Blue Card Application Process

auliaramadhan

Hello,

I have an offer to work in Brussels and the employer suggest me to apply for EU Blue Card. I am quite confused with the process. I am a Non-European National and currently reside in France.

According to this link: http://werk-economie-emploi.brussels/en … ard#bloc_1
in order to start working in Belgium I would need:
1. Temporary work permit (applied by the employer)
2. To be lawfully resides in Belgium ( have eligible Visa D)
3. applied for EU Blue Card

I am quite confused with number 3. According to different sites, I have to apply in the Belgium Consular Authority in my country of residence. However, I couldn't find the EU Blue Card application in the Belgium consular website.

Could anyone clarify this for me? Perhaps I looked in the wrong site.

Thanks !

Hello,

The problem is actually that your French employer and many French companies do not respect European legislation. EU Blue Card is a work permit issued by 25 out of 28 EU Member States to highly-qualified non-EU citizens. Introduced in 2007 by the European Commission, the Proposal became officially known and implemented in 2009 as the EU Blue Card Directive with intentions to stimulate economic development by making Europe a desirable destination for qualified workers to practice professional knowledge and skills as well as allowing free movement within the European Union for non-EU citizens.

The application for a European Blue Card should have been made from the outset.

Now you can ask directly online of yourself. No need to go to the consulate.

The blue card allows you to check if your diplomas are real. Once this verification is done, it allows you to be considered as a potential candidate for employment in the European area.

It is true that you will not find the connection for the application for a European Blue Card on the internal site of the Belgian Consulate. Because it is not a consular jurisdiction.

Could you explain more by "Now you can ask directly online of yourself. No need to go to the consulate."?

I couldn't find information of online application for Belgium from the link you provided.
