Sorry brother i am somehow not able to reply your message. I submitted my requested documents at 3 am October 1st and at 9 30 am got the aprroval emal
Hello everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can share their experience or advice ❗
My visa dossier status on the IBZ portal changed on 23 September 2025 asking additional documents. But no email then I received mail on 26th & on 27 th all docs sent and I'm still waiting
When I followed up by email, IBZ replied with the following message:
> “The relevant department took a decision to postpone 23/09/2025 due to additional investigation. The relevant department in Brussels or the diplomatic post abroad will further contact the person if additional information or documents are needed.”
My questions:
What exactly does “decision to postpone due to additional investigation” mean in practice? Another 3 months?
Or is this a standard, generic response while they review the extra documents I already submitted?
If anyone has been in a similar situation, I’d be very grateful to hear how long it took for you
Thanks in advance!
@Abhimanyu_143 If you are Non Belgian IBZ can extend the process by three months and then further by 3 months more, if they need further investigation. There was one more case on this forum in the past
Dear all,
I just got my Annex 46 and started the process to apply for a D-type visa. I am planning to apply together with my wife. I have some questions regarding the online VOW form. I hope you can help me.
In 21. Current occupation, should I put my future job in Belgium or my last job (I just finished my last contract (I am in Germany right now), and I am currently unemployed)?
In 30. Host or accommodation, is an Airbnb fine? For how long is it necessary to book the accommodation?
Thanks in advance for any help
I could not find any information on forum so creating new thread.
We have submitted additional documents requested by ibz 2 weeks back but still no update. I have seen all post where they take decision within 2 days after submitting documents. Does anyone faced this type of issue before ? Any idea on timeline? Applied in April month.
Additional doc- payslips and rental contract. Thank you in advance. Your input would really help me.
@Abhimanyu_143
First of all, people here have already said many times that you shouldn’t create new threads. There are already many topics about family reunification, you can just ask your question there.
Second, the idea that IBZ gives a decision “within 2 days” is completely not true. I don’t know where you read that, but it’s not correct at all.
Third, you didn’t even mention where you applied, in Belgium or abroad. If it’s in Belgium, you will never get a decision earlier than 6 months. If it’s from abroad, it can be faster, but still 6 months is a realistic timeline.
And honestly, I’m a bit upset about this situation, not with you, but with IBZ. In exactly the same case, they refused me without asking for any additional documents. Oh right… I guess because I’m white.

I already did but could not received response on timeline.

I have seen the timeline from last 2 years on this forum under family reunification can see it's immediate.

Applied from abroad and 6 months visa timeline is already gone. Applied on 3rd april.
Additional documents asked on 26th September and sent on same day.

Really sorry to hear about your case. My intention is only get attention of those people who faced similar situation and can guide.
Thank you
@Abhimanyu_143 If you are applying from abroad, the processing time is 6 to 9 months.
You will have to wait.
Hello everyone,
Please note that the last few posts of @Abhimanyu_143 and responses he has received have been moved to this thread.

Hey there! Immigration has asked me to provide Registered Rental Agreement as far as i provided a physical signed documents which i know lately. Now my question is when i ask my landlord lord she send me a copy of Registered Rental Agreement from FOD. Is good enough to resubmit it or waiting her to give me other original docs as long as her if it is possible to give me. And how long can it take to answer me?
Hi everyone,
I submitted my documents to VFS on June 25. They were forwarded to IBZ on July 29, and I'm still waiting for a response. Is anyone here in the same situation?
My spouse has K card and a 10-year residence permit.
Could anyone please share which applications from July 2025 have recently received a decision?
@Kiflom Kidane
I think you have to share the myrent.be or myminfin.be rental document that your apartment owner or agency can provide you.

@aysemeierr
Hello Someone (from outside the EU) who applied for family reunification on April 14th had their visa approved on October 17th and received their passport today. I think it's April now.
@gurbetciadayi By the way, this is a slightly delayed reference; the total process takes an average of 140-150 days. How do you get this information? I couldn't find any information on sikayetvar

Hi,
I have booked an appointment with VFS Global for a single permit visa on 24 November 2025. I have my Annex 46 and work authorization, and all related documents ready.
I would like to clarify the process regarding family reunification for my husband. The document requirements mention: “A photocopy of the inviting person’s residence permit.”
Could you please confirm whether my husband can submit his family reunification application now, or if he must wait until my single permit is approved and I have received my residence card in Belgium?
Thank you very much for your guidance.
Kind regards,
CD
@Abhimanyu_143
Wow Congratulations to you
The extra payslips you submitted, was it for last year or for the months following your submission. What month of payslips did they request for?
@Grace Great
Hey we applied together for visa from home country so initially during application I didn't submitted payslips due to non availability. They requested for last 4 months
@Gurbetciadayi
Yes, applied on 2nd May.
Still waiting.
