Hi everyone,

I'm a soon to graduate student in Italy. Right now I have my permesso di soggiorno for studying purposes, as I am looking for job opportunities I'm a bit confused.
Can I move and work in another EU country with just the permesso di soggiorno? or what options do I have outside of Italy? I've been in Italy only 2 years so I think I cannot apply to the Carta di soggiorno just yet
Thanks for any info!

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The "permesso di soggiorno" is a temporary residence permit for Italy, nothing else.  Together with your valid passport, It does give you the opportunity to travel to other EU countries that have signed up to the Schengen agreement for a maximum of 90 days, but you may not work in any other EU nation.

Should you wish to work in another EU nation, then you will have to go through the same process(es) as any other similarly positioned national of your home country.

Hope this helps.
