I was married

Post new topic

Ronmol

My question is. I was married to German citizen. I am currently living in Aurich, Germany. I have been married since august 04. Last year I lost my job. My marriage is over. In august my residence permit will be up for renewal. What will happen to me then? Will I be forced to move back to the USA? Also my finacial situation is not good.

I am still a little bit in shock about my marriage ending. Just looking for information as much as I can so I can weigh my options.

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know you can stay legally in Germany for 3 months.
Then you need a Visa.
Have you tried contacting the embassy?

Ronmol

I sent them an email and haven't heard back yet. I will call them tomorrow.

Thanks.

Is that you in the picture?

NicoleB

Best call them.
They are not very, uhm, responsive re emails in any embassy it seems.

Yes, that's me, why?
