Hi,

This is an excerpt from an email conversation with Julien.
I would like to know what you think about those features.

Longitude and latitude informations per blog.
This would be generated by clicking on a local map of the country you are living.
With this information, we could generate a list of the closest blogs. That could be helpful both for readers and bloggers. Readers would easily find more information about the same area, and bloggers (and future expatriates) could use this to get in touch with other expatriates.

WebRings per country or per nationality

This could be a classic webring or a block displaying the most recents post from similar countries or expatriates of the same nationality (or language).

Per country Wiki for general informations
A Wiki could be used to provide information about a given country for future expatriates or newly arrived expatriates.
* Insurance system,
* How to find a job,
* Taxes...

Widgets for friends and the family of expatriates
local : country where the expatriate is,
remote : country where the expatriate (or his familiy, friends) is from.

* local and remote times,
* change rate between local and remote money,
* Local and remote weather forecast.

Well that's about it.

Very, very good ideas Kenji

About the latitude and longitude, it's a very interresting feature, but I might not have enough time to develop it in the next few months ... But everything's possible

The webrings per nationality is a very good idea, and it would'nt be very complicated to develop, so I might work on that as soon as possible.

A wiki per country is also a very good idea, but will most of the people be able to add their contribution? (isn't it too complicated for non-IT specialists?)

About the widgets for friends and family this is very interresting too!

Kenji, I hope we'll speak very soon about all those functionnalities. I am actually quite busy at the moment (I am working in London until the end of this week), but I'll have more time once I'll be back in Spain

How about a RSS feed? PunBB seems to have that functionality.
I use a feed aggregator for all the blogs and news sites I read. It would be great to be able to see the latest Expat-Blog posts on there as well...
