Hi admin/ moderator.

I signed up yesterday and I am not able to use the search feature. This is not very pleasant. I have not learn exactly how to navigate through the forum and the search feature is very important.

I wish to see the replies to my virgin post in this forum but i am not able to find. With the non-existence of search features, it's vitually impossible for me to find my post.

I hope there is some technical errors and not because i'm not white thus there are closed doors for me. Thank you.

Christine

notyourexpat, just to let you know, this kind of message is very insulting to us.

A lot of expats are not white. This forum is here to bring all nationalities together no matter what colour or religion.

This forum is very useful for new expats in a new country. It does take a little time to learn your way around the site as does any site when you are new to it.

I find that clicking on "home" or "my profile" leads me to exactly where I want to be.

May I suggest that you take some time to learn your way around this site before launching into the founders and his team in the way you did. I'm sorry to say that thousands of people use this site and know how to navigate around it.

I would also highly recommend asking for help before criticising the management. I have been in contact with people from all over the world and never seen anyone getting a different treatment because of their nationality. At the end of the day, we are all here to help each other - and as Jo said, most expats are not white. White, black, brown, yellow - they are all just colours. We are just here to help people who ask for help.

Hello notyourexpat,

I find it utterly amazing that someone who has JUST joined Expat-blog and therefore hasn't even had time to look around at the content of the numerous forums would be making statements insinuating any kind of racism here.

If you bother to look around a little bit you will find that Expat-blog is the least racist site you will probably ever find on the internet. The Expat-blog Team takes racism and any kind of racist remarks quite seriously and you have no idea at all just how many members are banned for making any such remarks.

I think you should probably re-examine your own situation, if you are seeing racism at every turn there is something terribly wrong and it indicates you are feeling persecuted or are like many others who simply try to use race as a shield.

I am the Animator in a nation that is predominantly black and I also deal with members from all over the world, the vast majority of whom are "non-white" as you put it. As far as I am concerned NOBODY here on the blog has a color and I can assure you that in the years that I've been a member I have never seen anyone being mistreated by our Administration. I find your remark very offensive and I think you owe the entire Administration Team an apology.

Sincerely,
William James Woodward - Brazil Animator, Expat-blog Team

Ok, finally, i manage to find my way back here.

Firstly, if anyone finds my remark offensive, my utmost sincere apology. I did not mean to insult anyone of any creed. It is just my bad experience that I suffer alot of racism because I am yellow, I actually was defending my skin colour. I am not out to offend anyone. I wanna emphasize, it's becuase i am yellow, I suffer alot of racism. I am not a racist and I DO NOT condone any racism, just like members here.

Next, if 'Showing all my post' is enabled in my account, I wouldn't be ranting out here. It is because, ALL the search features is disabled to my use. I am not able to use ANY search feature. How frustrating is that. So is anyone able to help me enable all the search features that I am entitled to use, PLEASE?

Last but not least, I want to apologise for any unpleasant feeling that I may have caused with my post, I am willing to suffer a temporary ban with my account to appease the Admin/ Moderator/ any other members might suggest.

Cheers

James

Hello notyourexpat,

I thank you for having the courage to come back to this posting and apologize for your words, which were obviously spoken without a great deal of forethought.

You will find that you will NEVER have to defend yourself or your color here on Expat-blog because hundreds of us will be here to do that for you. We do not tolerate racism here so the moment somebody starts other members will jump to your defense to be sure.

Regarding search, click on your Profile and scroll down to the bottom of the page you will find "Show all posts" clicking on that you will get a listing of all your postings. If for any reason that does not work then in the drop-down menu for Profile you will see SUBSCRIPTIONS. Clicking that will also bring up a list of all your postings.

Cheers,
William James Woodward - Brazil Animator, Expat-blog Team
