Dear Bloggers:

I am beginning the process of getting a Visa and passport. What was your experience with the overall process (consulate, government workers in U.S. and/or France, effort required, etc.)? I intend to apply for a long-stay visa. Are visas often denied?

No probs for me getting my Working Holiday Visa in Australia... bit of paper work to get through but you expect that in France.

Hi Jo Ann,

I am planning to move there permanently but I am not sure what I want to do, exactly, beyond getting a stable job. I will be graduating from college soon and I have always wanted to live abroad. Based on what I know about France, I think it will be a good idea.

After college I will have a degree in anthropology and sociology and would prefer to work in my field(s)but, I am not sure if my credentials will be accepted in another country.
