Hi,
I've recently moved to Germany and my wife will join me soon. I have a job and I am covered under the public health insurance.

My wife has no job in Germany, but she has the opportunity of keeping her job in Romania and working remotely. The big question is - can she get coverage under the private health insurance system if she's working remotely for a Romanian company?

What about the private one? The only health condition that's worth mentioning is a herniated disk.

Contact your insurer and ask if she can be included as your dependent (free of charge), as she has no income that triggers a requirement for her own insurance ("sozialversicherungspflichtiges Einkommen" in buerocrat-speak).
Private insurance costs more and is usually more trouble, too, especially with a pre-existing condition.
