I am a Belgian citizen that wants to relocate to Belgium at the end of the year with my common-law partner (A non Belgian citizen) - we currently live in South Africa. My question is whether or not the Family Reunification Visa requirement to provide sufficient income can be derived from a Work from Home/Work from Anywhere arrangement. I am currently employed by a large SA business that has a Remote working policy in place since COVID and allows remote working from anywhere (i.e. global footprint). It is my intention to continue working remotely (and will continue to be paid a salary in SA) but living in Belgium. I earn more than the minimum required to prove support for my common-law partner - I would, however, still need to be paid my salary into a South African bank account. Does anyone know if Remote work/salary not received in Belgium is accepted ? The Embassy here cannot advise as they tell me Belgium will decide at the time of application...his application will, however, be dependant on whether or not this is accepted these days. Thank you
