well, seems like its more expensive than I thought....2500Rs for a bungalow per day is around £50 if Im not wrong....so let me rewrite my question. What is the cheapest accommodation available in Mauritius around Grand Bay or Pereybere? Im not alooking for a paricular name (unless you know one) but an idea....would it be a hostel, guesthouse, privately rented room or something....

I asked for bungalow cause I used to travel a lot around Southeast Asia and this sort of accommodation was always the best choice! Seems like it may no be the case in Mauritius...

Also as I have written before im planning to go on holiday (backpacking style - may also visit Reunion Island if I manage) so how long would you recommend me to stay? As I said I wanna have a look around, get some tan, have a bit of fun but not get bored by staying too long.

I have also read about pretty much everyone renting a car over there....is ti safe? can you trust the rental company or they will try to make you pay for some "damage" you have never done?
