Family reunification – Asked for Bijlage-46, but we have Bijlage-15

Hello everyone,

My wife and I applied for family reunification. My wife originally came to Belgium through family reunification with her father. She had an A-card based on that status, but her card expired and she applied for a renewal. However, the renewal is still in process.

Today, the Immigration Office asked us to provide either an A-card or a Bijlage-46 document.

The problem is that she does not have a Bijlage-46 because she renewed her residence permit as a family member of her father. She only has a Bijlage-15 document. Her father has the Bijlage-49 instead of 15 or 46, while the other family members also hold Bijlage-15 documents. I’m not sure if this email is just an automatic standard template, or if they specifically wrote it for our situation.

Should we send the Bijlage-15 instead of the Bijlage-46, or should we wait until she receives her new A-card?

Thanks in advance.

Note: This is what the Immigration Office wrote in the email: "To continue the examination of the family reunification file, we request that you provide the following documents:

• A copy of your new A-card or Annex (Bijlage) 46.”
