I am a Canadian moving to Almaty in about a month. I have lived in Canada, Indonesia, Oman and Angola. I would appreciate any information you might have about living in Almaty.. and especially what things you would bring with you for a family of 4 with children in both elementary and junior high school.

We are moving for professional reasons. My husband has accepted a position in Almaty. We are preparing our things to be shipped and like every other location, just curious about what we won't find there.. so we can put it in the shipment.
