Pat

Hi! I found this site this morning and immediately felt like joining. Sounds very interesting!

I'm a French guy from a multicultural family: 2 Spanish grand-parents (who used to travel a lot), 1 French grand-father and 1 Polish grand-mother (I know hardly anything about Poland though). I guess I've inherited nomade genes!

I started living abroad when I was a student: 1 year in Bristol (UK), 6 months in Charleroi (Belgium). Then I moved to Brussels, spent 6 years over there (with a 3-month interruption in Barcelona). Now I've been in Bologna (Italy) for 1 year. I'll probably move back to Brussels some time this year. Unless I find a job opportunity somewhere else...

I like to think I'm an European based in the capital city who often travels within the country :D

See you on the forum!

Julien

Welcome on board Pat!

Have you ever thought about living outside Europe one day?

All the best,

Julien

Jo Ann

Welcome Pat! :)

Pat

Thanks :)

Yes, I'd certainly love to live outside Europe. Sooner or later I will...

Jo Ann, I liked your introduction message. I'm gonna tell why directly in that thread.

By the way, I didn't find out how to insert flags in my messages / signature

Julien

It's a bit technical actually, I should make a program to generate your signature (it's on my to-do list)

Pat

Yes, you should :P

By the way, I read in another thread an allusion to your Perpignan accent. Ets realment de Perpinyà?

Julien

I'll do that as soon as I'll have all the required equipment... I am just back in France, and I haven't got the adsl at home (I have to sort this out very soon!)

Si Pat, soc catala de catalunya nort! :D

Adiu ;)

Pat

OK, don't worry (anyway I'm quite busy myself reading all the topics)
Above all: enjoy your holiday

Hé, hé, sem pertot! Els nord-catalans a la conquesta del mon ;)

Julien

Where did you actually grow up Pat?

Pat

Mostly in a village near Paris. But I've always felt more from Perpignan even though I didn't stay there long (I wasn't born there either!). It's a bit strange to feel attached to a region where I hardly ever return (I haven't visited my family since 2003) and where I'll certainly never live again (don't feel like it). But strange things are better than logical ones, aren't they?

Julien

I am born in Paris but I really feel from the south of France (I grew up here). My strong accent reminds me where I am from everyday :D

If you're around one day, drop me an email, if I am here too we'll have a nice Banyuls :)

Pat

I'm back... no longer in Bologna. I'm getting ready to move to Barcelona (for now I'm moving a lot, mainly in Belgium and Spain)

I have removed the flags of the shorter periods from my signature because it was becoming a bit messy!!!

Julien

Barcelona is fantastic I'm sure you'll enjoy the city :D

Pat

Yep, I worked there for 3 weeks in 2000 and loved it!

Jo Ann

Welcome back! ;)
And well, if the weather is the same as this side of the Mediterranean, you still can go to the beach! :P

Pat

Thanks! Glad to hear from you again!

Yes, I had a holiday in Spain at the beginning of the month. I had a few dips in the sea and got more tanned than this summer
