So you think you've seen all of Flic-en-Flac? Yes, Flic-en-Flac is one of the largest beaches in Mauritius and you can't possibly enjoy every bit of its beach in just one day. But even if you have already done all of that, what if we tell you there's more to Flic-en-Flac than just the beach? Follow us to Flic-en-Flac!

The beach, obviously!

Flic-en-Flac is one of the largest beaches in Mauritius… and maybe the most popular too. It stretches more than three kilometres from behind the Villa Caroline hotel to Wolmar which is the next beach. You can enjoy the main public beach area where there are little kiosks for you to be sheltered from the sun, or you can enjoy the rest of the beach which tends to be a little less crowded. There are indicated swimming spots but the sea in Flic-en-Flac tends to be mostly safe and more importantly, beautifully turquoise. It is also an amazing spot for a jog with an incredible view on the bay of Tamarin, the Tourelle du Tamarin and the Le Morne mountain.

The food!

Flic-en-Flac is also a perfect spot for foodies. What do you fancy today? You can find Indian food, Italian food, Sino-Mauritian food, pub food and street food in Flic-en-Flac. There are a couple of must-try restaurants in Flic-en-Flac like the restaurant Ah-Youn offering Sino-Mauritian food, Chez Pepe, an Italian restaurant, the Roti Aka caravan which offers some of the best roti of the island with your filling of choice topped with tamarind sauce and the Jeanno caravan offering burgers, wraps and paninis for everyone to enjoy.

The secret beach

So you think you've enjoyed every inch of the beach in Flic-en-Flac? Well, what if we said we had not! Indeed, there exists a little beach behind Anelia Resort in Flic-en-Flac that you ought to try. The sea there is bordered by rocks but a little “natural” pool has been arranged by the resort in the sea itself. You can enjoy a swim in the clear blue waters and a sunset from there. But if you do not want to swim, this is a place that a lot of people enjoy for its quiet and calm for a little meditation or a workout.

The Cactus spot

This one is found right behind the Domaine Anna and is a hotspot for photoshoots. It is a cliff so you cannot swim there but the view is incredible, especially at sunset. The place is also full of Cactus plants which makes it a good place for photos.

The bonus spot

Expat.com is letting you in on a secret. You can find the most beautiful waterfall and pool nestled in a giant cliff in Flic-en-Flac. The water in the pool is green because of the trees surrounding the pool and the place is commonly referred to as “Bassin vert” (Translation: Green pool). The entry to this spot is through Bambous. There is an off-road track to La Mecque stone crusher in Bambous and behind this is the path to the bassin. You will also need to climb down a cliff so we suggest you wear proper shoes.
