As summer comes to an end, don't miss out on these last few weeks of warm weather and sunshine. Check out the events happening in April that cater to all tastes.

Sports and Wellness

Nando's Open Water Swim

The Nando's Open Water Swim is a series of swimming races organized by the Royal Life Saving Society to curb the number of drowning deaths worldwide. It will be held on April 30th at Pereybere Beach. Tickets can be booked online here.

Family Constellations

Family constellations is a series of lectures, workshops, and retreats that focus on transgenerational trauma and mental well-being. It will take place in Tamarin from April 5th to 7th and will be led by facilitator Marc AHAVA Perugini. Further information can be found here.

Children and Family

Defying Gravity

A 2-hour juggling workshop for English-speaking youth aged 12 to 18 on April 29th at the Caudan Arts Center. All the info you need is here.

Storytime at IFM

A monthly meeting for parents and young children (up to 3 years old) that includes story reading for children and a workshop for adults on infant crying led by a midwife and childcare nurse. It will take place on April 7th at the media library of the Institut Français de Maurice (IFM).

Little Philosophers

A meeting for children aged 6 to 10 to talk about philosophy, with a focus on "Me and Others" on April 7th at the media library of the IFM. More information here.

Art and Culture

Joy Festival

A music and gastronomy festival on the beach of La Cuvette in Grand-Baie from April 28th to 30th with international and local artists. More information here.

Mama Jaz

A festival dedicated to creative music and jazz in various locations on the island from April 2nd to 30th. More information here.

Classical Music Festival

A series of concerts at the Caudan Arts Center from April 6th to 8th, featuring violin and piano recitals, as well as classical tango. Find more information here.

Equinoxes

A show presented by the Jean Fanchette Association and the Equine Situ Company that combines poems, equestrian performances, operatic singing, and piano pieces. It will take place at the Château de Labourdonnais on April 26th, 27th, and 28th. Tickets can be purchased by email.

Lundi c'est (p)arty

“Lundi c'est (p)arty" is a monthly event open to resident or visiting artists in Mauritius. On April 3rd, the event will take place at the IFM and showcase local and international artists in a friendly atmosphere. The artists will present their creations and interact with the audience during this festive evening. Admission is free.

Planet R'

Visit the art exhibit happening at l'Aventure du Sucre for a year from the 17th of March 2023. The theme of the expo is the 5Rs of waste reduction : Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Return to soil (compost). The exhibit is an educational and artistic one and is open to all and free.
