I wanna help a friend to leave the philippines for France

Hi, I'm 21, French male,

I wanna help my friends from philippines to get here with me in france, we are looking for informations on internet but we are very confused with all the informations and if it is really acceptable by the immigration.

That's why I'm asking here, from someone's experience on how to get in france. she would like to stay here for good and I know she can work near my place.

Should we get a work visa or a tourist visa and then find her a work so she can stay ?

Please answer me.

Thanks in advance.

It'll be very hard getting a work and a resident permit. Unless she has a special skills, and gets a job thanks to that. And even then, she has to have the job before applying. Is she your girlfriend? You can get pacsed

she is a specialist in aviation maintenance. I know someone close to me that can hire her to help me get her in france. she is my girlfriend, i already went to philippines to meet her and her family (2 months)

She needs her work contract in order to ask for a long term visa ,the consulate will give you an up to date list of the required papers. She'll need a salary equal 1.5 of smic, and the job needs to be related to her diplomas  It's not the easiest way to come

what visa would be the easiest to take ? knowing the philippines gov is really difficult in terms of immigration... she told me that one of her friend took 2 tickets, one to singapour as a cover from phillipines immigration and one for dubai so he won't have any problem going there because philippines immigration doesn't want filipino to leave Asia as tourist... But I'm not really reassured about it...

Do you really think leaving the Philippines is a problem?  I don't know. Anyway, the visa is given by French authorities. A student visa might be easier. She can enrol in a language course. Or a tourist visa. If you live together in France, she can apply for a family members visa after some time. But in that case, you need to get a PACS -or get married, but you are young! So maybe not that .

I see, thanks for your help, I know the philippine immigration at airport is very strict according to her... if she apply for a long stay visa, is it possible to get another one to stay longer in france after the first one is expired?

It's possible, although difficult. Take a look at the prefecture website,it will give you an idea of the different possibilities.

Thank you, Talatta, really helps.

If anyone from philippines wanna share their experience to get in france, please, tell me here :)

Bonjour Justin!

Getting a tourist visa wont allowed her to work here in France , she will need a long stay visa that will autorise her to work and live in France. Getting married will be the easiest to get a visa but its also a long process , but once she is married it will be easy to get a visa as long as she have all the requirements needed to apply for a visa.

It's not well known, but PACS also allows to get a permit, depending on where. By marriage it's a right,by pacs it's up to each prefet. Here in Hérault where I live,it's granted. But resident permit by pacs supposes 12 months of living together, marriage only 6.
And,everybody: you do not need a long term visa or a resident permit to get married in France.

Hello to you!
I am also a Filipina living here in France.
Things will be very complicated to ask a visa to be here in your country. If you were the host you have to declare capability. If you do really want to invite your friend first you must print the letter of appication. This is the application for shengen visa. You may see in the form what visa type do you need. Its more alot easy it you attach your documents plus her..Because there are some portion in the application asking where to stay and how was the accommodation exactly is? And until when? Then you can print a copy of your and her document submit it in the Maire of your town and I know you will wait for the signature approval  of the mayor in 1 to 2 months evaluation...this is the another legal way of inviting your friend and get a visa. Then you will file those papers in OFII..This is the way I can share.

Hi!

I recently moved here in France from the UK. But im originally from the Philippines. I just got married in Brest June 2018 with my French Husband. If you are really sure about your girl and start a life with her the best way is to get married in France. I applied for tourist visa at the French embassy in Manila and in a week they granted me the visa to come. I didn't mention about my wedding as it will make things complicated. We got married in less than a month of my stay since we were in touch with city hall staff for our plan wedding. I have been given short stay visa valid for 1 year but can only allowed to stay in france for 3 months maximum. But sinceI got married I don't need to go back to the Philippines to apply for long stay visa. I was reading so many forums here saying the need to return to the home country and apply for long stay visa then get stamps and then to OFFI. We went to the Prefecture and requested for my residence permit which I am waiting up to now.

We talked to an official at the prefecture saying I just have to wait for my permit then I can start looking for a job.

Hello there!

I am a Filipina, been living my whole life here in the Philippines and finally moving to France for work next week. As far as my experience went, it was a painful process at least  for long stay visa (Salaried) It took me and my employer 9 months to get all documentation done. That includes both requirements there in France (DIRECCTE, OFII) and here in the Philippines (Visa, POEA, etc).

I can see that you wanted to go with the work visa route, as you mentioned you know someone who can hire her. Basics first, she needs to secure a contract from her employer. The employer will use this contract to seek approval from DIRECCTE. In here, her employer will prove to DIRECCTE that they were unsuccessful in hiring the same skillset within France and within the Schengen Area. Once this is approved, application is sent to OFII then OFII sends it to the French Consulate here in the Philippines for invitation for Long Stay Visa Application.

Requirements for the Visa are pretty standard. The French consulate outsourced their front desk operations to VFS Global. So they get your requirements, etc. Here's what she needs:

1.  Convocation letter (to be sent by the French Consulate to her Email. It's like an invitation letter)
2.  One  long  stay  visa  application  form  (attached)  both  sides  filled, dated and signed
3.  One  passport  sized  photo  (white  background)  attached  to  the application form
4.  Current  and  previous  passports  with  photocopies  of  all  pages containing personal information, visas and stamps
5.  Employment certificate from previous employers
6.  Employment  Certificate  with  salary  and  date  hired  (if  currently employed)
7.  Duly filled-out Demande d'attestation OFII (enclosed)

Visa takes about two weeks, and costs around 99 USD plus processing fee. All in all, I paid aroung PHP 8k.

So moving on, let's say she got her long stay visa - salarie - already. Next up, POEA. I hate to say this but every single OFW can attest that this is the most difficult part hehe. Let's get to it. If you're wondering what she needs to obtain from POEA, it's the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) This document needs to be presented to the Immigration Officers upon departure. Again, this is only for those visas with "SALARIE". Immigration officers won't ask for this document if you're using a short stay visa aka tourist visa. So here's what she needs to gather as requirements:

Phase 1:
1. Passport with validity of at least 6 months
2. Valid Work Visa
3. Employment Contract verified by POLO
to be done by your employer (POLO is in Geneva, Switzerland) -- actually this was only supposed to be verified by Philippine Embassy in Paris. But when I emailed them, they redirected us to POLO. If approved, they will return the same set of documents (including your contract, employer's business permit, etc. but compiled in a stamp and red ribbon) to your employer. Then your employer will send it to you via courier. Piece of advice: Tell your employer not to ship via post office because it will take forever.
4. POLO endorsement Letter -- Already included in Step 3
5. Company Profile (Screenshots of the Company Website - About Us, Mission/Vision will do)
6. Certificate of Employment from past employers
7. Diploma and Transcript of Records
8. Proof of Certificate of Insurance (Specifically coverage for Repatriation of Remains)
9. Notarized Statement of how she was able to find the work in France

Phase 2:
10. Valid Medical Certificate from DOH-accredited medical clinics (Medical Exam)
11. Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (POES) Certificate (Can be accomplished online through POEA website)
12. Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) Certificate (She needs to attend this seminar by OWWA in the POEA bulding premises. Only when she's done with the first phase)
13. POEA Clearance (Basically this is a notice to workers posted by POEA when she has passed the first phase. Names are posted here)

Please ask her to have two white long folders with her. And all documents should have a photocopy. Once she's done with Phase 2 as well, she will need to pay 125 USD then the OEC will be given to her. Upon submission of complete documents from Phase 1, it will take her a week to complete this. 2 weeks the most.

Then she's ready to fly out after that. I hope this helps! Feel free to ask for any clarifications.
