Family reunification
@Gurbetciadayi
I see.
We are both non-EU.
The timeline with Belgian sponsors in officially 6 months max. so makes sense.
found out through lawyer that file was closed by the Embassy. immigration office was working on the file and didnt know. Embassy refused to reopen file so application file could be finalized. Have to reapply from start, monies spend on fees are not refunded, not given a reason as to why or a written letter from Embassy . Lawyer said nothing we can do but reapply. Paid the fees, travelled to embassy for biometrics , spouse lives on residence card already. Was born in Belgium, receives pension from Belgium, entire family leaves in Belgium, married 42 years and medical, financially, non criminal eligible. 8 months we waited for the D-Visa to find this out. This is mentally a nightmare - to be separated months on in. Feeling defeated.

Could you please tell me how long it took from your application to the final approval? Thank you in advance.
@Hawaicoul22389
Thank you There were 4 days left until the 6 months and the approval came, but the children had missing documents. We submitted them yesterday to VFS Global (by hand delivery). I am waiting for the approval now, but the passport has not arrived yet.
Hello everyone, children's visas were approved today. 2 days after the missing documents were submitted, and passports will be hand-delivered from VFS Global on Monday. Good luck everyone.

@Grace Great
Hi ,
Good to know that you too have applied for the Belgium family reunification visa on July as well.
It is now 6 months from the date of application. Could you please let me know if you have received any response so far?

2) they referred it to the Immigration Office on August 14,
3) it was entered into the system on August 22.
4) On January 8, we received notice that the decision was made on January 7 to let the consulate could approve our application if we provide another document.
5) And our visas were approved today on January 12.

Yes both of us are non EU
My application page is change
In afwachting ontvangst van documenten die de visumaanvraag ondersteunen en die door de Belgische diplomatieke/consulaire post per diplomatieke valies verzonden wordt.
now change like that. Can be negative after that ?
Application date: 8 September 2025
Registiration date: 18 September 2025
Both non EU.
Did anyone get update who applied in September?
@Brahim Nouressalem
I think visa application with non eu takes time
have you tried sending email to ibz
can you track it
EU citizens DON'T need visas!
@Bems1
Yes indeed, i know it, takes time , I just wanted to know which month IBZ is treating now.
Sending an Email is useless i guess for now because its within the 9 months legal time still.
the status is stil in treatment in the ibz portal.
I don’t really know which month they’re giving visas
I don’t really know which month they’re giving visas - @Bems1
They give visas throughout the year; there is no particular month.
@SimCityAT
What I meant is which month is being treated now by IBZ July/August/Septembre to take an idea about how long we should wait more.
I still see the same notice on my file.
In afwachting ontvangst van documenten die de visumaanvraag ondersteunen en die door de Belgische diplomatieke/consulaire post per diplomatieke valies verzonden wordt.
They have not requested any additional documents. I asked twice, and even after more than one month there is still no information. On March 9 it will be six months since my application. My girlfriend is Belgian and we applied for a marriage visa. When I emailed, they was told the decision was postponed on January 13. When my girlfriend contacted them, thet was told it was postponed on January 31. They are not giving any information about how long the postponement will last. I’m going crazy from the uncertainty.
@yigitmagnus
With the look of things yours will take time because of the salary and the house
@yigitmagnus
Yes maybe you can get immigration lawyer
but why didn’t go with a tourist visa and later do the cohabitation
because her salary is below the expected amount
@Bems1
But they need to answer in 6 months right? - @yigitmagnus
It doesn't always work that way; if they have so many cases to work on, there is only so much time in the day.

Why waste the money on an immigration lawyer?
