According to 34 000 city dwellers interviewed by TimeOut, New-York is the best city in the world! Melbourne and Chicago come next! Ranking is based on residents' feedback on food, drink, culture, affordability, overall life satisfaction and a few other factors.

New-Yorkers are mostly proud of their city for its diversity but also for the culture and dynamism. Indeed, the tolerance and acceptance of multiculturalism in New-York has come out as one of the best attributes of the city- it ranked first on this factor. New-York also ranked second for eating and drinking as well as nightlife but also ranked very high on a series of factors including fun, creativity, happiness and convenience.

Second place comes the most populous city in Australia: Melbourne. The reason why Melbourne ranks second is it's vibrant nightlife and creativity. TimeOut's study found that one in four Melburnians had been to a concert a week before answering the survey. Residents of Melbourne are also the second happiest city-dwellers on Earth and the city also ranks very high for food, drinks and multicuralism.

Residents of Chicago say they're the happiest and the proudest of their city! Indeed, Chicago ranks first on overall happiness and pride for their city. Is it because Chicago has the best food cities around the world have to offer? Because, yes, Chicago also ranks first for the food and drink factor. But residents of the city are also very health conscious as 52% of them cannot get through the week without exercise.

The city also feels very safe to its residents despite reports of rising crimes and 80% of respondents say they felt happy about living in London.
