I saw that you have Ahmadi in your profile.
Been there only once :)

no dear .. al ahmady is like a "state" or "district"

it contains many areas ... like
almangaf - abu hulaifa - riqqa - hadiya - al fontaas - ...etc

i'm i'm riqqa area :) .. less than 10 min between us ;)

Dear NicoleB,
How about some tips for staying cool during this weather:
1-Wear cool clothing: See that the person is dressed in light-weight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing, preferably of natural fabrics like cotton. Use hats and umbrellas outside.

2-Use air conditioning: Keep the air conditioning on below 80 degrees F. If you don't have air conditioning, invest in a room air conditioner or use room fans to circulate inside air.

3-Cover windows: During the day, pull the curtains on all windows that are in direct sunlight. Open windows at night and use fans or cross-ventilation to circulate cooler air. (An open, uncovered window during the day will simply make the inside temperature the same as outside.)

4-Avoid direct sun: Stay indoors during the hottest hours, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drive as close to the door of destinations as possible, but don't leave the person in the car where temperatures can soar quickly. If the person wants to be outside, make sure it's during cooler hours and that he or she is in the shade, on a covered porch, or under an umbrella. Also check the news for information about temperatures, humidity levels and air pollution alerts.

5-Drink plenty of fluids: Give the person plenty of water and fruit or vegetable juice even if they say they're not thirsty. No alcohol, coffee or tea. Seek medical help if you suspect dehydration.

6-Take cool showers: Help the person take a cooling shower or bath. Lay a cool, moistened towel over the forehead or back of the neck and replace often.

7-Be alert: Remember that a cognitively-impaired person may not be able to tell you when he or she is feeling hot or ill. Also, older people tend to feel colder than younger people so they may not sense the danger of hotter weather.

Thank you and Take care,,,

Ah, thanks, I sort of knew but forgot ;)

But there is a place called Ahmadi too, no?
Where the main Ahmadi police station is at. Or does that area have a different name? (It's been 3 years, so my brain forgot ;) )

Good tips, but tell me where I get cold water for the shower :D!

Yes it called Ahmadi too.

sure

my freind is living there :) .. it's 15 min far away

i'll tell something good ... ahmadi is the first area that western lived in once they came to work in kuwait since forever .. it was safe place .. and still :)
that was for foreign " US and british " who worked in the oil company "KOC"

so you still can see some of the western style in some houses in there

but now the western company see the it would be safer if foreign "workers" to live in a complex which is been rented just for them .. and i think this is better too :) cause living with arabs is a little comlecated

so going back to the main subject hehe

i thik it is 43 degree now .. it's sunny stright on my head :\

My friend showed me those houses.
They look a bit different now, but some still look like above.
I thought it a beautiful place :)
Thanks for sharing the pics :)!
