Over 7,000 cases of seasonal flu have been reported in just one week, while COVID-19 cases are also on the rise. Also in the news, a drop in the number of tourist arrivals has been recorded in June 2022.

Seasonal flu: Over 7,000 positive cases in just a week

7,257, more precisely. This is the number of seasonal flu cases recorded between the 4th and the 11th of July by the Ministry of Health in the general hospitals and regional health centers. This is a rise of 1,000 cases compared to the previous week. The Ministry of Health has also registered a rise in the number of cases of bronchitis among children and babies.

At the same time, COVID-19 cases are also on the rise. According to official figures, 226 cases and 19 admissions in hospitals were registered as of the 1st of July, and 309 cases and 35 admissions were reported as of the 8th of July. It is thought that the new Omicron subvariant could be a reason for this rise.
