I'm not an expat in Germany - but I'm living in Germany.
It depends on the job you want to practise.
If you work in the kitchen of McDonalds they're not impressed if you can speak perfect French and English.
If you want to do something more pretentious it's usefull to speak different languages.
If you want to move near to the French border it's really good to speak French. In other parts of Germany it's not so necessary.
If you want to work in tourism business it's an advantage to speak French and English.
Unnecessary to say that it's important that you can speak German.
