Hello, I (female) am a holder of the Niederlassungserlaubnis, and I've been living in Germany for the past 8 years. I have been in a long distance relationship with my Girlfriend for 5 years and I would like to invite her to come live with me.
We don't have any registered civil partnership since the country where she resides (and where I come from) does not allow us to marry or register ourselves as a couple.
Anyone has any idea if I could bring her here?
De-facto relationships are not recognised for visa purposes. If you cannot marry her in her or your country, try another one - and apply for a family reunion visa after that!
Contrary to what Beppi wrote; it does seem to be possible. The thing is that just being a boyfriend/girlfriend is not enough. One has to be married - or to enter a contractual relationship as a same-sex person that is basically equivalent to marriage. It means one has to be single to do so and there are many legal consequences. So it is like one getting a fiancé visa with the intention to marry. The following link is from authorities in Berlin but I think it applies equally throughout Germany.

Further reseach showed the follwoing from the German Immigration Authority website (BAMF) ;
"You are also entitled to take up work if you come to Germany for the purposes of family reunification. Spousal reunification naturally also applies to same-sex civil partnerships."
@anonymousfos Hi I read somewhere that one can also invite girlfriend or boyfriend for germany its call lebenspartner..rather than wife or husband. when you will fill form.. you can mention the relationship.
It should work.
Same gender relationships are also respected and recognised in Germany
Tom: Yes, a registered partnership is also possible - if the couple's home countries offer that concept (which is not the case here).

Not quite right. Whether it is the same gender or different, there is a significant legal difference between married and just a friend. And as far as I understand it, same-sex unions can be recognized and given the status of marriage although it is offically called something else in Germany. But again, one has to have the recognized legal commitment. If it has not been made yet but is intended then one gets a fiance visa which allows entry and then residency status dependent on formalizing the relationship. Like for male/female partners planning to marry, the marriage or legal union must offically take place and within a certain time.
