Why stereotype?

A group of people was sitting together and chatting with one another. One of them left the group and a guy within the group started talking about the one who just left who was from the X-country. The guy in the group said that people from that X-country are not nice …etc. How can this guy say such a thing without knowing the other one from the X-country personally? He merely judged the other guy solely on the basis that he is from that X-country. Why stereotype people? Do you think it’s fair?

Whilst it is unfair, so many people do hold stereotypes! These are sometimes based on first hand experience of knowing other people from a particular background, race or culture. But in my opinion are always based on ignorance!!!

I believe there is good and bad in all races, creeds, colours and religions. Whether someone is "nice" or not depends on who they are as a person, not on their Nationality, Sex, Gender or Race.

people do that, many of them.they even say the same thing to a person from their own origin, and indirectly pointing at themselves.
i have seen many kinds of people, some totally ignore, some talk behind ,some are kind in the beginning and later stab at persons heart and some are good in nature, but when money comes in,their decisions turn.it mostly happens to impress someone and to get rid of other ones.

stereotypes are always used as anecdotes, they are an exaggeration of the faults of the few, multiplied to reflect the many. educated people know taht these claims have no truth or weight to them, and like ace said, there are plenty of self-loathers out there.

as Denis's motto goes, remember you are unique, just like everybody else.

sticks and stones can break your bones, but words can never scratch.

so long as people can draw a line between sterotypes and downright racism, all will be well.
