Will electricity prices increase?
A daily newspaper on the island announced this Friday, after the rise in fuel, vegetables and other food products' prices, electricity is likely to increase by 30%. The increase in prices on the international market is causing the Central Electricity Board (CEB) to consider reviewing its tariffs. No official source has confirmed this news to us, however.
Additional fees for pharmacists
A pharmacist can now demand payment not exceeding Rs 100 from any patient to whom he has given advice. The new regulation, which came into force on April 1, did not make consumers very happy. Also, pediatric flu medications seem to be out of stock right now in pharmacies. Antibiotics and paracetamol for children are particularly difficult to find.
Flights to Madagascar resume, more Emirates flights
Following the reopening of the borders between Mauritius and Madagascar, flights to and from this country have resumed. In addition, on April 9 and July 1, 2022, Emirates will operate nine flights in addition to one daily flight to Mauritius. From July, the frequency of flights will be twice a day.
