Lowering prices

After last week's protests against rising prices, the authorities are rethinking their policies. The Ministry of Commerce is currently reviewing the fixed profit margin on certain drugs, which is at 35% and should be revised downwards. These should include Doliprane, Fervez, Voltaren, Ventolin and other common drugs. Discussions are also underway to absorb the rise in world market prices for foodstuffs such as flour and rice.

As for the price of gasoline, Mauritian media reported that there were also discussions on a possible price drop. Namely that in Mauritius, several taxes are added to the price of gasoline, in particular those for subsidies on rice and flour as well as levies of Rs 2 for vaccines.

It would appear that the Gambling Regulating Authority (GRA) has not renewed the club's operating license. Therefore ? No races for the time being. Another organization, the People's Turf Plc, has reportedly already applied for a license.
