a well known dangerous cave at dusk.
One drove down the way way as they were leaving, ran out of air but stuck a diving knife into his own heart to avoid drowning!
What was even worst was 2 experienced divers went down to recover his body, one made the same mistake on his way out and ran out of air and drown.

I've actually been in a real submarine. It was one of those tourist subs that goes down maybe 50ft or so. In fact, there was one in an accident a while back. It wasn't the one I went in. Mrs F and I did it. I don't remember where but I think it was the Maldives. It wasn't cheap. It was actually quite boring. The worse thing is that most underwater things look flat and uninteresting down there as the sunlight is crap. It needs really good light to see the colours.
I've also done diving too and I have a license for it but it was quite a while ago I qualified. It's would be quite easy to panic down there if one has even a hint of claustrophobia. It's really quite a horrible to think of that. Panicking is the worst but it needs one to keep one's cool and that can be difficult. But one doesn't dive on one's own and I'd never do it alone, it's just too risky. Diving in caves or wrecks is specialist training. In other words, average tourist qualified divers don't do that. It's usual to go in groups and one has to be able to buddy up. It's pretty safe so long as you don't go down too far. My license allows me to go down to 20m (about 60ft) which means a stop at about 5m to decompress for 10 minutes if I remember correctly. One can drop weights and shoot to the surface and it'll probably be OK.
Last time I went, I was snorkelling, not diving. That was in the Pacific. I couldn't be bothered diving as it was just for messing around. It was in very calm water in a "special" location. We then did some snorkelling in the open sea but I didn't like that. Too windy and too rocky and too much hard work. Rip tides and currents will do you in.
Braver then I am!
50 feet down under, no thanks!
My eldest sister still has her scuba gear; Tanks and all, probably outdated now.
She used to dive often with her ex, they loved going to Jamaica to dive.
Funny, now she is a holy roller, well more like a weekly church goer etc;
In her 40s when they were into diving and Karate she had a wild side I did not know of.
She comes off prim and proper but what I found out blew my mind and still does considering I grew up with her and thought I knew her mind.
She once asked if my hubby and I wanted to join their group in Jamaica for an all inclusive holiday;
She made a point of mentioning everything was pre paid and there was no need to carry money.
Good thing about that since she later told me it was a nudist group!!!! What the heck????
Sounded a bit different to me, some crazy stuff about people dancing at night around a fire and people wearing see through nightgowns;
Why on earth did she even think we would be even slightly interested?? That is what blows my mind, she does not know us at all.
The society they kept was not our sort of people in any way!
They also used to set up one room in their home with gaming machines where 10 or more people could play at once,no way, never got past Pac Man!
Anyways , doubt she will be running wild in the raw in Jamaica ever again.

Oh yes, very good your sis had the gear. I still have the fins, mask, wet suit and watch. Taking cylinders and the other paraphernalia on the plane is hard work. No-one takes their cylinders of course. Might take other stuff. I have been thinking of getting a new wet suit as mine is a bit thin for depths. Even for Balaton. Needs to be thicker and more buoyant. Decathlon have some so I might have a look.
I was on a non-tourist island trip with Mrs F and we were picked up some locals (sent by someone official). We got in this rickety old car and were taken to somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. We were led through the bushes to a beach where there was an enormous bonfire and people dancing maniacally around it in weird costumes. It was really strange. Apparently no-one was usually invited to that weirdness - we managed to understand it was a privilege. OK, take your word for it. Luckily we weren't invited to participate - naked or otherwise or dress up. I still don't know what it was about as hardly anyone could speak English and after observing for 1h, we slipped away.
It's a bit weird if we were invited to dress up. It's a bit of an insult as a foreigner to wear national dress from a country. It'd be like turning up in Sioux territory dressed as a member of the tribe. It could be taken either way. I've seen white people dressing natively in Africa. Very odd thinking. Work guidelines I had said, don't do it! I have some shirts from Africa that are national dress. I've never had the guts to wear them. They look great on the locals at home but not sure they'd work for me in Budapest.

Clarkson's Farm is a British television documentary series about Jeremy Clarkson and his farm in the Cotswolds. The series documents Clarkson's attempts at running a 1,000-acre (400 ha) farm near Chipping Norton in West Oxfordshire. Described by Clarkson as "genuine reality television", the series has received positive reviews and has been praised for raising public awareness of the British farming industry on the international stage.
This is an excellent series about the realities of British farming, great cast and delivered with Clarkson's unique humour. Rates highly on the Fluffy Film O'Meter.

I notice quite a few movies are romantic dramas etc. Is there a theme there?
I'm all zombies, spaceships and whizz bang myself.
I was thinking about the asteroid movie posted the other day.
Coincidentally I had cause to watch Armageddon the other day as my afternoon entertainment. It's a stupid movie and of course showing its age given the relatively low amount of Bruce Willis hair loss. And clunky mobile phones etc and giant monitors on their desks. Ben Affleck was in it, looking just like he'd left college the week before. An altogether less serious movie than Deep Impact released the same year - Mrs F calls Elijah Wood "Frog Boy" due to his bulging eyes. Perhaps unfair. His eyes aren't that bulging. Whatever happened to him? Haven't seen him in anything since Lord of the Rings.

@fluffy2560
No theme, I pick a random film, then they play one after the other on Tubitv.com. ATM I'm tired of the news and just want something light-hearted and not depressing. In the evening I turn to Netflix and watch some serious dramas that I have to concentrate on.

Fair enough!
I'm sick of the news too. I do watch it - like the LA riots - but I'm almost exhausted trying to keep up and at Fluffy Towers, we have more pressing problems like our messed up Internet and some gardening/MIL house clearing work.
I'm struggling with some of the new dramas coming out. Dept Q on Netflix is a bit of a slog despite having high profile Scottish stars. I'm enjoying The Cleaning Lady Season 4 right now.
Anyone with an iPhone based camera, a decent PC and a couple of drones can make a movie now. Nothing wrong with that if there are original ideas in there somewhere.
I've been asking my daughter if she'd like to write a movie script with me and we'd film it but so far she's not taken the bait. She's too busy going to concerts etc. Uni exams over soon, so perhaps we'll get a chance over summer. I've got no talent whatsoever but I like to think I could come up with good ideas. Our daughter will be the one to turn it into something visual.
She did do a short art film on relationships on her phone which she presented in school. Her teacher said it was special. Of course, I'd agree with that! I think she'd do well to intern at one of the film studios. She says I should do it. Well, could do but I'd be the oldest intern ever! Almost 65! I was hoping to live that dream vicariously.

As I said before, I thought I'd spend the afternoon, watching The Alamo. I did it in chunks on and off in between doing domestic and garden work. It's a long film, 2h 40m. Cast of thousands. Apparently the common myths and descriptions of what went on at the Alamo are based around the movie adaptations. Historians disagree on the authenticity. Even so, it's got a strong cast with many great actors like Laurence Harvey.
