Linzy Bacbotte first became known through the reality shows Star 2000 and Sofe Ravann. The latter performed songs that dazzled the Mauritian public at the time. The young woman's voice quickly got noticed and she released her very first album in 1997. The album is called Sofe Linzy and includes the cover of the song Tangale which has since been a sega classic ever since. At the same time, Linzy Bacbotte also performed in hotels on the island.
